IPhone 3G problems with 3G...

Hi,
My iPhone 3G was working perfectly with OS 3.0 but lately it's been playing up - now whenever I connect to my home router 3G overrides Wi-Fi... laptop has no problem with the router, no settings have been changed on the router - the router is not the problem.
Also now, while sitting at my desk I can't get a signal anymore... I have to turn 3G off to get a signal - the signal is full bar with EDGE.
I've done everything short of putting it in the freezer: -
- reset network
- forget this network
- renew lease
- restore
- all sorts of turning on & off 3G, data roaming...etc combinations
but no change... or improvement!

Try restoring your phone from your most resent backup, followed by syncing your iTunes content back to your phone. But first, find and delete the existing .ipsw file on your computer(it "may" be corrupt). You will have to turn on "Show All Hidden Files & Folders" to see it. This will force iTunes to download a fresh copy. The .ipsw file can be found here:

Vista & 7: C:\Users[username]\AppData\Roaming\Apple Computer\iTunes\iPhone Software Updates

Iphone 3g problems with itunes

I have finally installed the latest itunes version on my notebook (WIN7) - had a lot of problems with the avfoundationcf.dll - error.
But after many times deleting und installing itunes again and again, I finally made.
ITunes works - BUT
now it says: iphone cannot be used as the needed software is not installed - system is asking to delete ITunes again and install the needed 64bit ITunes.
But that ´s the one I have installed.
Any suggestions?

I also odid the upgrade I lost everything app my itunes what kind of mess is this aplle has to do something about this I still have my pic and contacts but everything else is gone. What do we do now?

Iphone 3g problems with charging

After charging my phone, I unplug it and I can't hear any sound coming out of it. I check my settings, everything is on.

The unit finally failed and I opened it up. It appears to consist of an AC-->dc converter with suitable filters and regulators and a small computer that probably talks via I2C or a similar protocol to the iphone.
I suspect that components are defective and the output voltage is outside the range it thinks it should be or some problems with the communications cause it to send an erronious message in response to the query sent by the iphone. I did NOT see any obviously bulging electrolytic capacitors, but I did not test for high ESR and I suspect that is the problem.
A 'off brand' AC Charger of iPod and iPhone from Radio Shack works fine while BOTH authentic APPLE iphone 'tiny cube' chargers are going for recycling.
Software fixes may cause the iphone to either keep trying until it gets the right response or ignore the erronious responses.

I have big problem with my Iphone 5s: about a month ago it start to go in "screen of death". In other words began to appear blue screen and reboot Iphone. When restoring iTunes gives an error (9). Sorry for my English. Thanks in advanced for your help.

IPhone sync problem with iCal and Address Book

I have a new iPhone 4 that is not syncing contacts or events. It doesn't seem to matter whether the event or contact is created in my iMac or on the iPhone. Either way, the data doesn't move. During the iPhone synch process, where iTunes tells you what is going on, syncing calendars and contacts doesn't even appear. When I had my iPod Touch, all worked well. I saw a post about resetting in iSync, etc., but when I look there, I don't even see my iPhone, and so far I can't add it. My only option there is to add a bluetooth device. So I need some help. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

You're welcome.
You can't hurt anything by resetting the sync history on your Mac, and doing so may resolve the problem.
Syncing contacts direct with a supported Address Book application and syncing calendar events direct with a supported Calendar app on your computer via the iTunes sync process has nothing to do with a MobileMe account - a trial account or otherwise. Completely separate and not related even if you are syncing contacts and calendar events over the air with your MobileMe account on your iPhone. If you are doing so with your iPhone, syncing direct with the Address Book and iCal via the iTunes sync process is not required.

IPhone 6, problems with volume, automatically goes to the max when listening to the music

iPhone 6 iOS 8.1, sometimes when I'm trying to increase volume by 1 bar, it goes to the max and there is no way to decrease it without reboot. Had same problem before updating to iOS 8.1... I've never had that problem with my 5S, which is also on iOS 8.1. I'm using Beats Mixr headphones with remote. I've tried to restore the phone, didn't helped.
Yesterday I was listening to the music on iPhone 6 for about 4 hours and this happened 5 times, today I listened music from iPhone 5S for almost 5 hours and it didn't happended even once... I was using the same headphones... Any ideas?

