IPhone 3GS 5.0.1 Service Problem
I have an iPhone 3GS its on 5.0.1
It keeps loosing signal anywhere I'm at, it goes from full bar AT&T to searching... and keeps repeating over and over again.
I've taken it to the apple store like 9 time I've gotten my iPhone replaced 6 time and it keeps doing it they told me to change the sim card so i did that too 4 times, then AT&T says its a device issue and they keeps going back and forth i really dont know what to do anymore! Please help!
It works for a couple of hours after I restore it but i have to be doing that contantly.
If tied my sim on other phones and the service is great!

IPhone 3GS is showing no service
My iPhone 3GS is showing no service, I have reset the network settings but that didn't seem to work. I then restored the phone iteself but it still shows no service.
The phone is on O2 and I have tried a few other sims, but it still doesnt seem to work. The iOS is 6.1.3, I have been told this may be the problem but it was working a couple of days ago.
I was also told to try these steps which didn't seem to work:
1. Disable 3G in Settings/General/Network
2. Power off the iPhone by holding the top lock button down then sliding to power off, leave the phone off for 30 seconds
3. Power on the iPhone
4. Reset network settings in Settings/General/Reset
5. Turn on 3G
6. You should be able to find the network now
I don't know what elese I can do, I would really appreciate anyones help, thanks.Basic troubleshooting steps
Reset the iPhone by Holding both Power and Home Buttons together till Apple logo appears.
Restore to a backup.
Backup, Restore in iTunes setup as new. -
My iphone 3GS is showing no service your network is restriced you can choose a different network in settings ive tried a restore and upgrading software/downgrading still no fix just no service searching...
I have no idea why this has happend ive been using the phone for 2years bought it on pay as you go and now all of a sudden its stating the above error i have never come across this problem before and currently im using 3GS and Iphone 4SSounds like it's been blacklisted.
Even if it hasn't, downgrading voids any warranty and forfeits all rights to support. You hacked your phone. You can't get help here. -

Seems that way. I think I am going to have to give in and spend hours on the phone with Apple support. I don't want to, but I am at a loss. I will share any discoveries...

Then you should have iMessage. Go to Settings > Messages to turn it on and set your Receive At address. Note that iMessage uses the Messages app... standard texts are gree, iMessages are blue.

IPhone 3GS iOS6.1.3 Activation Problem
Hi there, I do have an iPhone 3GS on iOS6.1.3 Recently Upgrade from iOS6.1.2..
This set is bought from Malaysia and it is unlocked set, therefore there's no Carrier lock or whatever..
My problems is, after I perform a clean Restore to iOS6.1.3 I cannot seem to activate the iPhone.
When I have reach the welcome page, it only ask about my langguage, Location, and ask me to plug into iTunes.. Does not have WiFi and my Sim card is on No Service. I plug-ed into iTunes and it say We're sorry, we are unable to continue with your activation at this time please contact customer care..
As I read in forum, a lot of user keep on saying jailbroken or what ever. But I never jailbroken my iPhone.
Any help out there?I have called AppleCare, My phone and serial is no Problem.. Just they keep on asking me to restore.. and yet.. It still the same.. I can only Select language, Region, Connect to iTunes..
After Connected to iTunes I received this message "We're sorry, we are unable to continue with your activation at this time. Please try again later, or contact customer care." -
IPhone 3gs Earphone, Mic and Earpiece Problem
i have a problem with my iPhone 3gs, the mic is working fine when that battery is on high percentage, but when the battery goes down the mic is not working well, it records like a grounded sound, also my earpiece, when doing a call i cant hear the person on the onther line using my earpiece but when using a earphone or a loud speaker mode it works fine.,
the problem on earphone is when i play music via earphone and make it on a maximum volume the phone is giving me a grounded sound,.
can anybody help me with this problem?

my friends just a bought the same phone and they have the same exact problem! i brought it to the apple store and they pretty much blew me off. they tried fixing but they said everything is fine...
they are keeping secret about this!!!!!! many more need to complain for them to get a new speaker!!!!!!
i may consider returning the phone... besides that it is awesome!!!!!! -
Sold my iPod Touch 32gb, now own an iPhone 3GS 16gb...iTunes problem
Here is my problem. I sold my iPod Touch and I have a bunch of apps on my laptop in iTunes I want to put into my iPhone 3GS. When I click sync it says do you wish to continue? if you continue all of your iPhone apps will be deleted and replaced with apps from your iTunes library. Whats up with that? Why cant I just pick the apps up and put them on my phone without deleting the apps on my phone?? Annoying. Thanks if you can help
amateur. I figured it out. I just misunderstood what it said I suppose. After you click continue your allowed to pick and choose which applications to transfer over from pc>iphone. Very simple. Disreguard this post!

The volume get reduced in some days in last 2 months this is 3rd time when I have faced problemI have had your exact problem with my old 3GS, now I cannot even get it to turn on, I still see that it is supposed to be charging though, but it never charges any so it seems.
I replaced the Lower Dock Connector Assembly back when it still charged while hooked to my PC, and it found it made no real difference.

If it starts with 169 then it is self-assigned and your router is not giving your iPhone a LAN IP address. You will not be able to access the internet.
This problem might be resolved by simply restarting your router (remove power for 30 seconds).
If you need more help please give the make/model of your router and some details of how it is configured, i.e., security type (WEP, WPA, WPA2), etc. -
IPhone 3GS 3.1.3 Firmware Problem

few days ago I updated my iPhone 3GS to newer version 3.1.3. But within these days I got sick of it because there are issues with cellular network, most of the time I see "no connection" thing and I want to go back to older firmware 3.1.2 but iTunes deleted it from my computer so I downloaded it from the internet but now iTunes does not let me install it. What is the problem, I can not use my phone as a cell phone.UPDATE - I managed to resolve the apps crash problem doing a sync with iTunes... now apps seems to work fine. I will now monitor the network problems (in last 3 days i was without connection for 48 hours .. and i didn't even know it)

Hello, i bought my iphone 3gs on 17 June 2009 from a swiss apple reseller and carrier. Well i am very happy with my iPhone, but i noticed something strange: when i play sound, no matter if is an aplication playing the sound or an mp3 or an ringtone, everytime the left loudspeaker is loder than the right. The Loudspeaker on the right is very down on output and the left loudspeaker very high. I don't know if this is a hardware problem, thats why i came here to ask, what this could be? Or if its a software related problem? Greetz

It is stereo with headphones or docked speakers. Even a second speaker on the phone would not give you sufficient separation to discern two channels.
