IPhone 3GS app stuck installing - can't be deleted
I purchased a Tavelocity app for my iPad that requires iOS7. When I later went to use my 3GS iPhone (iOS v 6.1.6) I discovered that it was attempting to install the Travelocity app on the iPhone. It is now stuck in a "waiting" mode and cannot be deleted. When I press the Home button the app does not display an "X" to be deleted. When I connect to iTunes it shows the app in the right panes representing my iPhone, but not in the list to the left. Therefore, I cannot select it to be removed when I sync. I have searched the web for solutions but none have worked. Why would my iPhone 3GS attempt to install an app that requires iOS7 and what can I do to remove this app from my iPhone? Ever since this happened, my battery life has reduced significantly and if I attempt to do anything that requires a lot of power it crashes. Can someone please recommend a solution? I don't know if this is related to the problem I described above, but after downloading and installing updates to other apps from the App Store app, when I select to see the Purchased apps, it attempts to display them but is unable to do so. The list is blank.
Only photos taken by iPhone can be deleted normally, the ones synced via iTunes require a new photo sync.
Create a empty folder on your computer.
Connect device to iTunes.
Choose "sync photos".
Choose the empty folder you created.
Start sync.
Done.

I'm all mac-based and followed the instructions for the upgrade to iOS6 software for iPhone but now my calendars won't synq. When I connect to iTunes and run the synq process, it gets stuck on the Calendar step and will not finish the synq process. I have to either wait for it to quit or force it to quit. Additionally, when I try to log a new event or meeting onto the Calendar on the iPhone, it will lock up and quit the app. I then have to shut down the iPhone to get it to open again but it just locks up again when I try to log a new event. Any suggestions? I'm tempted to do a back up and reinstall but don't want to risk any data loss.Hi there,
I am using Rogers, which does support tethering.
The iPhone does not show up in the list of devices in the Bluetooth preference panel. It fails at the Pairing step of the Bluetooth setup assistant.

Apple recommends backing up the data when you're getting the battery replaced by them. So I assume that you will likely lose the data during this process.

I was going to suggest - Settings>General>Reset>Reset all settings, but if you are restoring to factory settings, that should restore the settings back to factory defaults. But if you are restoring from a backup, after restoring to factory settings, try resetting all of the settings and see if that fixes it.

Iphone 3gs crashed after installing new ios update
Please help. I just installed the newest ios update to my daughters iphone 3gs. It installed successfully, i thought. Then about 10 minutes later it said verifying update. It went off and now tries to come back on and the apple icon flashes for a few seconds and goes back off. I have noticed that my iphone 3GS app store crashes when trying to view "purchased" apps. I never had that problem since i updated to IO6. Now I have updated ot IO6.1 and still have the problem. Its only in my main itunes account [email protected] that it crashes when trying to view the "purchased" apps. With my other itunes accounts I can see my purchased apps. I dont understand why this is happening, this is extremely frustrating! I have been using my main account ever since i bought my iphone 3GS over three years now. I used to see every app ive purchased with my main account. but with mmy other itunes account i really havent download much apps so it doesnt show all my apps since the day I purchased my 3GS.Please help. I know there are many other out there that have the same problem, why isnt this problem fixed yet?????

The ONLY place can unlock an iphone is the carrrier to which it is locked and ONLY if they offer that service.
For example, AT&T in the U.S. does not unlock any iphones at all.
You can buy an unlocked iphone from the Apple Store now, but you cannot get a locked phone unlocked in the U.S. -

My iPhone 3gs is stuck on a dim black screen that I can't get out of. I tried doing a hard reset and even restoring to factory setting to fix it. When I press the on/off button it switches from a solid black screen to a dim lit black screen. The fuctions seem to be working. The vibration works when I flip the switch on and off. The voice comand comes up when I hold down the home button. It even plays the iPod when I use the voice comand. When the dim lit black screen is up, the touch screen is non responsive. I just need a way to fix this phone. I know their must be a way. Please help!

That usually means the phone was hacked or jailbroken to unlock the phone and when you update the phone it locked back up again.
Only way to resolve this issue, is to find out who the orignal carrier was and have them unlock it. If you bought this from a 3rd party contact the seller and have him/her unlock it for you by contacting the phone carrier. -
hi desperately need help. my iphone 3gs is stuck in recovery mode... when i try and do the restore via itunes it goes through the motions but when it gets to the end it tells me there was an error and it couldnt be restored... originally it was an ex contract phone that i had opened to orange from vodafone.. it was fine until i tried to do the ios 6 update
There is a way to get it recovered from the so called DFU mode. Try to restart the phone while holding the home and power button at the same time. Then try to connect it to iTunes and do the same again. If you try that again till it works you should be able to use your iPhone as before.

I just went through this yesterday and because i am no where around my computer i lost everything and now my battery drains very fast...you are going to have to recover your phone i hope you have everything backed up and are next to your computer...if you are push and hold your home button and plug into PC at same time and continue to hold the home button untill you see your USB on your pc screen light up (depending on what type of pc maybe i dont know what you have)

follow instructions for restore/sinc
