IPhone 3G will not sync after recent update to software
I began a sync for my phone and new software was available and I allowed the update. Now my iPhone 3GS will not sync. continues to give an Unknown Error -39. What do I do?
Thank you for the response, I have not tried a restore, won't that wipe out everything on the phone? Leaving on vacation and don't have time to start over, I'll have to try this after I get back if the next response does not solve the problem.

M4b files will not sync after recent update
I recently updated the software on my ipod touch 4th gen. After updating, I tried to sync my playlists, but not all of the files would sync. After some investigation, I figured out that the files that wouldn't sync were audio books in m4b format. They synced just fine before the update. What is the problem here?

Iphone 4 will not sync after restore
Iphone 4 will not sync via itunes via USB cable after restore. Rebooted PC and iphone. Latest version of itunes and iOS. Device appears on left hand window, but the main window only shows the Apple logo, and empty white box, and a small LOCK symbol. Other iphone and ipad still sync properly, but restored iphone will not. Please help.
I had the EXACT same thing and I have appeared to fix it thanks to Amand99:
1) Make Sure you are running latest Itunes.
2) Plug usb cord into computer with itunes on. DO NOT PLUG INTO PHONE.
3) Do a hard shut down of your phone, where you hold the home and lock button and don't let go until the phone completely dies.
4) Hold down home button for three seconds. DO NOT LET GO. While continuing to hold, plug chord into phone, connecting it to computer. DO NOT LET GO. Hold for an additional five seconds.
5) A window should appear in itunes saying that a phone is connected which needs a system restore.
6) Itunes should allow you to restore and update.
7) Now this was key for me because this might have been my mistake which originally caused this issue. After the restore, Itunes shows the iPhone grey with a spinning wheel (like bofore). I looked at the iPhone and it looked like it wanted me to go through the setup options. DON'T TOUCH THE PHONE. Be Patient, iTunes will eventually recognize the phone and finally ask if you want to restore it. Choose "restore from backup", and let iTunes do it's stuff.

My Iphone 4 will not charge after ipdate to IOS 7.0.4, Does anyone have a solution ? I have tried apple cables and chargers. I see many have the same issue. Anyone made progress ?
No offence, but as with quite a few others, my Iphone stopped charging on mains after iOS 7.0.4 update too.
Not sure you can categorically advise that "it simply is not a software issue" when so many different people are having the same symptoms after updating their iOS Just have a quick Google!
Luckily my (original Apple) cable will still allow recharging via USB to a laptop. So, process of elimination would point to a bricked charger that was working faultlessly up until the iOS 7.0.4 update was applied. Seems quite a stretch to be a coincidence.

After updating to the new iphone 7.0 update, my iphone will not sync in itunes, anyone had a similar experience ,if so what's the remedy?
I restarted the phone again and iTunes and it synced.

Possible fix for Gmail not syncing after recent update
Hey all,
I've seen at least one person on the forums who's had issues with their Gmail not syncing after the latest update. I thought I would pass along my solution to the problem in case it worked for others. After I updated to the latest version of the iPhone software a couple of days ago, my mail accounts from Gmail were behaving strangely. For one thing, all of my saved e-mails on the iPhone were deleted. For another, it no longer received any e-mail from those accounts. Finally, I decided to test it out by creating a new e-mail account on my iPhone to sync with a disused Gmail address that I had not yet set up for IMAP on my phone. To my surprise, it worked perfectly! Then, after I checked the details of the new e-mail account with those of my existing accounts, I discovered that the incoming server port number was incorrect on the other accounts. It was 995 when it ought to have been 993. When I corrected the port numbers, all of the accounts synced perfectly. I hope that might work for someone else. My 5th Gen iPod Touch will not sync after I updated my iTunes
Right after I updated my iTunes on my PC, it will no longer sync anything. My apps, my music, everything won't sync.
It just says that I can't sync because I need more space (8.30GB to be exact). But before I updated my iTunes, everything was fine. The thing is I want my iTunes and iPod to synchronize with each other without losing anything.
Can someone help me?
Also, my OS is already iOs 7.1Do you have the right boxes checked to sync? It appears not.

If your iPhone, iPad, or iPod has your purchased content from the iTunes Store, you can transfer the content to a computer that is authorized for your Apple ID.
Note: This option only works for content you purchased from the iTunes Store (as opposed to content from other sources, such as CDs you may have imported). For content you did not purchase from the iTunes Store, synchronization occurs in one direction only. This means your content can be copied from a computer to your iOS device, but cannot be copied from your device to a computer.
Open iTunes.
From the Store menu, choose Authorize This Computer.
Enter your Apple ID and password. Then, click the Authorize button.
Connect your device your computer. If it is synced with another iTunes library, you may be asked if you want to "Erase and Sync" or "Transfer Purchases."
If that alert appears, click Transfer Purchases.
Important: Clicking Erase and Sync will delete any existing content currently on your device. The content would then be replaced with the content that is on the computer.
If you were not offered the option to transfer purchases:
After connecting your device to the computer, its icon appears in iTunes. Click the icon.
From the File > Devices menu, choose "Transfer Purchases from 'Your device name.'"
Note that the computer must be authorized for the Apple ID under which the purchases were made.

