Iphone 3G touch screen doesn't works the bottom stripe

Goodmornig, sorry for my english...it's not very well!!
I have an iPhone 3g updated to version 4.2.1. When I should write a message, or I do need to enter a password, for example, to access a wireless network, I can't press the button _ 123 that change the QWERTY keyboard into the numeric one, or the space bar or enter key. I have the same problem if I select the messages to delete, I can't press the red button on the lower left. However, from the home screen If I press the green icon "Phone" I can go from "Favorites" to "Recent" to "Contacts" to "Pad" to "Secretariat".
Could be a software problem?
Changing the touch pannel would change something?
Thanks to all!

Hello, I had the same problem on my iPhone 4. I tried restoring, restarting, etc, which did not work. In my frustration I started furiously tapping the bottom strip of the screen (the dock with the icons) with two fingers, and after about ten seconds of this the screen started functioning fully again. It is likely that my previous restoring and restarting is what actually fixed the phone, and my unorthodox screen tapping solution may have just been a coincidence instead of an actual cure, but my screen did start working right after the tapping, and I just wanted to make sure I posted this in case it helps someone else. I'm sorry to hear your screen is broken, I hope it gets fixed soon.

  • Built in microphone and touch screen doesn't work

    Hi
I have problems with two things, my built in microphone doesn't record anything, also I tried all suggested steps of HP support.
    Windows recognizes the microphone.
The touch screen doesn't work the touch part, but the display is working good.
Also i tried to update Drivers, but looks like Windows does not recognized the touch screen, when I going to Control Panel and search for touch screen stuff, I do not see anything.
I hope you can help me to fix this.
    Thank you.

    Hi @ldiego008 ,
Thank you for visiting the HP Support Forums and Welcome. I have looked into your issue about your HP ENVY TouchSmart m7 Notebook and the microphone and the Touchscreen not working correctly. If you follow this document it will show you how to correct this issue on the Touchscreen.
Try following  this document document on Resolving Microphone and Line-in issues for Windows 8.1.
Here is something else that might help if you need it. If you go to the Device Manager (Audio inputs and outputs)and uninstall it from there restart the computer it should automatically reinstall it for you. This link shows you the Device Manager Screen shots that might help.
Hope this helps with both issues.
    Thanks.

  • I cant open apps on my iPhone 4 the touch screen doesn't work.  I have restored my phone and still nothing works.

I can't open apps on my iPhone.  The touch screen doesn't work.  I have restored it already but it still won't work.  What can I do.

If the touch screen is not having any response then you probably have a hardware failure. Take your phone to an Apple Store or authorised service provider to have it checked.

Do a reset, hold down the home/sleep button together until you see the apple logo and then release, then wait for the device to boot back up.

How can I back up an iphone when I haven't set the phone up for back ups & the touch screen doesn't work? The phone can receive calls (not answer) & the pictures & messages can be seen but the touch screen doesn't work to unlock the phone or select anything. We want to save/transfer pictures, contacts, and music to the replacement phone.

Try backing it up to your computer with iTunes.  Connect it to your computer, open iTunes, click on the name of the phone in iTunes, go to the Summary tab of your iTunes sync settings and click Back Up Now.  Also go to File>Devices>Transfer Purchases to transfer you apps and other purchased media to your iTunes library.

You need to do more research before you make purchases like this. You've wasted your money. The ONLY officially unlocked iPhone model sold in the US is the GSM model, and that model is only sold by Apple. That's the model iPhone you should have purchased.
Did you read & understand my initial post? Especially this part:
The unlocking of the GSM portion is just for International travel in order to use local sims. You still have to pay Sprint for the use of their international GSM partner’s network on a “pay as you go basis”.

Have you tried a reset To see if that fixes it ? Press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.

I have an iPod touch 2nd generation and my touch screen doesn't work, at all. What should I do?

    Try:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Restore from backup. See:
    iOS: How to back up
    - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
If still problem, make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.
Apple Retail Store - Genius Bar
Apple will exchange your iPod for a refurbished one for this price. They do not fix yours. I say not worth it for a 2G
    Apple - iPod Repair price
A third-party place like the following maybe less. Google for more. Again, likely not worth it for a 2G

Replace the screen yourself if you are up to it

iphone 5 touch screen has stoped working all of a sudden, help?

