Iphone 3G's stuck on restore screen! helpppp!

Hi all, This is my first post and i really hope someone can help me!
After having my Iphone 3g on 2.2FW for a while i decided to update it to the 2.2.1FW However during the update with iTunes it all went wrong!
after restarting several times it showed the recovery screen and windows tried to locate drivers for the phone... unsuccessfuly!
I honestly don't know what to do and any advice would be very appreciated. BTW i'm using windows vista home premium x64, iTunes is 8.1.

If only it were that simple, as windows cannot find any drivers for the phone it doesn't show up in iTunes at all and only shows up under the device manager as "Apple mobile device (Recovery mode)"

Turn it off by holding home+ power button untill the screen goes black ( as soon as it goes black, release the buttons).. This might take some practice , so dont worry if on the first try your phone reboots and goes to itunes screen again.
Now, with your phone powered off, enter DFU mode:
    Method 1)
Attach the phone to the pc
    Turn the phone off
Hold power and home together for *exactly* 10 seconds
Release power but keep holding home until the pc beeps as a USB device is recognized.
Whilist in dfu mode, itunes will recognize the device and it will ask you if you wish to restore it. Simply click restore, and the restoring proces will begin.
This will hopefully fix your iphone.
    Cheers

My iPhone 4s is stuck in AirPlay screen.  It won't shut off, software is current, it rings but the screen doesn't change so I can't take any calls. What do I do?

    Try:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Restore from backup
    - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
    - Make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store.
Apple Retail Store - Genius Bar
If you have problems restoring (if that is necessary) the iPhone
    Try:
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    - Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode
How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode « Karthik's scribblings
    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iPhone fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - If still not successful that indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

    Help Please!!

Get your money back from the seller, and if you are not immediately successful file a complaint with eBay.
Not all jailbroken iPhones can be fixed. That's probably why it was on eBay.

  • IPhone 4S is stuck at activation screen when trying to update iOS7 please hep!

iPhone 4S is stuck at activation screen when trying to update iOS7 please help!

All of Apple's servers...including the activation servers are pretty much flooded with users like you doing the same thing. Be patient and keep at it...or wait till the traffic to them has decreased and then try again. Coming back to it tomorrow  (if that's a viable option for you) will likely increase your chances of not having issues.

  • My iPhone 4s is stuck on restoring firmware, but my power button is broken.

    Hello all,
Earlier today my iMessage wasn't working. I tried everything but unfortunately, had no luck. I decided to reset the iPhone to factory settings and the screen decided to stay in restoration mode all day. This is the screen I've seen for 7 hours.
This happened to me once before, and I fixed it in seconds by holding down the sleep and home buttons. This let me restore it from iTunes in Recovery Mode. The only thing about this time, is my power button broke in June. I've had this phone for 3 years so I figured I'd manage with assistive touch. I don't really need the next new phone. This one is reliable so I really want to save it. I couldn't get it to turn off until I saw a video that told me to put it in the freezer for about 10-15 minutes. Being extremely desperate, I tried it. It ended up working and I figured as soon as it turned back on I could plug the phone in and hold the home button. After a few minutes of being just the apple logo, it went right back to the restore screen. The progress bar hasn't moved up at all in 7 hours. I tried to use recovery softwares but the only one that could recognize my device was a software called Syncios. When I plugged it in, it showed me this:
I'm wondering what Expiration Date means. Is that my warranty? Also, it seems that everything is already restored to factory settings. It still tells me the serial number and the updated software, It even tells me the Battery Status. I found it strange that the iPhone was at 0% when it is still clearly on. The only problem is that it's stuck on the restoration screen. If anyone can help, any information would be greatly appreciated. Also, I'm wondering if repairing the power button would end up fixing everything? I haven't been able to find any videos or articles that show you how to fix this specific screen, so I don't even know if it can be fixed by holding the sleep and power button. If all else fails tonight I'm just gonna leave it on the charger all night and pray that I see the slide to unlock screen in the morning, I'd rather not get rid of this phone. Thanks a bunch.

    Greetings bruce0bruce,
It seems your device is not functioning, and the Sleep/Wake button isn't working as well. Based on the information you have provided, it appears your iPhone needs to be serviced. The following link should help you get started with the process and has links with additional information on topics such as warranty and service pricing, battery replacement, and express replacement service.

    - It is unclear if you manually placed the iPod in recovery mode. Try again using:
iPhone and iPod touch: Unable to update or restore
Then connect to computer and try to restore.
    - Next see if placing the iPod in recovery mode will allow a restore.
How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode « Karthik's scribblings
    - If you can't get the iPod in recovery mode or DFU mode because you can't turn it off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an hour, try a reset, restore, placing in recovery mode and DFU mode and restoring.
