Iphone 3G recovery mode; the iPhone cannot be recovered: unknow error 1604

Hi
I was recovering my iPhone 3G at iTunes after creating a back-up.
When I wanted to recover (and update to OS 3.1.3. from 3.1.2) iTunes is turning the iPhone into recovery mode, but after a few minutes the phone is keeping getting the message
the iPhone cannot be recovered: unknow error 1604
There is no futher information about this error. So now I have a non working iPhone
Please help me, what to do

You got a new iPhone 4, and out of the box the phone is in recovery mode? If that's the case, return it.
If you don't want to do that. what error code are you getting?

To minimise loss... Connect to iTunes on the computer you Usually Sync with and Restore from the most recent Backup...

Do you have a Time Machine backup or clone? If not,
all is lost if you have in fact deleted your OSX partition
and you will have to do a reinstall from Recovery HD
and install all else.

It also happened to me. What I did was to put my USB connector at the back of my PC (the main USB port) then I open my iTunes again and Viola, it solves my problem.

Look closely at the URL you posted. The protocol designator (http://) is repeated TWICE.
Change http://http:// to http:// and it will work fine.

The Finder Cannot Be Launched -600 error

Hi, when Os X 10.5 freezes (everytime since I installed it), whatever application I am using freezes, and when I chosse Force Quit, nothing happens. When I choose Relaunch Finder, I get "The Finder Cannot Be Launched -600 error" and I have to power off my Mac & turn the power back on.
Any help on how to get through 1 day with 10.5 working would be appreciated.

You might try something easy - trash the finder preference file (com.apple.finder.plist) and restart. Sometimes corrupt preference files cause strange behavior.

When I woke up this morning my phone is frozen with the display having the blue circle itunes on the top and bottom of screen has the charger cord, letting me know to plug in, but it was already plugged in. The message in Itunes says, itunes has detected an iphone in recovery mode. You must restore the phone before you can use it. I know if I hit recovery mode that I lose everything currently on my phone. Any suggestions?

If you're in recovery mode, all data is ALREADY lost. You've no choice but to restore.
