IPhone 3g wi-fi not working since 2.0.2

I am having a lot of problems with my iPhone, since upgrading to 2.0.2 my Wi-Fi suddenly stopped working, it has trouble finding my router and when it does find it and I enter the password I always get a message: Unable to join the network "(network name)'', and this happens in every wifi network, open or closed, that I try to join. I've already tried resetting every option the phone offers, restoring it and even after upgrading to 2.1 I get the message. I do have a Wi-Fi address on the Settings>General>About (00:21:E9:16:5f:45) which is different to the bluetooth address by a number (00:21:E9:16:5f:44) and have already tried entering the number on the DNS section of Wi-Fi you read about in the forum. I'm getting hopeless!! Help would be much appreciated because it is one of my basic means of communication now that I am studying abroad.

I have had this problem since 2.0 first came out, and I have been reading these forums since then and have tried every possible tip offered, none of which have worked. I've reverted to playing the waiting game with Apple and waiting anxiously for a patch to this annoying bug.

I noticed that Find My iPhone on iCloud hasn't worked since iOS 8 came out. My device uses iOS 7. My question is: do I need to upgrade my device? If not, what should I do? I do not wish to upgrade my device.

I noticed that Find My iPhone on iCloud hasn't worked since iOS 8 came out. Whenever I try to use it, it always says "All Devices Offline." This is regardless of whether I am in a good Wi-Fi zone or not. I like to use Find My iPhone to remotely track my battery charging status whenever my phone is charging in a different room. That's been really handy, which is why I really need to get this fixed. No matter what computer I use, the problem is always the same.
My device uses iOS 7. My question is: do I need to upgrade my device? If not, what should I do? I do not wish to upgrade my device, especially considering the bad things I've heard about iOS 8.
Feedback would be welcome ASAP.

You don't need to update to iOS 8 to use Find My iPhone. If you haven't already tried, go to Settings>iCloud>Find My iPhone and turn it off, then reset your phone (hold the sleep/wake and home buttons at the same time until you see the Apple logo, then release). After it restarts, turn Find My iPhone back on and see if it works properly now.

I have bought iphone 4s on July 12, 2012.in Zurich in offical Apple store (Glattzentrum) and after one and a half months it just turned off and not working since. I tried three charges and nothing (it detects that charger is on but it cannot be charged). So now I have a not working phone only two and something months after purchase. But the problem is that in Croatia we have two apple reseller stores and neither don't want to exchange it, although is under warranty!!!! The closest stores are 250 km from Zagreb...Of course I have contacted Apple store in Zurich but they told me to come in Switzerland or to send credit card data for receiving new iphone, the problem is I don't have credit card with 700 euro on it!!!! what to do?? who to call ??? where to get replacment device cause this is disaster???? I wanted to buy ipad but after all this I doubt to do so...I have not working Iphone payed around 700 chf or 800 usd and cannot change it in my country, is it possible for such vast organization like apple that this things can occur????? So much for customer support

Same for both mine and my wife's iPhone 4 4.2.1. Her work woke us up. I found a short fix while testing it out. If you setup a repeat alarm for the day you want it to go off it works. I don't know why but it works, if I don't set the repeat the alarm does not sound. Hope it helps some people but Apple... Fix it please!

i have the same problem. since you're software is already iOS 5.1 go to settings>general> accessibility>the settings after triple click home, i forgot what is it called but that would help.

I had that problem with my iPhone 3G after about 5 days.
I just had Apple take a look at it.
They cleaned it out, called it and stuff.
Didn't work.
Since I didn't drop it in water and it was not my fault in any way, they gave me a brand new one.

I am having this problem. At first with the new iPhone 5, and then with the iPad 2. I am not sure why this is happening.
My gut feeling is this is an iO6 issue and here's why -
The problem mainly occurs with apps. I have about 150 apps, and when I plugged in the phone, iTunes went to sync all of them. The process would hang up after about 20 - 30 apps were loaded onto the phone. I could tell where about the process hung up because the apps on the phone showed up as "waiting".
Then on the iPad 2 I plugged in to sync and saw there was a huge "Other" component in my storage. It required me to restore the iPad 2 from backup. With this restore the same issues occurred - putting the apps back on the iPad would hang up. The videos on the iPad also got stuck - maybe after about 10 hours of videos transfered iTunes crashed.
My solution has been to soft reset the device, restart Windows, and continue the process until it's complete. This is remarkably inefficient and time-intensive but everything works with patience.
I have been wondering if others have had these same problems.
