IPhone 3g Yellow Screen

So my new 3g iPhone screen has a yellow tint. My original iPhone does not. Is this a problem? Any one else notice this?

I bought my first iPhone 3G as a new contract from the Apple Store and it has a beautiful screen, the white is crisp, cool and well calibrated. Today for the first time since the launch of iPhone 3G, my local O2 store had stock (well just one 16GB actually) and I was able to upgrade an old K610i phone to the new iPhone. When I got home I was horrified to find the new one looked like it had spent a lifetime down at the pub, before the smoking ban. The screen was tinted a horrid mustard colour, with the latest firmware and software. I immediately took it in to the Apple Store where they replaced it twice - the first replacement was no better. The second replacement, the one I have now, is much better but still not as 'white' as the original purchase. The entire Genius Bar was taken up with people wanting replacements for their iPhones - although the staff looked really frustrated they were obliging. My genius told me it's not the firmware or the software causing the differences between iPhones - the same components are made by several different manufacturers and so it's the factory which determines whether your iPhone will look cool blue or mustard yellow.

  • IPhone 6 yellow screen?

I have noticed my screen is a bit yellow on the top, its not a lot though. Is this normal?

Only brainwashed person doubts it is not defective.
Discoloration of LCD only happens near the end of its life time. Either it is using a recycled or damaged LCD or intentionally using defective LCD's that should be scrapped.
Leaked online that iPhone 6 scrap rate is only 15%, way below many strict quality control like Note 4's 50% scrap rate.
So at least 41.18% of iPhone 6 buyers bought defective products at premium price. That's over 4 out of 10 though my experiences told me 9 out of 10.

  • Yellow screen on iPhone 4S?

I have had my iPhone 4S for about 3 weeks now and I have noticed a yellow tint on the upper right corner of the screen. Is anyone else having this issue and if so has apple replaced the unit for you?

I have to tell you what happened to me. I got my 4s the day it came out, 3 of us did, all black models. Screen was vibrant normal and no yellow at all. My phone was dropping calls like crazy and AT&T had me replace the sim, that didn't help, so I went to apple and they gave me a new one. It was so yellow, and the battery drained from 100% to 30% in hours, my first one the battery was great. Went back and they changed it again, and this screen was even worse. I called Apple and I stated this is my 3rd phone and my dis pleasure. My screen looks bad. Also with the yellow screen, the glass is not as smooth, so I do think its a different manufacturer. Had I known this I would have dealt with the dropped calls. They are sending me a new one, and I made it clear the screen better not be yellow. So we shall see. The stickiness to the glass bothers me even more then the screen does, and all the ones with the yellow tint, do not have a smooth feel to the screen as compared to my original one and the other 2 iphone 4's in the house. It is unacceptable to have a yellow screen and thats what you need to tell them. You don't pay all this money and have to waste time and effort returning phones, they should all be within the same guidelines. I could see slightly off but the difference between my last 2 was drastic. I mean very drastic. That is not acceptable to me. I didn't pay for that and thats not what I am going to settle for. I don't know who to write to in order to complain but I m going to let it be known. Not to mention my phone was a month old and the new ones they gave me both had issues. They replaced a brand new phone with 2 phones that had issues. Sorry to say, dont settle for the yellow screen, I dont buy the glue thing they are saying because as I said the touch also feels different and the touch is more sensitive on the vibrant screen and much smoother. The reason I notice things like that is because my hands hurt to text on the 2 new ones but didn't hurt on the original one because that was smoother and more sensitive. I went from a 3gs and my 3gs has a way better screen as far as no yellowish. How can they even be able to do that? The yellow screen even hurts my eyes. Totally un acceptable. I was told from an apple representative if the yellow does not clear up, people should call and let them know, because it is not supposed to be yellow. The representative said if the new one is yellow, to let her know.

The screen of my iPhone turns yellow~!   Why?????
I want to change another one! But apple said no!!!!

  • After last upgrade, my iphone 3GS has a yellow screen and won't come on.

    Hi
I really need help... I have recently upgraded my iPhone 3GS to 4.2.1 and there was a flash of white screen, followed by a yellow screen with lines across it. iTunes shows a error message and the phone is now dead. It won't go on. It does go into the DFU mode but thats all about it. Please help as I urgently and desperately need my phone on ....
    Thank you in advance.

