IPhone 3g ultracompact usb adapter and travel

Hello all,
I'll be travelling abroad for several months and I was wondering if the following is correct. I read the back of the Ultracompact Usb adapter that came with my iphone and it says that it will accept Input: 100 - 240v ~ 50/60hz. I know the U.S. uses 110v and Europe uses 220/230v. Am I right in assuming that provided I have an adapter for the plug, this will accept power from a European outlet without incident? Meaning, if I plug this is in Europe, it won't fry my iPhone 3G, correct?

All iPod/iPhone adapters work overseas. I use them all the time, no need to worry.

You can only add songs to your iOS device from iTunes via Wi-Fi sync or via your cable, not Bluetooth.

That's an entirely different issue, unrelated to your iOS devices.

Are you connecting your iPhone directly to your PC or to a USB hub?

  • How can find the difference  between iphone 5 Real Genuine adapter and fake adapter

Can anyone please tell me, How Can Find Difference between iphone 5 Real Genuine adapter and fake adapter....

That's about the only way. Many of the fakes are indistinguishable from genuine without taking them apart. See: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wi-b9k-0KfE Note that BOTH of the adapters in this video are fake. Yet the one on the left looks identical to the "real thing".

  • Lightning usb adapter and connecting devices

I purchased a lightning usb adapter and when i connect my wi drive to it, a message comes up sayin "device requires too much power" how do i fix this?

There is no "lightning USB adapter", per se. If you are referring to the Camera Connection Kit, the iPad does not support direct connection to external storage except for flash drives containing photos, and then only if the drive is set up in a very specific way. Please tell us what specific adapter you have and what this "drive" is that you are trying to connect.
BTW, you posted in a forum intended for 1990's era hardware. I've asked the Hosts to move the thread to the iPad forum.

  • Safe to charge iPhone with Blackberry USB adapter?

I have the small wall-plug-to-USB adapter from my Blackberry that looks like the one below. Is it safe to use a standard Apple 30 pin + USB connecter (pictured below the Bberry connector) with it to charge my iPhone 4S? Otherwise I have to buy a second Apple-branded connector to have one at both home and work.

usb is 5volt ios devices can charge with anything that provide 5volts
if the charger don't follow the usb std and provide 50volts the phone will explode

  • IPhone Issues with USB Connection and Bluetooth in GM cars

I recently purchased a 2009 Chevy Cobalt SS/TC and it has a USB connection for an iPod. Prior to the 2.1 updated the USB connection worked flawless as well did my handsfree/bluetooth. I had the Apple Genius Bar check my iPhone for any issues due to a corrupt update but everything turned up fine. When i connect to my car I receive an error message (iPod Did Not Authenticate. Check iPod Version). Also my bluetooth will sync but when you answer the phone using hands free you get no audio from the iPhone or speakers in the car. I used a friends iPod and everything worked fine but when I connect with a new iPod it displays the same error. I have contacted GM but they said talk to Apple.
If anyone can help please let me know.
    Thanks

    Hey J,
Well you got me thinking about your question, and I guess I didn't get it the first time. Again, I own the same car - 09 Chevy Cobalt SS/TC, Black. A lot of fun! I plugged my iPhone into the radio USB connection and get the same error. The GM radio does not support the iPhone. It will not authenticate. The GM radios' firmware is looking for an iPod, not an iPhone. That is expected. As far as the iPhone and it's Bluetooth, again the iPhone's Bluetooth hands free works fine, except I cannot answer the iPhone during an incoming call without first unlocking the iPhone then pressing the mute button on the steering wheel. For what it's worth the iPhone will charge through the USB connection. I'm a little confused on what you are trying to connect. Bottom line, an iPod should always work, an iPhone, not at all. Lastly, I have purchased the GM Personal Audio Link (PAL) and hope to use it with my iPod so I can put the iPod in the glove compartment. Although I have heard a lot of negative comments and issues with it for being slow and sluggish. If so, I'll be sending it back and I'll stay with the USB connection. I'll let you know how that works.

