Iphone 3G S speaker issues with SMS

My new iphone has a speaker issue. When I get a text message, email, or alert the first one sounds like the speaker is blown out or distorted. However, if I go into setting to recreate the sound, it's normal. It seems to be just on the first text if the phone has been sitting for like 5 minutes. I called Apple and they said to do a restore and set up as a new phone. Did that and it is still doing it. Has anyone else had this problem or swapped their phones out yet? Just want to know if this is a hardware or software issue. I am leaning towards software because if it was hardware wouldn't it do it everytime?

I believe it may be a Sofware problem. Others are having various issues with sound as well...

Ios 5.0.1 + Iphone 4 bluetooth connection issue with car stereo

My Iphone 4 will not connect with my new JVC car stereo I have spoken to JVC customer support and they say its an Apple issue that they need to fix (changed something with the bluetooth connection scripts in the latest update update, as they have done before).
The phone finds the stereo and then tries to pair with it, however half way through the pairing process the phone losses connection with the stereo and the pairing is then deleted.
I have deleted all the existing pairing in the phone memory and ensured that the stereo has been rebooted to ensure no conflict of previous installs would effect the process
Does anyone know if Apple are going to fix this glitch in a new softwre update (and if so when is it being released) as at the minute i have an expensive stereo which is cant use to its full ability?

Similar problems occured when Apple released iOS 4 last year. It was NOT fixed with an update from Apple. It was fixed by the system vendors and automakers releasing updates for their equipment. There are ongoing complaints from people with some Toyota built cars (Toyota and Lexus) with some systems as well as some BMW drivers.
I'm willing to bet money that the head unit you have is not fully standards compliant. Unfortunately, getting JVC to admit that is going to be nearly impossible. I suspect they will just quietly issue an update sometime in the next few months. Assuming the head unit can be updated by the end user at all. You may have to resort to an inexpensive visor mount speaker phone in the mean-time.

Anyone have any information about iphone 6 and 6 issues with receiving Unknown caller IDs from pbx systems?

We are seeing any issue with iphone 6 and 6+ phones receiving "Unknown" on the caller id when they receive a call from a PBX system. All other versions of iphones are not having this issue. I have read several forums and it seems to be a carrier issue with the new LTE towers. Has anyone else experienced this issue?

yes its a new issue for me too. Are you a ATT customer? My brother has iphone 6 but with another carrier and has no problems..

IPhone 6 "no network" issues with vehicle

My iPhone 6 pairs with my Range Rover no problem, plays music via the iPod from the iPhone. However, it will not allow for phone calls while in the vehicle using Bluetooth. Just says "no network."
Tried:
Resetting phone
Resetting network on phone
Deleting and repairing phone from vehicle numerous times. No matter what it still says "no network" on my screen display for my Range Rover.
However my iPhone 5S WITH IOS 8 DID work without any issues. So it's not IOS 8.
Tried pairing it with a friend of mines car and same thing. No Network.
I really hope this can be fixed by Apple through a software update because if it's a hardware issue with the new iPhone 6, things will start getting interesting
as I've seen this issue in other threads already and is going viral slowly......

iPhone working fine now in the car, I can call and receive ok and audio is good.
however I can skip tracks forward on the steering wheel and iPhone but can only go backwards to the start of track playing? Not a major problem but everything is ok.
i fixed this by resetting all settings, the network settings only delete all your wi-fi codes. Hope this helps..

Dropped iPhone - now there are issues with speaker and earpiece

My iPhone 4 loudspeaker (at the bottom) isn't as loud or clear as it used to be after it was dropped into a river today, the earpiece doesn't work at all. The phone itself turns on and touch screen etc all still works though. Any ideas/help please?
The only time sound works is when it is on speakerphone - not on videos though. Even then it's not very loud or clear.

Water+energized electronics = shorted out hardware. It is almost certianly damaged beyond repair if wholly submersed like that. As tonefox says, your only real option is an out of warranty replacement, which Apple offers for a fee.

Iphone 4, ios5 upgraded, issues with iMessaging.....activation unsucessful, no associated telephone number, just email.

1. upgraded to ios5
2. activated iMessaging
3. get message saying carrier may charge for activation texts - never received these - no matter how many times i try to activate
4. keeps saying activation unsuccesful
5. allows me tho, to sign in with apple id
6. recipients receive iMessages in their text inbox but from my email address
7. if i sign out of apple id cannot use iMessages
8. iMessages has defaulted to email address, not telephone number as it should
9. if i try to add another email adress it will alow me but there is nowhere anywhere at all for caller id
10. i cant delete that email adress as it is the primary one that im signed in with as my apple id
11. i have done a hard restore, ive turned all my notifications, imessaging, face time off then turned phone off and on again....
12. considering a restore thru itunes
13. also considering a DFU
14. and finally considering flushing the bloody thing!!

iMessage is a strange one for me too...
When I first activated it, it would not show up texts I sent or rcvd on both my iPhone and iPad.. just iPhone... I played with this for a long time before changing the "Caller ID" setting from within iMessage settings... NOT the one in the phone settings...
After I chose to use the email (Apple ID) assigned to iMessage the syncing worked! this doesn't change the fact that my regular phone number shows up to non iOS5 devices I text... very strange for me too...
it does work however I had to change that setting in order to get it to work...
As for cant activate... I had that issue at first but after first day it worked fine...perhaps network lag or iMessage lag due to too many users in at once...

I have heard that the iphone 5 has hardware issues with the lock button and sometimes the power button...is this a recurring problem or is it easily fixable?

