Unfortunately because you have violated the warranty - it will cost £216.44. See https://www.apple.com/uk/support/iphone/repair/screen-damage/
Unfortunately, since an unauthorized party opened it, Apple won't have anything to do with it at all. It's not eligible for an out of warranty replacement.

    Hey 11doski,
Thanks for the question. After reviewing your post, it sounds like the display has a dark screen. I would recommend that you read this article, it may be able to help you resolve or isolate the issue.

Toggle the ringer switch to see if the unit vibrates. If it does, it could be that iPhone is getting power, but is not displaying any image.
Try turning iPhone off and then on again.
While connected to the iPhone charger, try to reset the iPhone.
If the low-battery screen appears, charge the iPhone.

  • My iphone 4s' screen is shaking when the brightness is in maximum

My iphone 4s' screen starts shaking on the upper and lower part if I adjust the brightness on its maximum level (which I rarely do), but it still bothers me that there's something wrong with my phone. I usually set the brightness on medium level just enough to see the screen clearly. I'm here in the Philippines and I bought my phone last year in California. We don't have a genius bar over here and Mac stores doesn't offer repair services unless your phone is bought from a carrier (AT&T or Verizon over the US). The warranty of my phone expired two weeks ago I've already restarted and restored my phone but nothing's changed. I don't have any idea of the problem is with the LCD screen.

No in order to backup to iTunes, you would need to unlock your phone.

    Hey gloriale96!
I have an article for you with some troubleshooting steps that will help you resolve this issue:
    iPhone: Hardware troubleshooting
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ts2802
Will not turn on, will not turn on unless connected to power, or unexpected power off
Verify that the Sleep/Wake button functions. If it does not function, inspect it for signs of damage. If the button is damaged or is not functioning when pressed, seek service.
Check if a Liquid Contact Indicator (LCI) is activated or there are signs of corrosion. Learn about LCIsand corrosion.
Connect the iPhone to the iPhone's USB power adapter and let it charge for at least ten minutes.
After at least 30 minutes, if:
The home screen appears: The iPhone should be working. Update to the latest version of iOS if necessary. Continue charging it until it is completely charged and you see this battery icon in the upper-right corner of the screen . Then unplug the phone from power. If it immediately turns off, seek service.
The low-battery image appears, even after the phone has charged for at least 20 minutes: See "iPhone displays the low-battery image and is unresponsive" symptom in this article.
Something other than the Home screen or Low Battery image appears, continue with this article for further troubleshooting steps.
If the iPhone did not turn on, reset it while connected to the iPhone USB power adapter.
If the display turns on, go to step 4.
If the display remains black, go to next step.
Connect the iPhone to a computer and open iTunes. If iTunes recognizes the iPhone and indicates that it is in recovery mode, attempt to restore the iPhone. If the iPhone doesn't appear in iTunes or if you have difficulties in restoring the iPhone, see this article for further assistance.
If restoring the iPhone resolved the issue, go to step 4. If restoring the iPhone did not solve the issue, seek service.

  • Can I replace an iphone 5 screen that is slightly scratched?

Is there any way for me to replace an iphone 5 screen?

Apple does not repair iPhones, but will replace the entire iPhone for a flat fee. If you have AppleCare+ coverage, the cost will low; in the US it's $49. If you do not have AppleCare+ on your iPhone, see the Service Pricing section here:
    http://www.apple.com/support/iphone/service/faq/
There are independent iPhone repair services that may be able to do the repair for less than Apple's out-of-warranty charge. Do a web search for "iPhone repair". Note, though, that if you elect to have the iPhone serviced by an unauthorized shop, all further warranty and support from Apple will be voided.
    Regards.

  • HT2188 iphone 4 screen gone black

I was using an app when suddenly the screen went black, and after that nothing was responding... i pugged in for charging, but it wasnt responsive... later connected on to the Itunes, but again nothing was responsive... i even tried the wake/sleep and home button for 10-15 seconds, but still its not responsive... Can anybody suggest me what to do next?

If you take apart your iPhone to do anything, it will void your warranty. You can pay an out-of-warranty fee for damage that's $149 if you open the phone.
Try a hardware reset while connected to the charger.

  • IPhone 4S shows low in memory.

My iPhone 4S shows low in memory when I connect my iPhone 4s (iOS 8.0.2) to my Mac/Win machine. iTunes comes up as usual; the summary line at the bottom shows 800 photos whereas i have 300 appx in the phone gallery. While 'Other' section eats up to 20% of the phone memory.
Please help me in understanding the issue and how to fix it.

    Hey Prof.Crank,
I found the following troubleshooting steps to take when your iPhone is unresponsive:
If the device is unresponsive or if certain controls aren't working as expected, restart your device.
If the device remains unresponsive or does not turn on (or power on), reset your device.
If the above steps do not resolve the issue, or the if the screen remains black or shows a persistent Apple logo, try restoring with iTunes:
Connect the device to your computer and open iTunes.
If the device appears in iTunes, select and click Restore on the Summary pane. Learn more aboutrestoring iOS software.
If the device doesn't appear in iTunes, try to force the device into recovery mode, and then restore it.
If the above steps do not resolve the issue, contact Apple.

