IPhone 3Gs broken port
I think my iPhone's dock port is broken. I've tried syncing videos, photos, and audio to it and I've received varied problems with each. For starters photos come out with most correct but some rearranged in a Picasso like fashion and still others with thick bars of scrambled data. Video skips around with the audio staying constant until the picture stops skipping and catches up. Music will simply cut out altogether. I don't sync my phone all that much so I did not notice this until a few days ago. I took a can of compressed air to my iPhone's dock port to no avail. There was lint in there but it still doesn't work. I've also tried different USB ports, different files, different cables, and backing up my phone (but not restoring completely). Please help if you can and thank you.

I just tried to restore it and now it is stuck in DFU mode. This clearly means there is something wrong with my connector doesn't it? I would really appreciate any help anyone can give me because now it appears my phone is bricked due to a broken port and there is no feasible way to restore an iPhone without going through iTunes and the port that is broken.

Backlight on iphone 3gs broken, need advice...
I have had a iphone 3gs for the past two years, I got it in the summer of 2010. It is in relatively good condition considering it's age (a few scratches on the front screen) other than that it has been protected by a case and has never been damanged. Recently my phone ran out of battery and I charged the iphone but when it turned on I noticed that the screen was dramatically duller than usual and that the backlight on the screen was not lighting up. The screen is visible and the phone is still useable but very hard to sue due to the darkness of the screen. The phone is a year out of warranty but would this be something apple would fix and if so does anyone know for how much? If I had to get this fixed independently does anyone know any companies in the UK i could send it to to be fixed and again what would be a reasonable price to expect to have this fixed/replaced for?
its 149$ usd for apple to fix it out of warranty idk how much that makes it in the uk

Corrosion build up on iPhone 3Gs charging port.
Possibly from cord shorting out. Giving the 'This device not made to charge' message when plugged in. Works on car charger. Any advice on cleaning aqua green build up on charging port at bottom of phone?
Hi,
You can try using a small brush, like a toothbrush, to remove any debris or light corrosion.
This article: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3302 describes corrosion that can be caused by water damage.

IPhone 3gs charger port melted and home button is super hard
My iPhone was charging over night and in the morning I found that charger and the iPhone was melting and now it doesn't turn on and doesn't charge what do I do now?
Make an appointment at an Apple store, if still under warranty all will be replaced if determined to be a hardware failure not caused by user misuse. If you're out of warranty, Apple offers an out of warranty replacement program, the cost in the US is $199.

Port 62078 open ( porta 62078 aberta ) - IPhone 3Gs
http://support.apple.com/kb/ts1629?viewlocale=pt_BR&locale=pt_BR
Gostaria de saber se mais alguém está tendo este problema, e como resolve-lo.
Atenciosamente
( o )
Due to a recent break in my personal network, I decided to do a search of allexisting security falahas in my environment, and interestingly found a singleopen port on my IPhone 3Gs, port 62078.
I conducted an intensive search on the internet about it, and found that some people are having the same problem.
I checked the Apple site, what are the ports used by your hardware, and port 62078 is not specified.
http://support.apple.com/kb/ts1629?viewlocale=pt_BR&locale=pt_BR
I wonder if anyone else is having this problem, and how to solve it.

( o )Many thanks for your answer.
Before starting a new discussion I tried everything of your link, google etc... nothing works for me.
I´m using a pc running windows 8, last version of itunes etc.. tried using different usb ports, uninstalling avast antivirus but nothing works.
Any other suggestion? -
My iPhone 3GS keeps turning itself off all the time the power/sleep button dosent work so it's quiet annoying having to plug it in all the time dose anyone have a fix for this?
The "fix" is to get the phone repaired. There's no magic solution for a broken phone.
Bring your phone ant $149 to Apple for an out of warranty replacement, or find a 3rd party repair shop near you. -

Syncing to a "New" Computer or replacing a "crashed" Hard Drive -
Hey, just bought an iPhone 3GS off a friend an am looking to sync it to iTunes The version is 4.3.3. Is this normal ?. The device fails to appear in Itunes however. I have checked my USB ports under device manager and there is an 'Standard Enhanced PCI to USB Host Controller'. Does this mean all my ports are 2.0? When I connect my device it says ' This device Can perform faster' if connected to a USB port. Need Advice.
ThanksMinimum requirements for the iPhone 3GS for Windows for USB is 2.0.

This article may help. http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4049
Since yours says, "enhanced" .. it should be 2.0
Try disabling a/v software and turning off the Firewall then sync.
Disable antivirus software
Turn Windows Firewall on or off

If you own an iPhone that is ineligible for warranty service but is eligible for Out-of-Warranty (OOW) Service, Apple will service your iPhone for the Out-of-Warranty Service fee listed below.

iPhone 3G, Original iPhone

I have a broken iphone 3gs and I was wondering if I should either save up for a OOW replacement or if I should sell it on ebay and use the money to buy an iPhone 4?
The $199 plus applicable sales tax for the OOW replacement includes a 90 day warranty and does not require signing a new two year contract with AT&T.
You can purchase an iPhone 4 16GB for $199 plus applicable sales tax which is AT&T's subsidized price if you qualify for AT&T's upgrade pricing with a new phone, which includes a one year warranty along with signing a new two year contract for the subsidy. -
I want change my broken iPhone 3GS for and update to iPhone 4S
I want to change my iPhone 3GS for an iPhone 4S becouse my iPhone is broken and i have my warrants, and i want upgrade to iPhone 4S, how much it Will cost me do it?
You will have to buy an iphone 4s at the full price unless you have upgrade pricing from your carrier.

MY IPHONE 3GS START TO GET REALLY HOT, AND AFTER THAT ALMOST EXPLODE...ITS BROKEN NOW.... THE BATTERY GETS FAT... WHATS THE SOLUTION NOW???
Unfortunately it looks like your 3GS' battery has expanded so much that it cracked the whole case wide open. If you have AppleCare on your device then you're all set, just take it to your local Apple Store.
If not, then still take it to the store. Complain about the battery bursting, and make sure to tell them that it's for sure a defect (you'd think it's obvious, but sometimes you just need to drive the point in), and that it potentially could have been and still be a hazard.
Remind them that the phone has not been in any adverse conditions, extreme temperatures, or abused in any way but that you just merely used it normally. (I'm assuming that's the truth?)
If they're good about it they should replace the broken phone for you; but unfortunately there's little chance of repairing your current device. -
My iphone 4 is broken due to water damage.
I'm considering purchasing a cheap iphone until my upgrade.
If I bought and iphone 3gs would I be able to retrieve the date from my icloud (contacts etc) for the 3gs?
Thanks
SarahTo access iCloud all your iPhone needs is iOS 5 or later and an Internet connection, either via cell service or WiFi. Then just set up iCloud with the same Apple ID and password you've been using on your iPhone 4.
You might want to consider just getting your iPhone 4 replaced by Apple. Based on the prices I've seen for iPhone 3GS units, Apple's replacement price isn't that much more, and you'll be certain of getting a working, non-hacked iPhone. Apple's replacement price for the iPhone 4 is US $149.
