Iphone 3g screen or LCD broken?
Hey guys, the wife dropped her 3g last night and there is a crack running from the left to the right. The display behind it still looks perfect, but the unlock finger swipe isn't working, and the power down swipe will only work until your finger hits the crack (runs left to right, about an inch down, and moves to the top right). I'm 99% sure this is just a glass issue since the picture is fine, but can someone else verify this. I've ordered just the glass, then got to thinking about the LCD.
Ok, I kind of figured that but was hoping someone who has seen true LCD damage would know. I'm assuming that if the LCD were damaged there would be picture bleeding or missing pictures. I am also assuming that the glass is the part that has the touch/swipe sensors, so if that is the function not working then it is a glass issue.

Iphone 4 screen went blurry after lcd replacement.
On my iphone 4, Lcd was broken, I bought a new lcd and tried to change myself, but when i am done everything, my iphone 4 screen went blurry with many different colourful lines, and finally screen stays white, i can't use it at all. How can i fix it? BTW when i tried to fix it using itunes my phone keeps rebooting so Itunes couldn't fix it, so i sense there is problem on hardware still. Thanks in advance.
There is no software fix for a hardware problem. This is most definitely a hardware problem. Your best bets are either send it out to someone who does professional iPhone repairs or buy a new phone.

IIf the battery was completely drained it might take some time before the phone will respond. Wait at least 30 minutes with the phone connected to the charger. Then reset your device. Press and hold the Home and Sleep buttons simultaneously until the Apple logo appears. Let go of the buttons and let the device restart. If the phone starts up let it continue to charge until it's 100%.
if the broken button will not let you do the reset Make an appointment at an Apple Store to have your device examined by a technician. Or contact Apple Support. -
My iphone 4s' screen is broken. I haven't dropped it or anything, or else it must've shown through its physical appearance. It just went into hazy white and green and now i cannot use it. Can i have a replacement for it? Thanks
Apple doesn't replace the screen, they replace the entire phone. If you've tried the basics (restart, reset, restore from backup, restore as new) and your screen is still broken, bring it to Apple for replacement. If you're not in the warranty period, you will pay $199 for the replacement.

My iphone 4s' screen is black, but it's still on and charging. I broke my lock screen button so I am unable to turn it off using the home button and lock button. Is there any other way my phone can restart or turn off ? Is my phone broken for sure?

Most intelligent people would not store such sensitive data on a device that could so easily be lost, stolen, or damaged. Even if they chose to do so, they would use the device as designed and regularly sync and backup that device as described in the User's Guide.

I dropped iPhone 1 in the toilet and it is water damaged- it still turns on, charges, etc. but I'm pretty sure it's shot because it always wants to turn off, and things don't work all the time. I am wondering if I can take the screen off this one and put it on another iPhone 4s that has a broken screen but works fine otherwise. Do the screens have some sort of electronic part that could be damaged by water, or is it possible to switch the screens?
Are you capable of doing such? If so, go for it.

Broken iPhone 5 Screen... Cost to Replace???
I had the un-lucky distinction to become the first person to break their iPhone 5 screen in my entire county. I went to our local repair shop and they said with the new technology replacement parts were extremely expensive and hard to find. After $350, two "defective" replacement screens, and 3 weeks later, the owner of the repair shop gave me the new screen off his personal iPhone 5 (which really was a stand up gesture). I was just wondering if iPhone 5 screen replacments were as expensive for you in the community. Once again to summarize:

I am having the SAME exact problem! Except instead of lock button broken it's my home button so I can't do the whole "put in recovery mode" deal. My screen only says "tap the home button 3 times" and it has my screen locked until I hit the home button but since it is broken I can't get in my phone at all. I have all of my work info in my phone so I'm screwed and can't get any help. PLEASE let me know if you find a way around this...!!!
