Iphone 3G Whiteout

I am an avid Apple fan. I have supported them for years, and now I have the new 3G. It took months of convincing my wife that the phone was worth signing a 2 year contract for, considering we have no AT@T or Apple stores in Myrtle Beach SC. I assured her that the 3G was going to be just as solid as our Ipods were. I finally got one 2 days ago. Within 48 hours, it has went completely white on the screen. I seems like everything still works but what good is that if you cant see the buttons? There is no fix, I spent all day trying. I have searched online and found that alot of people have this problem. I thought Apple products were bug free and solid as a rock? I have also found that Apple has a terrible warranty plan, with no water damage, drop damage, and loooooooong wait time to talk to a support rep. I can buy a warranty on any other phone for $10.00 a month and stomp on it right in front of the sales rep, with no questions. I had to pay 30.00 for a rental phone from Apple, which they try to scare you to death with deadlines for returning your phone , their phone, and holding 400.00 on your card covering their back in case you make a mistake. It is just a horrible experience to look forward to something like this phone and get so let down in every way. Even the service on it is terrible. Meanwhile I am sitting hear with a 2 day old, broken I phone, losing business as I type. Now that I am involved with a problem with an Apple product I see that they are not near what I thought they were. I bought a screen protector, a phone case, and a case that holds the case, an extended warranty and I didn't even drop it! If Apple dosen't fix this problem ASAP they will never get another penny from me.

I hope you have an Apple store or an AT@T nearby. Seems like we are in for a few warranty issues. Hopefully the fine folks at Apple will see this thread and send me an Imac and a couple unlocked debugged Iphones for my troubles. I set up my warranty on Saturday, and she assured me that I would have my phone in 24 hours. Still waiting. Goodluck!

Transfer your purchases to your computer, as you should on a regular basis anyway. Sync the other device with the updated iTunes library.

As you have discovered, ringtones can only be downloaded once so there is no other way to do it.

IPhone 5S Voice Memos

Hi everyone,
I have a problem with the voice memos.
I am using an iPhone 5S -> iOS7, back up from iPhone 4S (the voice memos were recorded in iPhone 4S).
Previously, my iPhone 4S had the same problem too.
The voice memos can't be found in the iPhone VoiceMemo app, but it can be seen from iTunes > On this iPhone > Voice Memos playlist.
The memos are greyed out in iTunes, but can be played.
Also, the checkbox in iTunes > Music > Include Voice Memos is unchecked.
Someone please teach me how to remove all the voice memos in my iPhone 5S and also from the iTunes.

Is there a way of getting a "schedule view" in iCal on a mac and on iPad in the same way you can get one on iPhone?

IS there a way to get a schedule view of events on a busy day in iCal on the iPad 2 Air and on the Macbook Pro? I can get this view on an iPhone.

I am paranoid that some untrusted technician is going to make a copy of my music (11,000 tracks) or share some of my personal information (scanned copies of my birth certificate, passport, certificates, photos, etc.) on the web.
If you put your info into the computer and hand it to another, you have to assume they will copy everything.
Why are you putting scanned copies of valuable identity information into a computer than can be hacked, stolen, lost or compromised by a dirty tech?

No. The tech would just deny it if he did, or tell the truth which the answer would be "NO" in either case.
The employer won't ask that sort of questions without solid proof, less they make a enemy of the employee and/or risk being sued for defamation of character.
It's not like they bother to have a team of people watching over his shoulder that he doesn't stick a USB thumb drive of your data into his pocket to take home.

If it's iTunes music, it has your personal ID embedded into the song files. Most IT techs know this though.

Too late now, all you can do is not worry about it.
Take your personal info out of the machine and if you need it, burn cd/dvd copies, a few USB thumb drives, Iron Keys or self encrypting external storage drives with key and/or keypad.

I want to use same icloud account on 2 iphones. The problem is with contacts, each iphone use different contacts and if I sync both phones with same account contacts mixes and is added from phone 1 in phone 2 and vice versa.
It is an option to separate the contacts and get them to each phone separately?