My iphone 4 will not sync after upgrading to ios7
After upgrading my iphone 4 to ios7, I cannot sync with itunes. It either goes through 4 steps and then "canceling sync" or it hangs up on "waiting for files to transfer" and never gets past that. I tried some suggestions in other support articles. I synced with itunes in safe mode. I reset the phone and did a restore. Nothing seems to help. I upgraded to 7.0.2 but no changes. Please Help!

All 3 computer lab servers were recently updated and rebooted. Java was updated as well to 7u21. Now all 3 do not respond when Firefox icon is clicked, from any thin-client or remote desktop session/user. There is no popup error, just an hour-glass for about 5 seconds and then nada. IE is fine. I can't tell if it was the java update or a windows security update, and I'm not seeing anything in the error logs
It is possible that your security software (firewall, anti-virus) blocks or restricts Firefox or the plugin-container process without informing you, possibly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.
Remove all rules for Firefox and the plugin-container from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full unrestricted access to internet for Firefox and the plugin-container process and the updater process.

IPhone 4S Will not sync after step 2 on iTunes.
Hey guys. I just purchased a new iPhone 4S, unlocked for T-Mobile and jailbroken. Everything is working fine until I tried to sync ringtones, apps, and photos on it. It will not get pass step 2. Once it hits step 3, which is "Determining apps to sync", it stops syncing entirely. I have no idea what's going on. My iPhone is backed up with my computer, not iCloud. I can sync music but not apps, ringtones, photos. I have re-installed iTunes and did a hard-reset on my iPhone. Still no luck. Any help please?

Mac Mini will not load after recent update.
My late 2012 model Mac Mini just had a software update and upon rebooting, my login name did not populate. I rebooted again and now I get the gray screen with spinner and progress bar. Once the progress bar loads I have just the spinner for a minute or so before it cuts off completely. I use a wireless MAC keyboard and it will not load into safe mode when I try holding down SHIFT upon reboot. Any suggestions?

Ive tried over the air and through iTunes, no luck either way. Says the servers cannot be contacted.
Is there a number I can call to activate this another way?Apple's activation servers are probably very busy. Calling AppleCare will not really help as the servers are what allow that to happen. You may want to wait for a little while before trying again.

Powermac G4 1,5ghz will not boot after OS update or software install
I have a very strange problem. A book is fallen on Powermac G4 12" 1,5 ghz from the bookshell when the laptop was open. It landed neer the space bar.
Since then, my powerbook works most of the time if I clean install the OS (tried with 10.3, 10.4 and 10.5 cd's), works most of the time, sometimes the problem stays. If i update the OS or install for example Ms office the problem will show up agian.
The problem is the powerbook will not start up anymore. The powerup screen shows with the apple logo and after a minute he reboots again. The powerbook does not start up anymore. the problem is solved when I reinstall an OS. But when i update of install software it's there again.
Strange?????Have you run the Apple Hardware Test that is on one of the discs that were originally shipped with the computer?

IPhone 3GS will not activate after IOS5 update it says there is no SIM
I tried updating my iPhone 3GS to IOS5 and it is saying the activation server is temporarily unavailable and then iTunes says there is no SIM but there is.
Here's what you do
1.Make sure your phone is not plugged into the computer.
2. Put the iPhone into recovery mode (this is NOT DFU mode). Do this by
a). Hold down both the power/sleep button and the home button until the screen turns black/off
b). As soon as this happens release the power button but NOT the home button
c). If done correctly then the Apple logo will appear, KEEP HOLDING THE HOME BUTTON and eventually a connect to itunes graphic will appear. You can release the home button
3. With the connect to itunes graphic on the screen, plug your phone into the computer. iTunes will start up if it is not already on, and then will say the phone needs restoring. Ignore this and COMPLETELY quit iTunes.
4. With iTunes off and the graphic still on the phone screen, hold down both the power/sleep and the home button again for 9 seconds (count 100, 200, 300...) or until the screen goes black
5. When the screen goes black release the home button straight away.
6. It will start up with the iPhone activation screen ignore this. iTunes should have started up, if not do so. Go to the iPhone tab and either resotre from backup or set up as a new phone.
