IPhone 3G S 32GB has 1.31GB of "Other" stuff on it
In iTunes my 3G S shows as having 1.31GB of "Other" stuff on it.
Any idea what it could be?
I have:
24GB of audio
1.06GB of video (2 movies & 10 music vids)
1.55GB of photos
455MB of apps
1.31GB of other
I looked in my Mobile Applications folder in ~/music/iTunes, and I have 46 apps in there, the largest being Navigon at 213MB and the smallest just 288KB. Total size of all 46 in Finder is 399MB.

The "Other" category for my iPhone is well under 300MB - "Other" should not be that large.
This means some of your music or video was not categorized properly when syncing. This can occur when the sync process is interrupted, or some of the data was not transferred properly during the sync process for whatever reason.
Try removing and re-transferring some of your music and/or video. If this doesn't resolve it, restore your iPhone with iTunes from your iPhone's backup.

In my case, this must be me. My iPhone has a bug - it's not any of the other things that are considered "other". It's just an issue. I've researched for over an hour, reduced every settings imagineable (Other doesn't go down - in fact, it goes up, almost like, because I freed up space, it wants to fill in the remaining space). I called Apple - after one hour of being inadvertently hung up on twice (they took my number to call me back in case disconnected and never did - amazing) and then talking to another 3 reps, they just "guessed" which I find offensive to my time - just say "I don't know but if you are willing to take a chance, here's a thought..." rather than not be able to say "I don't know". Warning: Resets DO NOT solve this problem unless you do a clean wipe out and start from scratch (w/o restoring your stuff). Two hours later, I've resolved to wipe out my phone.

hi, i bought an iphone 5 about two weeks ago, my iphone has only 16gb of storage and i am running out of storage. Is it possible to exchange the 16gb iphone with the 32gb by paying the difference in an apple retail store? Also i didnt buy my iphone in an apple store.
If the retailer you purchased the iPhone from allows a return for payment credit within a designated period of time after the purchase date, you will need to return the existing iPhone and package contents for payment credit to that retailer - Apple deducts a 10% restocking fee when an iPhone is purchased and returned at an Apple Store, followed by purchasing the iPhone with the storage capacity you now want.

When trying to sign in with 2 different apple id's that i use for year now, I get a message saying "unknown error". I succeed in signing in directly from my iphone though. What has changed?
You will need to contact iTunes support.

iPhone 5S: does anybody has this problem. During a successful voice call all of a sudden people can't hear me while I can hear them. Signal is strong and call quality (me hearing the other) is still very good but it looks as if I’m going on mute while I’m not muting my iPhone. When dropping the call and re-dialing it works fine again. It’s a brand new iPhone 5S but it now happened already 4 or 5 times in 2 days.
It feels like a hardware/iOS problem and not a network issue. It happend with iOS7.03 but I just see 7.0.4 is available so will install that one now.

Thank you for providing so much detail about the issue you are experiencing with the audio on your iPhone. I would be concerned too if the audio on my iPhone was not working unless using speaker phone. I found an article with some steps to take when you are experiencing issues like this:

IPhone 5 voice memo has completely disappeared
I have been conducting my senior thesis project which has involved conducting interviews. All of them have been recorded on my iPhone 5. It is not set to sync automatically and I have been transferring them manually to my computer for transcription.
This morning I looked at my voice memos, where there were 5 memos from 5 different interviews. I got distracted before transferring them, and when I went to transfer, there were only 4 voice memos. The 5th, and longest interview audio, was missing. I've downloaded multiple data recovery software programs, and various programs to manually access the files on my iPhone. When I look at recovery, it finds photos I've deleted from last year, but still, only those 4 voice memos exist. I've tried iCloud backup and iTunes back up options as well, and this file is literally no where to be found. I've restarted my iPhone as well.
So, is there any other way to try to find the voice memo file or is all lost?Unfortunately not, unless you have it backed up. If you have it backed up though, you would need to fully restore the whole device.

Ever since I updated to ios 6 on my iPhone 4S, iTunes Match has not worked.
I have been through the process of deleting my iTunes control files, and that worked temporarily, but now I cannot listen to music through the service.
It shows my artists and albums, then takes forever to access the songs (often more than 10 minutes - and yes, that's using WiFi), more often than not crashing before it gets to that point, then repeatedly crashing when I try to open the Music App, so I can't even access things I've downloaded.
Has anyone else found a solution?
Apple, please listen up - I am paying you for the iTunes Match service that is utterly useless. Fix it please.After some troubleshooting, I decided to order a new battery. I replaced the battery and was then able to get it to restore, however--after I restore it and it comes time to restart the phone, it gets stuck and doesn't turn on.

She does not have apple care and even though she loved this device, she isn't going to buy another iPhone because of all the problems shes had with this one (it's just over a year old).
After you ruined the iPhone with DIY, Apple won't touch it anymore. You should have asked before all these had happened.
I'm an android user myself and I love rooting/flashing new ROMS, so if jailbreaking her phone or doing some kind of super-restore with 3rd party programs might help, I'm all for it-

Dear apple, I am really dissapointed with you. Around January 2013, my iPhone 4s 16GB White has hardware issues, which was the Wi-Fi grey out. The wifi grey out means that I can't access the wifi on/off button, and also it has no connection. I have put up with it for months, until june 7 when I decided it has been long enough, and I got a replacement. I told the genius bar what happened, and I already did the so called "steps" that apple reccommended on the site, which was reset network settings, restore iPhone. The genius bar gave me a replacement phone, so I was expecting that the problem would be over, but it isn't. It seems that it's iOS 6.1.3 which is the case of most public complaints on apple iPhone products. Not even 3 weeks after I got the phone replaced, it is doing it again, so I suspect I'm just going to get a replacement again? Unfortunately I only have until 5th of july 2013 until my 1 year warranty is up. After that, any issue I have, I have to purchase apple care. People are expecting this problem to be fixed but I don't see it being solved any time soon. This is horrible and really low, because I have been a good customer, when I talk to the people at the genius bar, I show the utmost respect I can to them for the work they put into their job, but somewhere there is a problem where something has gone wrong. Because of that, people that only have a one year warranty (which i received because I purchased my apple iPhone at an Optus outlet, once that one year warranty is up, I have to pay for a problem that isn't even my fault? That isn't how it should work, you should be fixing this problem so people can be happy customers and leave happy. Obviously you don't all know how to do your jobs, because if you did, we wouldn't have this problem. I would like a replacement phone, ONCE AGAIN. itunes in my laptop is not showing my iphone5 (7.0.4) but it has no problem wat so ever showing in another laptop...and my laptop has no prob showing other iphones

Deleting an account from a device will not delete the information from the account, if that is what you are asking. -

In order to change your Apple ID or password for your iCloud account on your iOS device, you need to delete the account from your iOS device first, then add it back using your updated details. (Settings > iCloud, scroll down and hit "Delete Account")