One iPhone can do it all.
This is a very usual case if someone has a personal phone number and a business phone number. This is done for a number of reasons, including having a separate bill for the business number and so you can avoid taking calls on the business phone when you are technically "unavailable".
Besides the group idea, there is absolutely nothing wrong with having two separate iCloud accounts for one's personal and business use. Just as with the phone number, the email contacts, email account, calendar, etc. can all be kept separate.

IPhone 3G no longer recognized by iTunes

I don't know what happened. I haven't changed any settings on my pc. I updated my phone software to 4.0.2 last week with no apparent problems. I think I've charged on my pc since but can't remember for sure. Now when I hook to usb, it goes on and off. Like not the power, but it (the iphone) will connect and show charging and I get the windows message that the apple camera is connected and what do i want to do. then it blinks off, like shows my welcome screen, not charging. then a few seconds later it shows up again and shows to be charging. it goes through this over and over. And iTunes does not recognize the iphone, says an error occurred.
Any thoughts or suggestions?

Perhaps a failing USB port (check with another device) or a failing iPhone docking cable. Could also be some debris in your docking port on the phone - have a look.

My question is simple and I'd like an exactly same answer : Can iPhone users send emails from their iPhone's to one or more groups created in Outlook?
This is my situation: our organization is using iPhone to provide email, calendar, contact, task etc. to some of their employees. We are using Airwatch MDM Agent on user's iPhone because we have an Airwatch server in place. I have an user and she has an iPhone 5 and she has created some groups in Outlook but these groups are not reflected in her Contacts in the iPhone. I have update her phone with the latest update, although I was almost sure that this was not the issue, then I've found some interesting posts on internet saying that this was a known problem for the users with the previous iOS but I thought this might has been corrected with the iOS, apparently not.
Also I've tried ''the trick'' that is posted on several forums with the iCloud but neither so it's working. I am looking for a straight answer, if this works or not on iPhone's?

You can try deleting the account on your iphone and setting it up again.

Suddenly coudn't access my mobileme email account. So I changed my password; and since I couldn't send email from my iphone 3G
I can send/receive emails from icloud webpage or Thunderbird.

I agree, unplug and replug your router, then reset your iPad by holding down the sleep and home buttons, ignore the red power down slider, and wait til you see the silver apple. let it reboot and then try your connection.
Chances are rebooting the router will help. You may also need to talk to cox. They may need to reset something on their end.

I talked with a tech today and he said I cloud is having problems which should be resolved shortly.
In the mean time I used the .me smtp server settings which allowed me to send mail.

Cannot send email from iPad & iPhone with Virgin Media

I cannot send emails from my iPad and iPhone. I have a virginmedia.com address and I can receive but just cannot send. A message keeps saying the smpt settings are wrong. However, I have followed the tutorial on Virgin Media web site (this is how I managed to start receiving emails on my devices) but still not sending. I have looked at the settings in my MacBook Pro and all seem to be correct. Does anyone have an idea what could be wrong? I had a similar problem when I loaded Microsoft Office 365 for Mac; I had to end up calling Virgin Media (useless) and then Microsoft (useful). Anyhow I have looked at the settings on the Mac and they all seem to correspond with the ipad and iphone but still cannot send emails. V V Frustrated.

Then make sure that the settings are correct in your email account.
Check the outgoing mail server setting. Make sure that your username and password are in there.
Settings>Mail, Contacts, Calendars>Your email account>Account>Outgoing mail server - tap the server name next to SMTP and check in the primary server and make sure your username and password are entered and correct - even if it says that the password is optional.

Hi - I've got a hold load of voice memos that were on my iPhone 4 which I did not label at the time. Now I'm trying to do some housework on my 5s and would like to label said memos but I can't. Any ideas please? Many thanks.

You can email it to yourself by opening the conversation, tap Edit, tap the voice memo, tap Forward, choose your email address from your contact. You can open this on your computer and the attachment should play in Quicktime.