Thanks for the reply. I tried that and it didn't work because the screen was completely frozen. I broke down and took the thing to the Apple Store and they discovered there was a loose wire in it that had to be reconnected. This is the second phone which has failed because of "workmanship. "The microphone went bad on the first phone and now this issue. Both phones may have had 2 hours on them and as a new comer to the iphone, I am not impressed. I paid cash for the phone and no insurance. I assumed it would have lasted several years like my other phone of which brand name I won't mention. The phone was great when it worked but when it doesn't it is very frustrating when the touch pad is frozen.
I understand, you can mark this answer as "This solved my question" so that more people can see it if they have the same problem.

  • IPhone 6 yellow tint screen

Hello. I have a yellow screen problem on my iphone 6. Exactly the same problem I had years ago with an iPhone 4. I searched the internet and can not find much information. Is it so strange an iPhone 6 ?. I want to change it, but do not want a refurbished . I have an iPad and two iPhones 4 and iPhone  6 Yellow is horrible. Attached photos.

Thank you for your feedback. I thought that this was a thing of the past.

White is white. You can catch a white sheet and compare. I can compare with my iPad / iPhone 4 or LCD computer, and see that there iPhone 6 terribly yellow screens. It is not a personal preference, it is a demonstrable fact.
And whether it is software or a bad temperature setting, you should know that Apple does not allow its configuration (Jailbreak 've heard that you can do something).
    Regards.

  • HELP! iPhone 3G stuck on apple logo and occasionally switching to yellow screen, cant connect to computer!

    Hello everybody,
A few days ago my iPhone 3G 8GB was working fine, i believe the battery went dead and as i charged it up again it was stuck on the apple logo.  I plugged it into the computer and no response, i tried rebooting the iPhone and putting it in DFU mode, but none of them worked.  Occasionally the iPhone switches from being stuck in the apple logo to a yellow screen, about every 10 minutes.  PLEASE HELP!!!!!

First of all, make sure that it is fully charged (charge for at least 30 minutes). Second, hold down the home and the sleep/wake button simultaneously for 10 - 20 seconds until the apple logo appears. If nothing works, try to backup the phone (if possible) and put the phone into recovery mode. To get that, open itunes and connect the phone to the computer. Press and hold the Home button and the Sleep/Wake button at the same time. As soon as the screen goes black, release the Sleep/Wake button. Continue holding the home button until you iTunes pops up a message telling you that it has detected an iPhone in recovery mode. You can now restore the iPhone using iTunes.

  • IPhone 6 Plus Screen Issue?? Going insane here! 6th phone opened same problem

    Hi all,
I bought a iPhone 6 plus on launch day. I noticed something immediately and that was that the screen, even on full brightness, wasn't displaying whites as nicely as the phones on display in the apple store. The apple store iPhone 6 pluses on display display bright, vivid whites (let's say when your on google.com) but my phone looked slightly more dimmed and shaded out. The difference is slight, but when you compare, you notice it immediately and have had apple employees notice this before I even compared them the phones side by side.
I ended up having the apple store open a few phones for me to replace and they were WORSE (they opened 5 phones). I ended up returning the phone and getting a new one only to have the same issue. I just don't understand why the iPhone 6 pluses on display have screens that show whites and nice and bright, where as my screens are dimmer and more 'shaded out'.
I promise you, if you have an iPhone 6 plus go to the apple store and do the comparison. Unless your lucky, it'll be there. This isn't a yellow screen, or uniform brightness issue, the screen just looks shaded even on full brightness making whites look more 'grey' than the way they are displayed on the 6 pluses in the store. All the setting are perfect this isn't the issue. The issue is the screen itself. I just wanted to know if I was the only one.

I feel your pain! I have the same problem with my new iPhone 6. My iPhone 5s has cooler/brighter whites, but my iPhone 6 with a supposedly better screen shows them warmer/duller. I stopped at two T-Mobile stores this morning to compare my phone with their display models, and in both cases my phone look dull and drab. Because of the warmer whites, text has less contrast and therefor looks blurrier, too. I was considering going to an Apple Store to see if they could exchange the phone, but as you've demonstrated there's no guaranty that you'll get a better phone. After spending $850 on what I thought was a phone with a bigger, better display, I now wish I'd just stayed happy with my 5s or even considered switching back to an Android phone.