    Hello there, shankate1993.
The following Knowledge Base article offers up some great steps for troubleshooting issues with touchscreen response on your iOS device:
If the screen on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch doesn't respond to touch - Apple Support
    Fix your touchscreen
Make sure your hands are clean and dry, then try these steps:
If you have a case or screen protector on your device, try removing it.
Clean the screen with a soft, slightly damp, lint-free cloth.
    Unplug your device.
Restart your device. If you can't restart, reset your device.
If your touchscreen still doesn't respond like it should, contact Apple Support or take your device to an Apple Retail Store or Apple Authorized Service Provider.
Thanks for reaching out to Apple Support Communities.
    Cheers,
    Pedro.

  • My palm m105's touch screen doesn't work properly after a sync.

I dug out my old m105, put new batteries in and start it. On first launch it auto runs the alignment tool, and after touching all the points it goes to the main screen and works fine. No problem till here.
Now, I plug it into my old computer which still has the palm software with my apps, and I run the sync operation (from the palm device sync manager, cause I lost my cradle and I'm connected via the serial cable), and it syncs fine BUT, here comes the problem, when it finishes the sync (successfully) the touch screen is all misaligned. I can't go back to the home screen or do anything useful.

  • Touch screen doesn't work!!!

I got my TP two weeks ago, played with it for a day and a half then, in the middle of surfing the web, the touch screen doesn't work. I've contacted HP support and sent my device in for repair. I got it back two days ago (12/30/2011), worked totally fine for 20 mins and the touch screen didn't work again. I've tried using WebOS Doctor 3.0, 3.0.2, 3.0.4 nothing works.
I've tried rebooting it multiple times, still doesn't work. Frustrating I must say....
    Any suggestions?

Gotcha, so I just want to make sure I'm following you correctly. At this point the screen is probably all black from the auto-turn-off thing. You hit the power button, and the little yellow lock icon appears on the bottom. But when you try to drag the little lock icon, nothing happens. Does that describe what's happening to you?

  • Dropped my phone and now I see almost-transparent lines on my lock screen and the touch screen doesn't work. Help?

I was walking to my garage when my iPhone slipped out of my hand and fell on the floor. I looked at it and saw strange almost-transparent lines on my lock screen. I tried to unlock my phone, but it wouldn’t let me do anything. It was almost as the touch screen wasn’t working. I turned it off and plugged in my phone to the charger and it started up automatically, but it still looked the same and wouldn’t work. I think that my iPhone 5 might be broken? Please help!

  • Touch screen doesn't work after Vista Home64-bit upgrade to Windows 7 64-bit Home Premium on IQ506

Hello, right before I upgraded to Win7, I made sure that the Touchsmart software worked and that the touch screen itself worked. As soon as I performed the upgrade (not the clean upgrade that wipes all your existing data, but rather the upgrade that carries over your applications and files), the touch screen ceased to work.
I didn't panic, thinking that I probably had to run some windows/hp updates, which I did to no avail. I also manually updated ALL the driver/software files found at this link http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareList?os=4063&lc=en&dlc=en&cc=us〈=en&product=3752245
Yup, every single one. As a last resort, I tried some of the HP troubleshooting for touch screens not working. It said to shut down the computer, pull the plug on the computer, hold the power button for 5 seconds, plug the computer back in, and boot it up again. Didn't help at all.
I'm at the end of my rope and there is no additional HP support on this. I'm waiting for a reliable driver update for win7 for this **bleep** touch screen. I'm dead in the water -- I've got a touchscreen computer whose touchscreen doesn't work! Someone else out there must be having this problem! Any leads?

Did you try installing the Touch Driver?

  • My X6 16GB touch screen doesn't work :-(

The mobile was in my jeans when i was in class. Then i pulled it out afterwards. The touch screen wasn't working. But all the other keys are working fine. I've tried hard reseting my phone, but the thing is i've put on a lock code. So whenever i turn my cell on it asks for lock code which i can't input cause of the touch screen being down. Now i really wanna get my precious data out of the mass memory. The phone memo doesn't matter since i got backup. Will it help if i attach it to a ovi suite ? Any ideas ? Please help mr. Admin

Hey Mahm00d27, Welcome to the Nokia forums!
Sorry to hear about your damaged screen
Are you ble to plug your device into your PC via USB and enter mass storage mode? from here you should b able to create a a backup of your memory.
You can also create a backup using Nokia suite and continue to reinstall the operating system using Nokia Suite.
Another useful software to backup your data would be Nokia PC suite.
If you are unable to retrieve your data, please take your device to your local Nokia Care point where an expert should be able to safely restore your device.
    I hope this helps!
