IPhone 3G still connecting to 2.4 GHz N network. How is that possible?

I have an Extreme N that is set to 2.4 GHz N and extended with an Express N. Question is, how is it possible that my iphone 3G and touch are still connecting to WiFi? Should they not even see my N network since the are both G?

Kind of odd... Mine did the same thing with my extreme. I have it set to 2.4 N only and yet my iphone picked it up and connected with no problems. Are we certain that they didn't stuff an N card in there? I know what the specs say but it clearly saw and connected to the router. I'm a network engineer and know what mine is set to. In fact, I checked it.

Emails are l "stuck" in my Apple Mail Outbox. I have deleted the account and reinstalled but still have the problem. Apple's "Network Diagnostics" report that it cannot connect to the SMPT server. TalkTalk (Tiscali) say there is no problem with their server because I have checked and can send emails with their webmail.

    No that is not it:
Open Mail>Preferences>Accounts, the first page has this on it
If you click on the server name in the box (gmail in your case I assume) it opens and reveals this:
If you select Edit SMTP Server list you get this:
Post it here and, select the Advanced Tab (which looks like this)
    Post this page as well.

  • How can I still receive a text when everything is off?  Wi-fi is off, cellular is off, EVERYTHING IS OFF. I should be off the radar completely, and yet I still receive a text message.  How is that possible?

So, I'm not a noob when it comes to I-phone.  I haven an iphone 5-c.  I'm very cautious of privacy settings, etc.  99% of the time, I have everything turned off.  No matter what, if I have everything turned off, I will still get a text message.  How is that possible?  I do have I-message turned off, so the only thing that "should" get through would be an SMS message, but if my cellular is turned off, and my wi-fi is off...nothing else turned on....  How in the **** do I still receive a text?  When I have everything turned off, I can't make a call...I can't check my e-mail etc...So, how is this possible?
Please, help explain!  This is disturbing.

Thank you for your reply, but I guess I'm confused as to what that means.  I was under the assumption that if I turned off my cellular service in settings, as well as everything else, then my phone would technically be off.  As in OFF.  So, how would I turn my phone completely off from receiving calls and/or texts while it's still technically powered on?
    Thanks again for any help.

Having AppleTV remember the password is optional.
Logout of iTunes store, log back in and hopefully next time you come to purchase you'll be prompted for your password but decline the option to remember it.  You might also want to look out of parental controls on the unit.

My photos from iPhone 6 appear in PNG format instead of JPG.  How can that be changed?

When using iCloud to download them, you are going through the wrong procedure. That PNG file you are downloading is just the thumb nail. Open the image in the browser, then look to the menu at the top. you will see an icon that looks like a cloud with a downward pointing arrow. Click that to download the image.
Syncing with Windows I can't help you with. I don't directly sync my iOS devices.

Nothing to worry about. If you open Settings and scroll down and tap Phone, you will see "Respond with Text" and one of the standard replies on mine is "Can't talk right now ... I'll call you later." I would guess that a button got hit while in your bag.

  • Messages says my old iPhone is still connected

I just had a little pop up on my iPhone 5 that said "iPhone Blah" is connected to my Messages account. The only thing I can think of is that it's the iPhone 4S that I just recently sold. Before shipping the 4S, I transfered my AT&T account to the 5, and wiped the 4S using the "erase all content and settings" option. I was sick at the time, so I forgot to pull the SIM card out, but it should be useless anyway, I thought.
In "Find my iPhone", I don't see the old device as active, nor do I see the new device name.
How can I be sure that my messages are not going to some other person?

You can delete it whenever you want, to use it to restore your new phone from...
Navigate to Settings > General > Software Update and install any updates available.
Navigate to Settings > General > Reset > Erase all contents and settings on the device you want to restore.
When this completes and the Set-Up Assistant starts, choose "Restore from iCloud Backup" and enter your iCloud account and password. You will see the three most recent backups for each of the devices on which you enabled Backup. Choose which backup to restore from.

  • My iPhone won't connect with my computer or charge. How can I fix this?

My iPhone won't connect with my computer. It also will not charge. I changed the white charging cord, but I have the same problem. I connected other devices to the USB and they work. It's strictly the iPhone.
    How can I correct this?

I forgot to mention, the iPhone does charge via wall plug.

  • Why did my iPhone suddenly stop connecting to my home wi-fi network?

I have had the phone for about a week.  It connected to my home wi-fi network perfectly.  Yesterday, I suddenly lost connection and when I went to rejoin the network, it took me several tries and various methods recommended by other forums before it would finally connect.  Today the same thing happened, after working perfectly fine for the first part of the day.  Except now, I can't get it to rejoin at all.  Just wondering if anyone has ideas as to what the problem might be, before I contact technical support.

By the way, I didn't have any software updates, nor did I change any settings prior to this happening.

  • Apple says my iPhone 5 is locked but I'm currently using it in a different country. How is that possible??

HOw insist that I can use it in a different country when Apple says it's locked?!

You need to ask the carrier the iPhone is locked to, to officially unlock, nothing Apple can do.

  • I recently switched to Virgin Mobile, and was wondering if I could send my iphone in, and switch it for a virgin mobile one. Is that possible?

I recently switched to virgin mobile, and was wondering if I could send in my iPhone and get a virgin mobile one instead. Is that possible??

You can sell it on eBay or Craigslist and buy a new one. I had an AT&T iPhone 4S and switched to virgin. I bought the iPhone 4 and sold my 4s for $350 on Craigslist. It cost me about $100 for the new phone after all was said and done.

  • Why doesn't my iPhone 5,2 (iOS8) want to connect to 2,4 ghz wifi networks anymore?

Only when I'm next to the wifi router I can connect to a 2,4 ghz network. When I move 1 or 2 meters, the connection just drops out. With 5 ghz network there's no problem at all. How can I figure out if this is a software or hardware problem., and what is a possible solution? My iPhone turned 2 years old recently, so I guess I don't have to count on any warranty or other support?

    Hi,
MY network at home was originally  set up as a 2.4 ghz network, it worked fine until a week ago. By changing it I noticed my wifi on my iPhone was working again. The problem is however at work for example it's probably also 2.4 ghz. Because I cant connect, only when standing nearby the router. That's why I'm wondering how I can figure this out, is it software, hardware or something else. Tried resetting and restarting. But none of it seemed to solve the problem.