My phone is not on mute, the volume is up to the max, there are no blue tooth connections, the phone will not ring only vibrate with the ringer on. I cannot hear any music through the phone either.

Why does apple ipad and iphone have problems with comcast?

We attempt to send pictures through our comcast wifi account and gets to about 90%and freezes. Have reset modem, and router, have turned off phone and reset it. Have switched to 4G then pictures will send. Only has problem when connected to wifi. As my ipad is wifi, I cannot send pictures at all with it.
Did not have this problem until iOS 6 update.
Any suggestions?

My iPad and other devices have no problems with Comcast, but I didn't get my WiFi router from them. If you did, your router may need a firmware update, or you may need to get a different model of router.

IPhone 3G problems with iOS 4

I just updated to iOS4 on my iPhone 3G. I've had some major issues... First off, anytime I tried to restore from a backup, it would get stuck in a boot loop. I had to start from scratch again. Second, It crashes randomly when I try to sync, use it for a while, or when it auto-sleeps. Thirdly, none of my contacts will pull down from MobileMe; everything else will, mail contacts etc. Anyone have a solution for any of these problems? It also looks like, now that I checked, that the iPhone crashes when syncing contacts during the sync because I tried to manually pull them from address book instead of MobileMe. And, when I open up free memory, it says that I only have 5 MB of RAM available on the device. What's going on??? Luckily my iPhone 4 is coming in on thursday and I only have to deal with this for a couple of more days.

So tonight I successfully updated my iphone 3gs to ios4. Trying to be nice, I was going to update my dad's 3g after he went to sleep so he could wake up to the new update. no good deed goes unpunished.
So I plugged in his phone and it told me there was an update available, so I sat and waited while it downloaded. Once done, it was automatically starting the update. It first said it was backing up the iphone (which took forever). Then, to my surprise, it said it was restoring the iphone software and firmware. I was scared but then it said it was restoring the music and apps, so i figured it was restoring everything it had just taken so long to back up.
I waited and once it was done, the phone was updated with the new features but was back to it's factory settings. It had no contacts, no calendar events, no email was set up, no notes.
However, it did have the latest photos if I am remembering correctly.
So I frantically restored the phone to the latest back up, which I assumed would be from a couple of hours ago, but it turned out to be from January 17, 2010. I didn't sync the phone before starting the update because I didn't while updating my 3gs earlier, and all went well then.
So now the phone has lost anything that was added to it after January 17, 2010. Including the recent pictures that were still on the phone when it was restored to its factory settings earlier.
WHAT HAPPENED? CAN I FIX IT?
if the phone spent so long backing up before the update then why isn't there a back up file for it?
I am very desperate. my dad is a businessman who had a lot of important contacts and events stored in his phone. He wakes in 15 minutes at 5:00 am and I am just awaiting his anger when he finds a chunk of his data missing.
please help me.

IPhone Sync Problems with VISTA After iTunes Upgrade to 7.4

Upon upgrading to iTunes 7.4 I was unable to sync my Outlook calendar or contacts to the iPhone. Called Apple Support that they seemed to know nothing about this problem general problem despite all of the discussions on this and many other tech. boards.
After being told remove and reinstall iTunes and Outlook, set-up a new user account, etc... (none of which worked) I finally concluded that perhaps the .pst file being used by outlook was simply incompatible with iTunes for some reason (e.g. unsupported recurring calendar items).
SOLUTION: Create a new outlook .pst data file. Once created, open up that new file along with the defective .pst file. Then, simply change the view of calendars and contacts in your old calendar such that you can see all of the items in a list. Highlight the items you want to keep and simply click-and-drag them to the nes .pst file. This solves all of the sync. problems I had post-7.4 upgrade. It takes less than 3 minutes to complete this painless fix.

Then it would appear to be an issue with your router. What router? Model? Is the firmware up to date?

Iphone 4 problem with car connection.

Hey, I have been using an xcarlink ipod adapter in my 2006 Mazda six since about December and up to a few days ago it was working perfectly fine.
Now whenever I plug my iphone 4 in I am no longer able to browse my songs on it, instead all it says now is "accessory connected" and has a white screen with a small outline of the ipod on it, I can go back to main menu but cannot select songs anymore.
I have tried restarted my iphone, I have checked the cables, It has nothing to do with the most recent iphone update because I used it and it worked fine after I updated it til a day later.
Any help on the matter would be greatly appreciated.

