IPhone 3G WiFi problems after 2.2 update

I know that this has been raised already, but I just wanted to throw some more wood on the fire.
I have several machines wirelessly connected to my router, and all work fine. iPhone WiFi worked every time before update to 2.2, no longer does.
I have done all of the suggested "fixes": power on/off, forget network, reset network settings. They don't work.
What's strange is that the iPhone connects to the network--but it only has 2 bars, even when I'm right beside the router! And even when it's "connected", I can't browse the net through Safari or use any other programs that require internet access.
Connections to other WiFi networks do the same.

Sorry, I missed your last sentence in your original post.
I wouldn't wait until firmware 2.3 is released. I've had no problems connecting my iPhone to my wireless network at home, the wireless network at my office, or the wireless networks that I regularly access at a couple of restaurants that I frequent, and the same with an AT&T wireless network at a Starbucks that I stop by on occasion since installing 2.2.

I'd just like to make sure that Apple is aware of the issue.
Providing it here does not ensure this. Although these discussions are provided and moderated by Apple, each post and thread here is not read by a moderator or by any Apple employee.
Calling AppleCare ensures that Apple is aware of your particular issue, and if a reset and/or a restore from your iPhone's backup and as a new iPhone or not from your iPhone's backup does not change anything, then your iPhone may have a hardware issue that 2.2 brought to the surface and if so, your iPhone will be exchanged under warranty.
No point in waiting for a future firmware update with no way of knowing exactly when the next firmware update will be released, nor if it will resolve your problem especially if this turns out to be a hardware issue.

Wifi problem after.4.3 update on xperia z

Hi all,
After updating my Xperia Z (C6603) to build number 10.4.1.B.0.101 I've been having connection issues with every Wi-Fi network.
I've checked the forum but I only found problems about people having Wi-Fi issues with their smartwatch, I do not own a smart watch this is just a general networking issues.
Here's the problem in detail:
When having no Wi-Fi switched on while booting the phone the phone will start without any issues, I will receive my 3G/4G signal and I can browse, e-mail, everything.
Once I switch on Wi-Fi it will start connecting to previously stored Wi-Fi access points but will not connect. Eventually it says that there was a problem with connecting, even though this will take several minutes.
I can go into the Wi-Fi settings, select a different Wi-Fi network (if it is in range) and press connect, however the settings app will freeze at that point and eventually I'll get a notification that the settings app has stopped working.
I have found a "work-around": I switch the Wi-Fi to on, power off the phone and power on again. Now the Wi-Fi connection immediately powers on without an issue once the phone has completely booted, it also will connect to the default Wi-Fi connection that is in range. A different issue appears however once I move out of Wi-Fi range, it will no longer pick up my 3G/4G signal. It is also impossible to switch off Wi-Fi or switch Wi-Fi network connections without rebooting the phone.
As I said before this happened to me after updating to version 10.4.1.B.0.101 after having it received through OTA update. I do not have root access on my phone either so this can't be it.
Is there anyone experiencing the same issues? Is this somehow related to the issues people are experiencing with their smart watch connections (as seen in this topic: http://talk.sonymobile.com/t5/Software-Updates/wifi-problem-after-4-3-update-on-xperia-z/td-p/490591...
If there's anyone who is experiencing the same issues, or has found a fix for this I'd gladly hear from you.

I faced the same problem. So what u did now to connect your 3g or 4g. Did u tried kitkat update? Its works or not?

Fix for my iPhone 3Gs WiFi problems after upgrade to iOS 4

Posting incase this helps. I upgraded to iOS 4 on my 3Gs while away from home and came home to find that I couldn't get a reliable connection to my home WiFi which had been rock solid when I left two weeks ago.
My network consistes of a telco supplied router & ADSL box connected by LAN to an Airport Extreme which then connects wirelessly to an Airport Time Machine in another room (actually a steel lined safe room so I have to be sure that the door is open). The Time Machine is set to act as a range extender as is an Airpot Express N I have connected to a hifi.
Well after rebooting everything and scratching my head I took a look at the wireless settings on the base Airport Extreme. *It was set to 802.11n only!* I, therefore, have no idea how my iPhone was able to connect to this up to now. *I've set it now to 802.11n (b/g compatible)* and the iPhone once again connects and re-connects without any trouble at all.
I know the 3Gs is not capable of 802.11n but I can assure you that for the last few months I haven't changed that router so it was certainly working in that 802.11n only mode on that apple router.

Iphone 5 wifi problems with 7.3 update!!

Grrr it wont connect to home wifi unable to connect it says. Tried forgetting network and reconnect its unable to do it!!! Grrr. The internet is working in laptop device!!!! Grrrr!!! Wish i never install any new updates stupid 7.3 latest watever its number now. The previous one had its issues aswell such as crashing so many times with low battery performance!! I want to get rid of this rubbish!!

Yeah its definately 7.0.3 update its given me issues i didnt have in any of the previous updates.
However, my wi-fi is working now but it does drop and loose connection from time to time which is annoying.
Another thing is im noticing poor battery life. I wonder if you and anyone has that also? and another thing happened was that all my apps which was managed in folders got out of the box and was tiring re organising it all back again took me ages. my 32g has taken up almost full storage by apps and games so one can imagine how many jumped out and escaped.

its working now mate. i did not check if it connects to other good known areas.
yes i did reboot my router, and internet was working fine at the time.
type of encryption im not sure bud. standard home wifi on default settings on the phone.
I am getting less crashing now, although it did happen again once since.
Poor battery performance for sure (i do know how to preserve battery options).I am using the device same as alwasy and I used to get more life from i think it was 7.0.2 or was it 7.0.1. .... see soo many updates and numbers i loose track. Basically untill this last update.

LEAP WIFI problem after updated to 4.2.2

I've just upgraded my tablet to 4.2.2.
Now I can't connect to my company's network which uses password LEAP. Major problem for me.
Seems this is a common problem across a number of Android platforms.

I have a similair problem. My Iphone 5 has been doing a recovery for approximately 6 to 7 hours. Should I expect it to take this long or should I restart the process? Itunes does say it is doing a recovery and looks active but I question the length of time that this is taking.

Nah... there simply is not iOS 6 Wi-Fi problem with the 4S. I have not experienced any issues and neither has anyone else I know with iPhones.
User's like yourself really should drop the attitude and try some basic troubleshooting.

Wifi problems after update airport configuration

Hello, i have a question about my wifi. After i installed airport configuration 6.1 my computer said there is no wifi hardware installed. Does anybody knows how to fix this?
Or to get back to 6.0 ?

The problem is that I used to have a wifi network that let me go on the internet from my iPad, iPhone and laptop. Two days ago, it disappeared: no access to the internet via wifi from anywhere but my desktop. The old wifi network isn't listed anywhere, on my desktop or other devices that detect wifi.
I access the internet via ethernet from my desktop, via virgin media.
What I want to do is get a home network up and running again. Originally, it was all automatic - I didn't have to know anything to get it working. Then I followed some nifty spec on the forum to slightly alter the address of the device, and my other devices, so that I could use my computer's wifi from my Kindle. For the next 9 months, no problems. Then I casually updated the airport utility and poof, the wifi network vanished. And I don't know how to get a DHCP ID or anything else, because I didn't have to do it originally. I just plugged in my computer and did what I was told to.
This sounds so pathetic. I'm sorry. Is there some way I can just start all over again?
