IPhone 3G tilt sensor not calibrated correctly

Hi-
I activated an iPhone 3G today and I've noticed the tilt sensor is broken/mis-calibrated. An install of a iPhone 'level' app confirms that it is off by about 5 degrees. For instance, if I play a driving game and hold the phone level, I'll drive around in counter-clockwise circles
Is there a way to re-calibrate or did I get a dud?
Thanks-
-KR

Each app that incorporates the Phone's accelerometer typically has a calibrate feature built into the app.

I had a little time to elaborate with and getting involved more deeply. I found out that there was an old installation of IrfanView (some older version) which probably interacted with the iTunes. After unistallation both iTunes (including registry entries and all files from disk) and that sh*t (=IrfanView), the new iTunes installation ran properly and the problem was solved.
It could be caused by the exact combination of: Win7, iTunes 9 or 10, IrfanView, Lenovo T400 and probably something more I cannot recognize .
p.s. During the problem solution I bought me a brandnew iPhone 4 so I was able to test it both with iPhone 4 and iPhone 3. The result was - It does not matter what iPhone do you have...

  • Nike Sensor not calibrating...

Just got an itouch (3gen) and the Nike sensor. Read all the instructions and went out to do a walk. While on it I noticed that it wasn't showing any distance and no pace.
I do not have Nike shoes but bought the Bean Pod to place the sensor in. Could it have something to do with it? I was reading somewhere too that there could be a possibility that the sensor is not in it correctly. Which way does it need to face?
    Any help would be grateful!!
    Edit
I think I figured it out and it was that the sensor was not position correctly. For others maybe having this issue the red part needs to be pointed upward.

  • Iphone 6 proximity sensor not working any more

    Dear apple users,
A few weeks ago i dropped my iphone 6 and my screen broke, so I decided to fix it. I ordered a screen online and changed it. Every thing seemed to be fine until i tried to call somebody, because my screen didn't turn off when calling, yet my light sensor did work. So I took it apart again and again and again but it didn't change anything. I went online and read on some forum that you had to tape it off in order to keep light from getting into the sensor. So i tried but also this didn't work. I really don't know what to do now, does anyone know how to fix this problem? By the way, I should just have brought it to apple, but I thought this would be a lot mor expensive and take a lot more time. But after all I should have never done this
    With kind regards,
    Joost Bun

Sorry, but as you already wrote, you should have never done this, and Apple will not service the phone anymore after you have opened the phone.
Your only chance would be finding a 3rd party repair service that can fix that for you. And we can't help you either, due to the Terms of Use in these discussions.
    Good Luck anyway.

  • IPhone bluetooth Windows 7 not working correctly.

Just upgraded my computer to an Asus P8P67 which has built in bluetooth (Atheros). Was messing around trying to see what features I had connecting my iPhone to my computer via bluetooth. When I try to pair it the pair seems to work however when it installs the driver while pairing it says it installs "Not Supported Bluetooth Function" as a driver. The phone does say it connects via bluetooth however as far as I can tell I don't have the features that I should have. When I double click the phone under Devices and Printers it opens up the properties for the phone instead of the screen that shows options like syncing.
    So I have two questions:
Is my phone connecting properly? If not is there a known fix for the issue?
What features should I have when connecting my iPhone 3GS to my Windows 7 computer?
I have tested the bluetooth connection with another device and it seems to work fine.

Is it possible to answer calls incoming to my iPhone on my bluetooth connected Windows 7 computer? I have handsfree turned on in the bluetooth settings and the ringtone is going through my computer however when a call comes in I don't see anything on my computer that would let me answer the call, so I have to answer it on the phone still.

  • Proximity sensor not working correctly...screen won't turn back on!

Alright so I'm loving my iPhone 4, but I've been having one glaring issue: the proximity sensor turns off the screen during a call(as normal) but then the screen won't turn back on until I lock, force hangup and lock again. Very frustrating because I was unable to dial a number to be transferred while in a call. Seems like the same issue is going on with other iPhone generations upgrading to iOS4 in the other forum sections, but I'd never think it to happen with a brand new 4. Could it have been my restore file from my 3GS?
Anyone else having this issue? Thanks.

If resetting the phone from Settings -> General -> Reset -> Reset All didn't do the trick, try doing a hard reset: at the same time, press and hold the home button (bottom of the phone) and power/sleep button (top of the phone) until it restarts. That seems to do the trick for almost everyone.
Will doing the hard reset lose all my settings and data, like the erase iPhone option?
Or will it just reboot it keeping all settings etc?
    Many thanks.