Is this problem affecting most users? I heard that it usually takes abotu 2-3 weeks after getting a replacement that these problems might occur and I don't wanna shell out a lot of money only to have to constantly go to the apple store and get a new replacement regardless if it is free.

I currently have a defective lock/sleep button on my iPhone 5. After putting up with it for 3 weeks, I took it to an apple store. The "genius" told me that because I'm 50 days over my year warranty, I would have to pay $280 to get a replacement. They will not fix the problem. They can only give you a refurbished phone. BEWARE: the replacement is only free if the phone is still within the one year warranty or if you have an extended apple care. I'm still blown away on the fact that I payed $500 for a product that defected in a little over a year and be told by a condescending apple genius that I have to pay $280 to resolve the problem. My friends who have Samsungs and HTCs have 2 year old phones that work as well as the day they bought them. I had a blackberry for almost 3 years and had no issues at all, but a highly advanced, "well made" apple product barely lasted a year. My wife's iPhone 4S shuts off when the battery drops to 30%. And of course the guys at the Genius Bar say they can't help. I shouldn't have to pay for a replacement unless I did the damage myself. I've been an iPhone user since the first iPhone. And every year, I've had something break right after the warranty expires (failed audio jack on iPhone 1, failed earphone on iPhone 3G, failed home button on iPhone 4). It's getting really old spending a lot of money on cheap products and having to deal with the "better-than-you" swagger from the Genius Bar.

IPhone "cannot be synced;" issues with photos!

I tried to delete some of my photos from my 8G iPhone since they were taking up a lot of room, but when I tried to sync my iPhone with only some picture folders selected instead of all of My Pictures, iTunes refused to delete the old pictures and left white squares with strange formatting and the same labels, taking up the same amount of memory, in their place. An error message popped up which says: The iPhone "iPhone" cannot be synced. An unknown error occurred (-39.)" Help! I've restarted my computer and turned my phone on and off again but nothing has helped and the same error shows up each time. I couldn't even get the old pictures back onto the phone...

One thing that you can try.
Before going through a full restore, try syncing to a blank folder first.
Create a folder on your desk top or where it is convenient.
Call it Blank.
Now open itunes and connect the iphone.
Set itunes to sync pictures only to that blank folder and click apply.
This clear out any pictures you have synced to the iphone.
Now try syncing to a folder with just a few pictures.
If this does not work, then you might want to do the restore as suggested by Allan.

My Iphone seems to have issue with Vodafone

I bought an Iphone 4 a week ago.I Got the microsim and everything went well.My phone was showing Vodafone IN.But the problem came with incoming and outgoing.I was not able to receive and make calls.Anyways that problem is solved.But now the problem is with DATA Plans for internet.I tried the trial pack of RS 5 which offers 10MB and it didnt work.I went Vodafone Care and they said your Iphone is a non OTA Device.So whats the solution??

IPhone 5 Wifi Hotspot - Issue with Non Apple Devices

I have iPhone 5 and a Working LTE connection , My Carrier officially supports data tethering. Previously i could turn on Personal Hotspot and use internet in my card with other Non-Apple Devices such as GPS , Samsung devices etc.
But recently i noticed after update to 7.1.2 . I can turn on Hotspot
1- Apple Devices can connect to Hotspot such as Mac Book Pro , IPhone and iPad.
2- Windows Laptop can use Internet Using USB Cable connected with iPhone but can not connect through Wifi.
3- All other Non-Apple Devices ( such as Lumia 1520 , Samsung Galaxy S5 ) Can not Connect to Wifi Hotsopt.
Is there any specific restriction or policy which is preventing this.
I have tried , Reset All Settings , Reset Network Settings. but it does not work.

HT201401 my iphone 3 is having issues with wifi.

my iphone 3 is not allowing me to tap the wifi button in settings and just says 'no wifi' and it's gone grey so i can't tap it. i have reset all the settings etc and it is still doing the same thing. do i need to take it in or is there something else i can do to fix it?

you are experiencing a hardware failure. You'll need to bring your phone in to Apple for replacement.

Sound issues with SMS; voice mail alerts and "lock sounds"

Every since upgrading to the latest version (on my original iPhone) the sounds do not work for such things as incoming text messages; new voice mail messages and the lock sound when I shut the phone off.
I've turned the phone off and on again; I've set and re-set the sound settings and everything looks like I should be getting sounds but it's like I have it on vibrate mode, which I don't.
I'm perplexed.... has this happened to anyone else?

I have had the same problem as well. I can usually fix it by playing a song from the iPod. After I do this the sounds work again, still annoying though!!

My iPhone 4S is having issues with sound.

The sound for locks, key clicks and in app sounds are not working. When watching videos there is also no sound and not even the sound bar appears to adjust the volume. Ringers and alerts work fine. This keeps happening on and off. Any ideas on how to resolve this? Thank you!

I found that out. I am hoping it was the triple click option. My wife's phone was set to Triple Click Home Button > Voiceover. We set that to off. She had a that problem on two seperate occasions. I hope this will be the solution, and I am wondering why this is not a default setting for the iphone, because I know we did not set the triple play button ourselves. She did however have a second problem where the phone lock screen went berzerk. Here is a picture.

My iphone has bluetooth connecting issue with my honda crv since upgrading to ios 7.1.2

EVer since i downloaded ios 7.1.2 the bluetooth in my crv keeps sisconnecting and connecting. We took it to a fenius and dud a reinstall. It worked for aday andbow itdoing the same thing. Never had this problem before
