Iphone 3G would take connection from modem yet NOT get internet?
I find this VERY odd. I've used a iphone with a linksys wireless modem. Now it's funny because I came to the apple store to get my iphone 3G's battery replaced but of course, I just got a brand new iphone instead .
Of course, I did try the wifi since my service was off from AT&T at the moment at my friend's house which worked perfectly fine.
However, as I just came home right now, I connected to my home's wireless internet that DOES work with my labtop. But for some reason, my iphone says it doesn't get internet for anything just saying "Safari Cannot open the page because it's not connected to the internet" for example when I use Safari.
Now I reseted everything over and over again and nothing works. And I noticed that it only has the IP Address and Subnet mask in the settings of the network....can anyone help?
Wow I am feeling stupid by how simple that was. I should've done that as well since it worked.

Some things to try first:
1. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
2. Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.
3. Change the channel on your wireless router (Auto or Channel 6 is best). Instructions at http://macintoshhowto.com/advanced/how-to-get-a-good-range-on-your-wireless-netw ork.html
4. Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.
5. Renew IP Address: (especially if you are droping internet connection)
• Launch Settings app

• In the window that opens, tap on the Renew Lease button

Note - When troubleshooting wifi connection problems, don't hold your iPad by hand. There have been a few reports that holding the iPad by hand, seems to attenuate the wifi signal.

Ethernet connected, IP Address, yet not loading Internet
G4 dual 1.25 has been acting funny for a a few weeks.
Symptoms:
1) Even though network prefs show ethernet connnected, and a 192... address nothing will loaded in Safari. Other macs load fine so network is good...
2) No computer can access this unit through network and vice versa
3) Home sharing setup cannot access iTunes to login
4) On shutdown I quit iTunes then hit shut down. Shutdown hangs and says iTunes refused to quit
Permissions repair run numerous times but no effect
Besides running console to find problem, what is the best repair method-

EnioReinstalling is way down the list of things to do - probably the last option as far as I'm concerned. There's also no guarantee it'll fix the problem if the problem is preference-related and you copy back the (broken) preferences.
You need to do a little more troubleshooting before you call it quits.
Start off with /Applications/Utilities/Network Utility
Can you ping your router address (as set in System Preferences -> Network -> (interface) -> Advanced -> TCP/IP)
If not, is this the same router address used by other systems on the LAN or is it different?
In addition, can you ping other devices on the LAN? Ping is a basic network test that should always be near the top of your troubleshooting.
After that, I'd check the various logs on the system - many problems will announce themselves there, and if you're not reading the logs you're wasting a lot of time trying to work out what's wrong. -
Ethernet is connected but I can not get internet
I just moved into a new apartment and my internet connect is through an Ethernet cord. I can not reboot or restart the connection becuase it is through my entire building. When I plug the Ethernet into my MacBook Pro is says it is connected however when I open Safari or Chrome it has no connection. My IP address starts with 169 and my Mask is 255. I have restarted the computer many times and have gone through the "Assist Me.." or "Diagnostics" within Networks however each one requires that I reboot the router. Seeing that I dont even know where the router is, I can not do this action. Can someone please help with this? I have also reset PRAM and looked at other threads that say delete "com.apple.afl", however in my preferences there is no "com.apple.afl". The ethernet is currently working on an HP desktop and I have made sure the broadban connection has been set to "share with other devices". I feel Im running out of options. PLEASE HELP!

How do I get the music back on my iPhone after manually deleting it from the device (to get space for photos/videos)? I can sync with iTunes but it doesn't copy these songs back, even though they still appear in my iTunes library. I can click on the Music link under 'On My Device' in iTunes and the missing songs all appear to still be on the device, but they are not. I normally delete using iTunes and do not have this issue. This time I was out and needed more space to shoot photos and videos so I removed a lot of music from my phone through the Music App.
The songs I'm trying to reload on my phone are on my PC. These we had loaded into iTunes. I can remove them all from the library and then add them all back one by one I imagine. The problem I'm having is that I removed them manually from the phone, they still appear in iTunes music library yet they won't sync. I don't want to take the time to compare the phone to my library, remove from the library what's missing on the phone and then add them all back again. 64GB (mostly music) will take a while.

Whenever i open itunes on my iphone it shows "Cannot connect to iTunes" even when my internet connection is fine.
Try restarting the iPhone.
If that doesn't do it, one thing that others have done to fix this is manually set the date and time a few months out (Settings > General > Date & Time), test it again, and then set it back to the correct time.

You also are not showing any cellular service. Have you contacted your provider regarding that? Regarding your WiFi, do you have wifi turned on in settings? Did you get your phone to show up in iTunes on your computer? I think we are dealing with several issues since you said that you have a message on your phone to connect to iTunes and you don't have cellular service.

I can connect to WiFi but not the internet
I am trying to connect a new IPad 2. I have a Belkin router that is B+G+N. I use WPA2 encryption and MAC filtering. The IPAD's MAC address was entered into the router and when I provide the encryption key as the password I am able to connect to WiFi but not anything Internet related except for email. When I type any URL in Safari it takes me to my router's management page. In fact I can log into my router and manage it from my IPad but I can't connect to anything else. I have 8 other computers/devices that connect to the router fine including two Apple Ipod touch's. This has me baffled.

Problem with not getting Internet Connect on AirPort Express
Problem with not getting Internet Connect on AirPort Express (version7.6.4). Error says cannot get valid IP address. Have reset Siemens SpeedStream 4100 several time, even with tech support from the big "A" DSL provider. Plug MacBook Pro directly into modem and works fine. Unplugged AirPort, even reset it, still no luck. A bad Express?? or am not looking in the right place to make connection. Was working fine up until Sunday.
Connect the AirPort Express (AX) to the cable modem via Ethernet cable.
In configuring the AX using AirPort Utility:
Under Internet, set the connection to be Ethernet using DHCP.
Under Connection Sharing, set it to distribute a range of IP addresses.
Under AirPort>Wireless, set the Wireless Mode to Create a wireless network, and fill in the remaining settings in the same window. Until you get it working, you might want to set Wireless Security to None. -

My macbook air is not getting internet connection through our home wifi. It was working fine yesterday until I took the Air out of the house and used it on another wifi connection. It shouldn't but sometimes deleting the list of networks actually does solve the problem you are describing. Have you turned WiFi off and then back on on the computer? -
I have been restoring the backup into a new iphone for a week. My pictures do not get restored however. Is there anything I can do?
Not unless the phone was backed up to the icloud or in iTunes at some point. I know you said it's crushed but can it be connected to a computer? If so you can still back it up in iTunes and then when the new phone comes use iTunes to restore that back up on it.

My carrier is Straight Talk (using ATT network) and they require the user to enter the APN settings in order to access their data network. My Iphone 4s is factory unlocked but I can not get to the Cellular Data Network tab to enter the settings?
Yes ATT hides the APN settings so when you try to use a st sim it automatically reads on AT&T network so the APN settings are hidden and cannot be accessed however you can go to apn.straighttalk.com on you'r phone and select APN/data settings then select AT&T then iPhone and a screen will pop up asking if you would like to install the profile for whatever reason it's not verified but works fine. You can also go to www.unlockit.co.nz and set up a straight talk APN profile that is verified not sure exactly what that means but both work to get the data working on the phone for straight talk but it does not make the MMS work. There are a couple other methods I have read about one is on howardforums using ibackupbot to manually change the files on the phone I haven't been able to get mine to stick using that method but other people have and there is a sim swap method to trick the phone to reveal APN settings using a tmobile sim I have not tried this but other people have with success. The last two methods mentioned will make both data and MMS work
