Iphone 3GS (4.3.3) stuck in recovery with latest 10.4iTunes and Safari5.1
Hi Service Support,
I need help on this issue.
Recently my 3GS battery went flat and i recharge it. It prompt me a message error 1604 and i viewed into the information which i follow the remedy steps.
I download the latest iTune10.4 as well as Safari5.1. Then when I turn off to reboot my laptop but before that i already took out the USB and my phone.
I reconnect to my laptop. it prompt me another error message' Need to restore your iphone' so i restore it. i restore it and now the restoration is restore half the bar and it is jam there. I tried for the whole yesterday night till now today it stays there.
Can anyone help me on this?

I’ve managed to get iOS 5.0.1 on now using a differentmachine, if I’d have just though to clear the recent IPSW file and re-downloadI’d have avoided this maybe

Actually I was stuck with this situation yesterday. Here is what I did to overcome this issue: I hope it helps.
To start with, here are few things to you should make sure of:
1- You have the latest version of iTunes. You may try to uninstall and reinstall iTunes.
2-Restart your Windows.
If still no luck, try editing the Hosts file, here is how;
1- click on RUN then copy and paste the following:
notepad c:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts
2- look for gs.apple.com
3- if there are numbers infront of it just delete them or just type # before the numbers.
4- Save the file and try restoring again.
Note: you should have administror access to edit the Hostes file.
put your iphone in DFU mode before restoring.

Start off with some basic steps:
- Make sure iTunes is up to date
- Try another usb cable
- Try another usb port
In the article Resolve iOS update and restore errors this is what it says about error 28:
Check for hardware issues
Related errors: 1, 3, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 16, 20, 21, 23, 26, 27, 28, 29, 34, 35, 36, 37, 40, 1000, 1002, 1004, 1011, 1012, 1014, 1667, or 1669.
These errors mean that your device or computer may have a hardware issue that's preventing the update or restore from completing.
Check that your security software and settings aren't preventing your device from communicating with the Apple update server.
Then try to restore your iOS device two more times while connected with a cable, computer, and network you know are good.
Confirm that your security software and settings are allowing communication between your device and update servers.
If you still see the error message when you update or restore, contact Apple support. -

Basic troubleshooting from the User's Guide is reset, restart, restore (first from backup then as new). Try each of these in order until the issue is resolved. If the issue persists, take the device to Apple for evaluation.

Downgrading the iOS is not supported, and likely has caused the problems you are experiencing.
You'll need to go elsewhere for support. -

my iphone 3gs said it was out of service then it turned off and when it turned on it said to activated then it said to plug in to itunes i did that n it turns back off. how can i fix it?? or whats wrong
If it continues to show the connect to iTunes graphic, then you do have to restore the phone. If you have not created a backup of your phone, then I hope you use icould because this will erase all of the info on the phone.

All US sold iPhones are carrier locked to AT&T.
Neither AT&T or Apple will unlock them under any conditions.
If the device is unlocked, it has been un-officially unlocked.
Updated the device will almost certainly relock it to AT&T.
Save yourself some hassle, either return it to the seller or re-sell it online. Then purchase an iPhone intended for use in your country. -
i have an iphone 3gs (Model No: A1303 FCC ID:BCGA1303A IC ID:579C-A1303A) and itune 10.7. But when i am trying to upgrade to ios5 it shows the message "my iphone software is 4.2.1 and is the current version". can anyone helpe me. The application "Notes" on my IPhone 3GS (IOS 6.0.1) is synchronized with a homonymous application of my e-mail yahoo box. Please how to solve it ?
Nothing to solve that is normal behavior. You can also sync it with icloud (settings icloud and turn notes on, settings mail contacts calendars yahoo mail account turn notes off.) Other email providers support notes sync as well, but right now your default is yahoo.

I am considering purchase of the new iPad and already own iPhone 3GS, can I use my phone to tether to the iPad and use the phones 3G connection?
This will allow me to buy the cheaper version of the iPad without 3G.You can tethe, but depending on carrier you may need to pay for that option... I've decided to have my phone on one provider and my ipad on another so i always have connectivity... More expensive in the long run, but I need to make sure I am always "on" for work