  • Too many Yellow screens, too many emails - how to unsubscribe?

I started following a yellow screen iPhone thread after getting my yellowscreen 4S direct from Apple - C39 serial
Replacement No. 1, at Apple Store Covent Garden, also yellow, did not actually swap, although they messed up the paperwork to show I did.
Replacement No. 2. at Apple Store Covent Garden, special order, 'store swap pack' took a week to arrive, also yellow C39 serial.
Replacement No. 3. via applecare by UPS, 'swap packaging' courier was supposed to wait and collect original, didn;t wait, but just as yellow.C39 serial
Replacement No. 4. again via Applecare - I think, by TNT, full retail pack, also yellow, Apple charged for a second phone DNP serial
Replacement No. 5. again via Applecare - I think, by TNT again, full retail pack again, yellow again, Apple didn't have any record of this one until I told them.
At this point Apple who had been previously utterly useless and unresponsive suddenly became very helpful, realising what a mess this all was.  Wanted me to give them one last chance, would arrange collection of all 3 yellowscreen iPhone 4Ss, refunds for both phones, and an appointment at Apple store Covent Garden to allow me to see the screen before purchase.
In the event Apple store Covent Garden had no record of what my appointment was for.
It took just shy of an hour to open two iPhone 4Ss and find that both were yellow screen.  Both serials began DNP, and all their stock was either DNP or C39, this time the "Genius and Genius Manager were both very helpful, Genius could see the issue at once, Genius Manager was actually colour blind, so could appreciate the issue but not see it for himself - apologetic they could not meet expectation of 'the most amazing iPhone yet' having at least as good a screen as the 4. Welcome to the post Jobs erea I suspect.
Replacement No. 6. at Apple Store Covent Garden, retail pack, yellow screen, serial beginning DNP
Replacement No. 7. at Apple Store Covent Garden, retail pack, yellow screen, serial beginning DNP
Give up on yellowscreen iPhone, revert to 3GS.
All display phones at the Apple Store Covent Garden store were C37 serials - quelle surprise!
On another subject, but the one of the title, I have been inundated with the stream of responses on the previous post I was subscribed to - about 500 not very happy iPhone users at the last count.  Each email that arrives tells me,"You are receiving this email from Apple Support Communities. You can change your email preferences in your Apple Support Communities Profile."
Well, I have, and set everything to 'off' but they just keep on arriving.  Does anyone know how to stem the flow.  I am very sorry for anyone suffering the insipid yellow screen of their 4S, but having decided to go back to my 3GS, I don't want to be updated five times a day..
    Thanks for any help

  • Yellow screen light

my iphone 4s has a yellow screen light,.why like that? while my friend who own 4s also has a white screen, better than mine..

INteresting. i just got an ipad2  2 days ago. (amazing hubby surprised me!) and i guess i'd have to hold it up to another ipad to see if it's yellowish at all.
where was light leaking from....the sides? (trying to picture it)
as far as if it would bug me.......i'm like you and if i notice something that bugs me....then every time i used my ipad, i'd be noticing it. i'd rather not have light leakage, i'd likely just get used to the warmer tones on screen. it's probably better for your eyes anyway. they are probably doing it because it's hard to read on compared to a Kindle. that's my 2 cents.

  • Yellow Screen of Death Repeated

So I was out in the town tonight and my iPhone 3Gs died on me but I noticed that the screen was still glowing. When I got home, I plugged it in and boom, screen went yellow and the iPhone was unresponsive. I've looked this thing up and I've tried all the suggested treatments (Which were all basically put it into DFU mode and happy face) but it'll reboot and give me the yellow screen again. My phone is not jailbroken but it has a lot of important information, like birthdays of people I can't ask and many, many more things on it. Does anyone have any good suggestions on how I can fix it without needing a new phone altogether?

I've seen that before. It can be anything from just a restore to a blow LCD, battery or even a logic board. Only a authorized service provider can help.