  • IPhone 6 screen unresponsive and flickering

My iPhone 6 screen all of a sudden became completely unresponsive. It no longer responds to any kinds of touch inputs. Furthermore, when on, the screen is constantly flickering with grids. I tried restarting, to no avail. as well as putting it in DFU Mode, resetting it, and restoring from backup-- nothing solves the problem. Is the only way to fix this to take it to the Apple store?

In the last couple of weeks (and nothing has changed) - I noticed that my iPhone 6 will remain in landscape mode if I lift it up too quickly.  It's not frozen - but it's not detecting that it is upright.  The workaround seems to be lower the phone to a horizontal position and then lift it again - slowly - and that seems to restore the portrait mode.  I could understand if this started happening immediately after an update - but it did not - it started about 2 weeks ago.  Typically the app that I use in landscape mode (the most) is youtube.  I'm wondering if it is something with the YouTube app - but I don't recall any recent updates for it either.

  • IPhone 6 screen is warmer than 5s screen?

I just got my iPhone 6 last Friday, and although I'm very happy with it, when I view the screen next to that of my iPhone 5s, the 6's screen seems less bright and less white. Due I guess to the lower contrast, text seems a little harder to read and less sharp than on the 5s. I'm wondering if this is normal or if perhaps my screen is defective?
I've read comments about the corners of the screen being a bit yellow, about time being needed for some glue (?) to dry, but I don't have a problem with part of the screen. It just seems the entire display is warmer and therefore less bright-white looking than on the 5s. It's sort of the difference between a 2700 K light bulb and a 3500 K light bulb, where the former looks warmer and more yellow than the latter.
Does anyone else out there feel this way? Is it something I should be concerned about or is it simply the way the new iPhone 6 screens are supposed to look? Thank you for any comments.

Thank you for your reply. I stopped at two T-Mobile stores this morning and compared their iPhone 6 display models to my iPhone 6. In both cases their screens were noticeably cooler/brighter than the warmer/duller screen on my phone. One of the employees even said on my phone the colors don't pop and the text seems a bit blurrier. Luckily it's only a half hour drive from my place to an Apple Store, but it's still a hassle to try to get my new phone swapped for another, which may not be in stock. And then I have no guaranty that the new phone won't have the same problem. I might even call T-Mobile and see if there's any chance I can send my new phone back and transfer service back to my 5s. Okay, well, thanks again for your comments.

  • HELP!! Lines On My iPhone 5 Screen

there are lines on my screen and then.the.phone shut off
    can.somebody.help me.please?
    sorry for.my bad english.

    Hi there .Grenade.!
I have an article here for you that can help address both of those issues. That article is found right here:
    iPhone: Hardware troubleshooting
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ts2802
First, if you are having issues getting the phone to turn back on, then you will want to reference these steps:
Will not turn on, will not turn on unless connected to power, or unexpected power off
Verify that the Sleep/Wake button functions. If it does not function, inspect it for signs of damage. If the button is damaged or is not functioning when pressed, seek service.
Check if a Liquid Contact Indicator (LCI) is activated or there are signs of corrosion. Learn about LCIsand corrosion.
Connect the iPhone to the iPhone's USB power adapter and let it charge for at least ten minutes.
After at least 15 minutes, if:
After getting the phone powered back on, if you are still experiencing issues with lines in the screen, then you will want to see this section:
    Display image issues
This can include bright or dark pixels, lines in video, or sections of video missing.
Try turning iPhone off and then on again.
Verify the issue is not content related, by viewing different content.
If the image is too dark, adjust the brightness. In General Settings choose Brightness and Wallpaperand slide the slider.
Thanks for coming to the Apple Support Communities!

  • Iphone 4s screen scratching easily

i had my iphone 4s for only a few days and the screen is already scratched in multiple spots.. is anyone else having this issue? My family members have had theirs in pockets purses for over a year without any scratches.. I didn't keep my keys in the same pocket and somehow managed to scratch it... is the iphone 4s screen more susceptible to scratches? is this something i can bring up under warranty? or just considered wear and tear.

We took the iphone in and we were told that if it’s cosmetic damage it isn’ttheir problem regardless of the circumstances and if we wanted the glass replaced it would be their standard replacement charge (I think this was around£140). When we argued that the screen coating could be at fault and asked if they had seen this before the genius said that it wasn’t possible for the glass to be faulty. We then asked if this means that the failure rate on the glass, and the phone, was 0% and he just repeated that it wasn’t possible for it to be faulty.
We also reported that the length of time the battery lasted was much lower than the old phone and he said it was because there were apps running in the background and that was the only cause that it could possibly have. He then wenton to give us a lecture, which lasted at least 5 minutes, as to how a battery, like anything electronic, is like a car engine and takes a long time to get up to full power. This was only a few days before the admission that there was a battery life issue because of the software bug.
There were also an issue with the sim where the phone would come up with "Sim Failure" every hour or so and the phone would require a reset. Whilst this was displayed the phone couldn’t receive any calls or texts until it was reset. The genius said that the only cause for this would be a faulty sim and that there was no way the phone was at fault and to contact the network because it wasn’t apples problem.
After trying a new sim, the problem got worse and apple did replace the phone but only after they were told that the network wanted it to be replaced. So my other half has a completely new iphone (with no scratches so far!) but only after getting the backing of the network with a major fault. Safe to say we were not impressed with either the customer service or the patronising nature of the genius.