  • Linksys usb adapter and TC

I'm planning on purchasing an iMac and using Time Capsule. Currently I'm running two Windows machines, using a Linksys wireless router. On my dying desktop, I'm using a linksys usb adapter. If I hook up the time capsule to my modem and configure my iMac (does it have to be ethernet wired to TC during setup process?} will I still be able to access the new TC router with my current linkys usb adapter or do I have to install some sort of TC software on my windows machine, which if so, would concern me, since I'm down to about 200mb on my C: drive and can't find much, other than restore points, to free up any space to install anything).
My plan is to transfer all my Windows stuff to new iMac and then retire this old desktop (while continuing to run a Windows XP sp2 laptop with built-in wireless b)
    Thanks,
    Mark

No, but that can be useful if AirPort Utility on the iMac has trouble "seeing" the TC.
will I still be able to access the new TC router with my current linkys usb adapter
    I would expect so.
or do I have to install some sort of TC software on my windows machine
    No.

  • I have a 2013 Buick Enclave with Pandora icon on the screen. I was told that to connect my iphone 5 with USB port and that worked. But as soon as I disconnected, Pandora went out on screen. Only works plugged in now. Should work without USB connected.

I have a 2013 Buick Enclave with Pandora and Stitcher on the nav screen. With my Samsung S3, Pandora automatically lit up and worked. with new iphone5, I was told I need to connect USB port to car and phone and start Pandora. That worked and the icon on screen lit up. but as soon as I removed the USB cord, Pandora and Stitcher greyed out and stopped working. I know it's supposed to work on the car's nav screen once I hardwire it (at least that's what I was told), but as soon as I disconnect, they stop working through the car.  How can I install Pandora and Stitcher on my car WITHOUT having the usb cord attached? the idea is to be able to use the car's touch screen to control Pandora, but with the phone plugged into the USB port, I can only use the phone to control Pandora, which of course is dangerous when driving!  And it worked correctly with the samsung, so I have to believe it can work with the iphone 5! Right?  Thanks.

You cannot install the apps on the car.
The cars head unit is merely acting as an interface to the apps on the device.
If you want to use those apps in the car, plug the device in and leave it plugged in.

  • Xperia Z1, Problem with OTG and Sony PS3 Headset Pulse USB Adapter

Hi, I did a bit of testing, with headphones Sony PS3 Wireless Headset Pulse , I state that both the adapter and the Sony Pulse Headphones work perfectly on PC and PS3 via the USB adapter , then connect the adapter via USB OTG connection on the Sony Xperia Z1 . With much regret I noticed that the connection between the USB adapter and headphones was established , but the audio was transmitted jerky and scratchy . So I decided to try again via USB OTG headphones Logitech F540 (again, via USB OTG, not via audio jack) , and with much enthusiasm I noticed a connection quick and efficient , without cawing and smoothly ; clear sound as if they were of the headphones connected directly to the Audio Jack with wire . I then decided to try another pair of headphones USB (for PC) , the Creative HS -1200 , connecting via the USB OTG adapter receiver headphones ( ie the same thing I did with Sony and the Logitech ) ; also in this case the Creative Wireless Headphones have received the sound from the USB receiver , without any problem or distortions . Now I want to understand how it might work all this variety of USB devices not Made by Sony , connected via the OTG port , but do not work Devices Made By Sony ? You can solve this problem with the Firmware right?
The firmware installed in my Xperia Z1 is 14.1.G.1.534 .
The OTG cable is fully functional with a multitude of devices (USB HD 2.5 Inch, USB pendrive, USB Audio, USB Mouse and keyboard).
For your info, I already tried to connect the OTG, to a powered USB 2.0 HUB, and on the HUB USB, connect the adapter from Sony and the result is one and the same. The USB adapter will light as the Sony Z1 directly connected to the OTG, but the sound from the speakers gets crackling and jerky. I tried to connect the USB adapter of Sony headphones, and then connect the cable from USB jack to the audio jack of Z1, and of course the audio works perfectly, because it bypasses the USB audio sent by Z1, going to use the 'Jack audio input, and using the USB Headset adapter (Sony Pulse) as a simple transmitter.
Thank you to anyone reply to this.
Edit: i have try with samsung S3 and Samsung S4 with OTG and the Sony HeadSet Pulse work fine with the USB Dongle. The problem is on the firmware audio of the Xperia Z1.