  • Screen not calibrated correctly

    Hi,
I've had my iPhone for ages now and have had quite a few problems with it... Cracked glass twice etc... The problem I have now is that the screen seems to have "decalibrated" itself. It doesn't register the touch where it actually happens. For example when i want to turn the iphone off, i have to swipe in the middle of the screen to control the slider which is on top... This has already happened once... Back then, I tried everything that could possibly work to fix it, numerous reboots, a restore etc. just to find that nothing works, I had it fixed by my carrier...
It happened when i was walking home,I was listening to some music, when I needed to switch to a different song it worked perfectly, but when i got home and took the iPhone out of my pocket it started having this problem again... I haven't tried restoring yet, will do, but I doubt that it will work. I've never heard of another person on Earth having this problem, yet here I am having it for the second time.
Thanks very much for replying, I love my iPhone but i feel like throwing it out of the window now...

Restore the phone. If that doesn't fix it, restore it as new. If that doesn't fix it, make an appointment at the genius bar. There is no way to re-calibrate the screen.

  • 27" Cinema Display & 17" Macbook Pro not calibrating correctly

I've had my 17" macbook pro hooked up to a 27" viewsonic LCD monitor for about a year.  The colors have never been right, as many times that I tried calabrating them through the built in Apple calabration system, or if I use my X-rite I1Disply 2.  Today, I bit the bullet and bought the 27" Apple Cinema Display and nothing changed, the colors are still off.  The monitor looks slightly warmer than the laptop. I'm a wedding photographer, so it can be frustrating not being able to use the bigger monitor to edit.  Thanks in advance for you help...

Would changing the contrast help?  I don't know, I'm just asking, because there is a contrast control in the Universal Access preferences Seeing tab.

Had my 5s since Saturday and have noticed that the screen is making a plastic creaking sound when pressed on the top right of the screen!! Very annoying apple!!!

My 5s did exactly as you describe only on the left side of the display.
I exchanged mine as this is unacceptable and does not bode well for long term durability (on the creaky units).

I am trying to set up my Palm TX and the touch screen is not calibrated correctly.  When I touch an icon on the right side of the screen, it looks as if I'm touching something on the left side of the screen.  This is very frustrating.  I've heard that I might need to do a hard reset on the Palm, but need assistance. Can anyone help me?

Hello and thank you for using the Palm Help Forums!
First I would go into your Preferences on the device. In there click "Touchscreen" then Allign Screen. Tap on the targets the most accurately you can. The target will shift 3-4 times during this process. After the allignment is complete see if you are experiencing the same issue. If so, you may need to hard reset the device.
I hope this is helpful and let me know how it works out.

  • IOS 5 Safari touch is not calibrated

Safari on iOS 5 is not responsding to the touch. We have a website that was working fine iOS4 and with upgrade to iOS5, the website has been very unreliable. The touch is not calibrated correctly, the focus lands atleast 3-5 mm above the touch point. This happens after using the website for a while, sometimes a simple refload of the web page works but most of the time there is no work around.
Any inputs would be very helpful, thank you.
    Thanks,
    Rob.

My point is that it isn't an iOS 5 issue. If it were you would see threads with half a million views on the subject (like the battery life threads). It is an issue with your phone. Can you make voice calls? Is your phone jailbroken? If it was, and you updated it, you have bricked it.

  • Image calibration ( correction for tilt)

    Hi
I am using labview 7.x with pci 6013 and imaq1407 and am grabbing images using a camera which is at some angle to the image (flat/horizontal).As we know,a circle looks like an ellipse from an angle and some perspective correction can be done to get the actual image(circle) back.Does anyone know how to do this ? My images are not circlular ,but I hope I can apply the same correction for all the images (which look tilted).
I am working on these vis right now and am attaching those here .I am using following subvis:
    imaq learn calibration
    imaq set calibration info
    imaq correct calibrated image
Output of the "imaq learn calibration" subvi is "calibrated image".But it's not calibrated image in literal sense,it's just an image that is being used to learn calibration i.e. it is a calibration template not a "calibrated image".Even the image that comes out of "imaq set calibration info" is called "calibrated image" , but it is not.It is the output of "imaq correct calibrated image" that looks like a calibrated image. But sometimes it is upside down or rotated.
Is there anyway I can eliminate this rotation ?
    Thanks for sparing your time.
    Cheers

spatial correction for an image.vi ‏35 KB

    Hi Arves
Thanks a lot for such a quick reply!
Coordinates for the image are defined the way you mentioned in terms of pixels.I am using "learn calibration.vi" to change the coordinate system  (it has option for choosing the origin and direct/indirect axes).I want to calibrate my images using a standard grid taking origin at the center of the image rather than the origin of actual image.I have attached the image that I get after "learncalibration.vi" .Image that I get from the "imaqcorrect.vi" is the mirror image of this , taking horizontal axis as mirror. So now I am using "symmetry.vi" to get the image back ,but I suppose "imaqcorrect.vi" should not be doing this.
Also another question, why does "imaqcorrect.vi" changes the size of the image ? There is an option for preserving the area and so the size in the subvis. But how should one go about choosing one of these options ? Can you name couple of applications where one option is better over other?
In "learncalibration.vi",we have two choices for distortion correction-perspective and non-linear.How these are different ?Correction I am looking for should come under perspective (in a litera sense) , but I am using non-linear option as it is done in one of example vis.
    Thanks