Since my last post, I have been to a Vodafone store to see whether they have come across this problem before.
They hadn't, but were very helpful, they tested my iPhone with a different sim card, and then my sim card on a different iPhone 4.
We have discovered that it is the operating software on the phone.
My iPhone has the latest 4.2.1 software, but the other iPhone 4 had ios 4.0.2.
Voicemail works absolutely fine with 4.0.2!!!
I now need to find out how I can get this version of software onto my phone - then all will be resolved.
Can anyone help?

Iphone 5 problem with in & out going call with iOS 8.1

I have a iphone 5 and i had updated it to ios8.1 recently.
After doing so, i started having problem in both in and out going calls. It work only for a brief period after i restart the phone but after a while it gives me the same trouble.
I already tried to reset the phone to factory settings, but it still doesnt effect.
Please help me to get rid of this problem..

Follow the steps below to resolve this issue. Please test after each step.
Toggle airplane mode: Tap Settings > Enable Airplane Mode, wait five seconds, then turn off airplane mode.
Check your phone settings:
Check your Do Not Disturb settings: Tap Settings > Do Not Disturb.
Check for any blocked phone numbers: Tap Settings > Phone > Blocked.
See if Call Forwarding is turned on: Tap Settings > Phone > Call Forwarding.
Ensure that your software is up to date:
Check for a carrier settings update.
Check for an iOS software update.
Note: Some updates may require a Wi-Fi connection.
If the iPhone has a SIM card, reseat the SIM card.

IPhone stolen. Bought new iPhone but problem with iMessage

So, someone stole my iPhone 4 a couple of months ago and I got a new iPhone 4S with a new simcard. I synced it with my old iTunes account but the problem is, even after entering my new phone number in phone settings, when activating iMessage it still keeps verifying my old phone number. I don't have my old phone number because my phone was stolen so I can't use that simcard to turn iMessage off and then activate it again with my new simcard. What do I do now? I tried resetting my network settings but that didn't work either!

Your post is rather confusing, but I'll try and provide some direction.
If you want to transfer iTunes Store purchases from an iPhone to a computer, be sure to authorize the computer BEFORE connecting your phone. Is that what you did?
Did you use the same itunes account?
Do this, de-authorize your new computer, quit itunes. Relaunch itunes and authorize the computer. Under preferences, make sure that auto-sync when an ipod/phone is connected IS NOT SELECTED. Connect your phone. Right click the phone in the device panel and select "transfer purchases". Only music/apps you purchased in itunes will be transferred. Music you ripped on your own won't.
Give this a shot & see if it fixes the problem.

IPhone contact problems with 2.0

There is a new contacts icon on the main page of the phone, if you click on it and try to scroll or click on a letter to get to those names the phone is really hesitant but it finally caches up...zzzz. But then when you click on a contact it becomes hesitant again....zzzz. Then if you click on a regular 123-456-7890 number it dial it, but if the number start with *67123-456-7890 it refuses to dial it or in the case you need to dial a number 123-456-7890,,,1234567890 like to get to your voice mail or access another service the phone won't dial it. This only works the "old way" click on phone icon (bottom left) then click contacts then everything works fine. I have restore the phone twice and no change.

I shut down itunes, disconnected the iphone and shut down and restarted my laptop. That seemed to fix the problem. Not sure what the technical definition is, but it worked. If this does not work, make an appointment to see a genius at the apple store asap.

Switching iPhones and problems with contacts

I upgraded my iPhone so I am giving my old one to my boys. I was able to sign into iMessage and FaceTime with their apple id, but I can't remove my phone number. This doesn't seem to be a problem except when I change the contacts on one phone, it automatically changes it on the other phone. No matter which phone is changed, it changes the other one. I don't know if this is because the phone number is still associated with the old phone or not but that is the only thing I can figure out. Thanks for your help!

I figured it out! I had to delete account in he iCloud settings. I was scared to hit this button because I deleted my backup once and lost all my apps. Deleting the account is different I guess. Now my old phone is not linked to the new phone.