    Two possibility
    The driver is not right
Or the second i know and it's not possible to fix  , they can happen on any audio device with any pc or other host
You can try your headset over a usb hub with a extern power source and connect the usb hud on your phone ,  if this not continu it's a power problem with the usb port
Sometime a usb port cannot provide suffisent power and that affect the audio or any data transfer , a usb hub provide on each port the power they need so when you cronnect your headset that give the good power to him
Few friends know this issue with a variety of device
One use one device on each port on his pc and there happen the pc cannot provide suffisent power for his headset , I suggest to use the minimal on his usb port and he don't have the problem , I suggest to buy a usb port power by an external source and that fixed the problem
If his your problem no update can fix that for fixing you need a Y cable to give more power to the usb port of your celphone and using a external power source (portable charging , solar panel custom 5v usb port with AA batterie)

  • 4th Gen. ipod. No longer charges from wall socket. Still can charge from computer. Wall power adapter and cord both work fine on other devices. Wall Why?

4th Generation ipod. Used to charge fine from wall socket (cord and USB adapter) and could also charge on the computer. Suddenly stopped charging from the wall. The same cord and adapter still work for my iphone, so there is not problem with either of them. What has changed? Why won't the ipod charge from the wall anymore? Is there anything I can do about it?

Thanks! It didn't actually work with the one I was using to charge the computer either. We had tried the computer cable with the power adapter, and it didn't  work to charge the ipod, though it does charge my iphone. Following your idea further,  I waited for my husband to get home from a trip and tried one of his extra cables he keeps in his backpack. That cable worked in with the USB  power adaptor. I had thought that because the cable I use on my computer charges my iphone through the USB power adapter or the computer, and that it charged the ipod through the computer that it was fully functional. Apparantly not.  Thanks again.

  • How to record a USB mic and a guitar at the same time?

I have an Audio-Technia AT-2020 USB mic and an Ovation acoustic/electric guitar. I wanted to record both of them at the same time, so i plugged the mic into the USB port (duh!) and the guitar into the 1/8" port on the computer (with a 1/4" to 1/8" adapter and a male/male headphone cable). However, when i went to select the inputs for the diffrent tracks, it was either one or the other. My question is, do you need an audio interface to be able to do multitrack recording? If so, could I use a USB hub, 1/8" to USB adapter, and plug both the guitar and mic to fool the computer into thinking i have an audio interface? I would rather not spend money on an audio interface ($200) and a new mic ($120) when i already have something that could work!
Thanks to anyone who can help!

  • Utility or trick to get screenshots from USB-Adapter-driven monitor?

My main computer is a G5Quad, but this post relates to my MacBook.
Recently, I acquired a USB-(display card)Adapter ( http://eshop.macsales.com/item/NewerTech/VIDU2DVIA/                  ) to run the second one of my dual external monitors with my MacBook (not "Pro").
The first one of the external monitors was already connected to the MacBook through the regular external-monitor port, so this allowed for the use of both external monitors on the MacBook.
To my utter astonishment and delight, the arrangement works absolutely superbly. I ended up with an arrangement in which my desktop spans all three monitors, with my main monitor on the right (22" CRT) being the one connected directly to the MacBook's monitor port,  the center one (also a 22" CRT) conected through the above described USB adapter, and on the left the MacBook's own built-in monitor.
Working with Photoshop13 ("CS6") with all that screen real estate is like a dream.
The only thing that doesn't work is taking a screen shot of the center display, i.e. the one connected through the USB adapter.  Using Command_Shift_3 generates only screen-shot files from monitors one (right) and three (left), the center one is simply
    ignored.
Using Command_Shift_4 only in the center screen, I can hear the shutter-clack sound, but no image is generated again.  I've tried swapping the screens and connections around, and whichever is connected through the USB adapter is always ignored.
If anyone can suggest any trick or knows any utility that will help me get this done, I'd be much obliged.
Running Snow Leopard 10.6.8, and here are the MacBook's details:

    Thanks in advance.

Found the utility I was looking for:  SnapzProX2 does the job perfectly, by either taking a screen shot of just the secondary (center) monitor or one spanning the entire width of all three screens combined.
Alas, the utility costs $70.    I'll continue looking hoping to find something cheaper.
However, this proves that the USB-adapter is indeed working flawlessly and that it provides all the necessary information to capture a screen shot of the monitor it is driving.
So this is really an Apple problem, which I have no hope of seeing fixed, as Snow Leopard is no longer supported.
If somebody finds something else, please let us know.
