Iphone 3g + os4 = useless phone

Firstly, I loved my iphone. Couldn't live without it. But since upgrading my 3g to os4 I am seriously going off it as there are too many bugs and its soooo slooowww! and i cant even listen to stuff through my headphones!
The fact of the matter is that os4 is NOT FULLY compatible with the iphone 3g, and we should have been advised as such - but i very much doubt if Apple will do anything about it.... because they want you to buy a new phone.
*NEWSFLASH: I'm not buying another phone, I was more than happy before os4.*
Please Apple, I just want os3.1.3 back.

I am not having troubles, so iOS 5.0.1 is not bad for all.
There seems to be a few people who have troublkes with updates.
All updates can cause issues; either bad installs, or suffenly a hardware problem becomes evident.
I am not saying it's your fault, just that it happens.
I can feel your frustration and anger, and imagine that I too would feel upset.
But this area is a user forum and not viewed by Apple.
I suggest you take it back to the store you bought the phone from and ask them to fix it.
Different countries have different consumer laws regarding what companies are liable for, so you may have grounds to have all fixes paid for even if you are out of warranty.
I suggest you also try to contact Apple, or their supplier/importer in your country.

If Whatsapp is on your iPhone now and is not working, that would be a matter for Whatsapp support.
If you cannot install Whatapp due to iOS on your computer being to old, you can try upgrading iTunes to 10.6.3, if you haven't done so already, presuming your PB is running Mac OS X 10.5.8, which may allow you to upgrade iOS on your iPhone. If your computer is not running 10.5, then you'll need to find a retail copy of 10.5 and upgrade.
The last PowerBook was discontinued seven years ago, though, so it may be time to consider upgrading to an Intel-based MacBook.

Since upgrading to iOS6 my iPhone 4S is useless, calls are being disconnected and also the phone is often failing to dial out, is apple going to bring in any solutions? Maybe it's time to start looking to another phone company.

I also am having severe troubles since the upgrade, I posted the following but no one ever responded.

Let me start by saying I have been searching these threads for a week for an already posted answer and tried all suggested remedies with no results.
My specifics,
After a couple days ignoring the pop up to upgrade my iPhone 4CDMA to iOS6, I accidentally clicked to upgrade now button. When it finished my phone shut off, restarted with a time and date of 12/31/1969, searching for carrier signal, no wifi, all 300 contacts gone, along with all notes, reminders and text history. Within a minute, with my jaw hitting the ground my phone once again shut off. Then came on. Kept repeating in this manner.
What I've attempted so far,
The only way I am able to get my phone out of this constant boot loop in order to attempt anything is to plug it to my mophie or wall outlet. It still reboots repeatedly but will remain on for periods lasting up to six or seven minutes before shutting down again. My PC runs on winxp, I first updated to the current version of iTunes before connecting via USB, not a hub, followed the prompts t restore and as soon as the iTunes begins the process my computer crashes. Did this three times. Went to a friends with win7, could not get iTunes to recognize my phone at all. Went to another friends put my device into DFU when iTunes recognized it restore failed cuz my connection doesn't last long enough to complete. I then manually installed the .ipsw and tried it that way thinking it might be faster but it wasn't fast enough. I'm past warranty, I don't have Apple Care, I don't qualify for another upgrade until Nov 24 besides which a new phone doesn't resolve my lost data.
Can anyone help me?

It sounds like your device might be in Activation Lock. Is it asking your to enter in an Apple ID & password, but only showing you the first letter of the email address and then some dots? Example: j•••••@icloud.com?
If so, do you recognize that email? Do you have an Apple ID that fits the same format? If so, then go to www.cloud.com, log in with that Apple ID & password, and see if under Find My iPhone it shows this device. If so, turn off the device, then remove the device from the list.

When I try to log into "find my iphone" under his name on my device I get an error msg involving icloud......he is MUCH better at this stuff then I am BUT he is in school and now I need to figure out how to use the "find my iphone app". It doesn't matter whick account you use to download the app.
You have to sign into the app (or iCloud.com from a web browser on your computer) with his Apple ID & password.
Find My iPhone will only work if it was enabled in the iCloud settings on the device and it was powered on with a connection to the internet

If you try all these Steps and you still have issues... Then a Visit to an Apple Store or AASP (Authorized Apple Service Provider) is the Next Step... Be sure to make an appointment first...

I see. Apple's documentation on what is included in the iCloud backup doesn't explicitly say that it contains voicemails, but that doesn't mean it does not. You would just have to try restoring the backup to find out.
To restore to your iCoud backup you have to start by erasing the phone. Go to Settings>General>Reset and tap Erase All Content and Settings. Then go through the setup screens on the phone and when given the option, choose Restore from iCloud backup. You will then sign into your iCloud account, accept the terms and conditions, then choose the backup you wish to restore from. To see an older backup, you may need to tap "Show older backups" (see image below). Be sure your phone is connected to wifi and your charger as this may take some time to finish.
If this does not recover your voicemails, you can check to see if you have an older iTunes backup that may contain them. Available backups are shown in iTunes Preferences>Devices on the Backups list.
If all else fails, you could try contacting your carrier. Voicemail is a carrier feature and they may have an archive you could access.
