IPhone 3Gs calendar sync

Having a problem with my phone that has the Apple tech asking me to "restart" my phone as new. He warns I will lose any non-backed up information (contacts, pictures, calendars etc.). I have synced with iTunes and have stored my contacts and pictures on my Windows pc.
Question is my calendar. I use only the calendar on the iPhone and don't sync with any other application (no Outlook, Google). Has iTunes saved my calendar info? When I sync after restarting my phone, will my calendar be restored? If not what steps should I take prior to restarting?

Can someone please help me?!?! I tired deleting my calendars once again off my iPhone and re-synce with my Mac and now none of the calendars from my mac will sync to my phone.

I am having the same problem. I have snow leopard and since I upgraded to itune 5.0, I have had nothing but problems. In icloud, all of my events quadrupled which then caused all my ical events to do the same on my computer and phone. What a nightmare! The apple support guy had never seen anything like it! I have since cleaned up my calendar on both my phone and macbook, but now any event I add to my phone does not show up during sync. I noticed that when I go into mail, contacts, calendars and then go into my gmail account, the calendar button is set to off. If i try to switch it on, I get a message asking what I would like to do with the local calendars on my phone. I am afraid to do anything so I just cancel! Any thoughts? The calendar on my computer is current so I could always over write my phone during a sync--but still unsure. Thanks

You should be able to sync your 3GS to your computer and make a backup. Then connect your iPhone 4S and restore from a backup. This should effectively move all your data to your new device. Report back if you have any problems.
If you are wanting to move our data from a Windows machine to your Mac, just let us know.

"sync" fails to open? Do you mean, iTunes?
If you manually open iTunes, does your iPhone show up in the left column?
If so...
Click on your iPhone in the left column of iTunes.
Click on the "Summary" tab in the right colum of iTunes.
Scroll down to "Options"
Select "Open iTunes when this iPhone is connected"

Can't Synq iPhone 3GS Calendars after installing iOS6, any suggestions?
I'm all mac-based and followed the instructions for the upgrade to iOS6 software for iPhone but now my calendars won't synq. When I connect to iTunes and run the synq process, it gets stuck on the Calendar step and will not finish the synq process. I have to either wait for it to quit or force it to quit. Additionally, when I try to log a new event or meeting onto the Calendar on the iPhone, it will lock up and quit the app. I then have to shut down the iPhone to get it to open again but it just locks up again when I try to log a new event. Any suggestions? I'm tempted to do a back up and reinstall but don't want to risk any data loss.

I am using Rogers, which does support tethering.
The iPhone does not show up in the list of devices in the Bluetooth preference panel. It fails at the Pairing step of the Bluetooth setup assistant.

Why is iPhone 3gs not syncing iCal on os x Mountain Lion? I just bought MacBook Air, 10.8.1. Sync worked for Address book but not iCal.

why my iPhone 3gs cannot sync to itunes? after i click synced, the phone seemed to sync to itunes but when it's about to complete, itunes cancelled the sync. WHYYYY? I've been having this problem since i've updated my iPhone to iO5.

Two things to try:
If you have a Windows computer open a Command window and type:
netsh winsock reset
If this doesn't fix it, or if you have a Mac, your current backup may be corrupted. Delete it by going to iTunes Preferences, Devices tab, highlight the backup and delete it.
And if this still doesn't fix it, you may have a badly corrupted backup. Delete it manually by going the the Backup folder and deleting everything in it. You can find it as follows:
Mac OS: ~Library/Application Support/MobileSync/Backup
Windows XP %AppData%\Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup
Windows Vista and Windows 7: %AppData%\Roaming\Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup

You got a new computer? Copy everything from your old computer, or your backup copy of your old computer, to your new one.

why does my iphone 3gs not sync with contacts? In fact it loses contacts during syncing.
In Itunes it is set to automatically sync to the laptop and in info sync contacts is checked and all contacts are checked.

On my Mac Pro, contacts and Thunderbird contacts are synced. I want my Iphone to sync with the Contacts on the Mac Pro. Incidently I am not using Icloud. Is that the problem?

After updating my Iphone 3GS to OIS5, my calendars will not sync. Mail and contacts sync just fine. Somehow the calendar entries were lost. The entries still reside on my PC.

It sounds like it was likely jailbroken and will never activate.
But if not, contact the original cellular carrier to make sure it was unlocked.

IPhone 3GS everything syncs except PC calendar events

iPhone 3GS v6.1.2; iTunes v11.0.1.12; PC Windows 7 & Outlook 2010. Sometime during my trip (HI > NV > TX > HI) my iPhone and Outlook calendar stopped syncing. Everything syncs except the calendar events; even the birthdays sync. I only have one PC calendar and one iPhone calendar. When I use the Advanced - Replace information on this iPhone - Calendar feature, the result is only Birthdays appear on my iPhone until I manually select the calendar under From My PC on the iPhone. It is as though iTunes isn't recognizing the iPhone calendar. Every test to add or delete an event from either the iPhone or PC calendar does not get sent to the other device. The usual iTunes sync error allowing me to select which event is correct never appears. Any and all ideas will be appreciated. I've spent several days reading through the various "sync" issues posts to no avail. I'm sure it is something I did incorrectly trying to resolve the issue but ...

Outlook/iPhone Multiple calendar sync

Hi
I have a work calendar in Outlook, driven from Exchange and a second personal calendar containing things that don't apply to work (birthdays, social events and so on). While both calendars appear in Outlook, I can't get the personal calendar to sync with the iPhone at all. In iTunes, the Exchange calendar appears but not the personal calendar.
How do I sync with the iPhone (its my first iPhone - a 3GS so I think I'm running the latest OS etc) so I get both calendars on view?

I have both a .mac account and an outlook account. My .mac acct is used for my personal entries and syncs with my iphone as well as my mac computers at home. My outlook calendar syncs my work items from my pc at work to my iphone. My problem is everything syncs to my iphone, but outlook won't sync to my .mac and .mac won't sync to outlook. This causes me to have multiple entries on my phone because I will enter something on my .mac calendar, but, because it doesn't show up on outlook, I then add it to my outlook calendar and then i have the same entry entered twice on my iphone. What a pain in the butt. Is there an end run around this?

Outlook & iPhone 3GS: calendar date change issue.

I am using Outlook 2007 & iPhone 3GS - both fully updated.
When I set up a recurring full day event (such as a birthday) in Outlook and then sync with iPhone the dates get changed and moved by a day or two (ahead of time). This does not happen with regular appointments that are only set up for an hour or so. It seems to be only with full day events? The change is also made in Outlook - like the iPhoen takes precedence.
Can someone help please? This is a real pain in the ***.

I did this to try :
create a calendar event on my Passport, set for sunday 8th, and save it, and close the calendar app
open the calendar app, go to that even and edit it.
I can click on the "All Day" line, right under the participants list, this opens a new page
In that page, I have:
at the top the date
followed by the 7 days of the week
right underneath a line with two dropdown menus : Event Starts / Event Ends
and then a line with the Timezone, and the toggle "All day" that is set to ON
and finally a dropdown menu for repetition.
I can tap on the "Event Starts" dropdown menu, and it opens and I can choose another date.
Do you confirm that this is what you are trying to do?

All software is up to date but my IMAC has stopped syncing music and video to my iphone 3gs.
The phone will sync fine on a windows pc but I prefer to use the IMAC photos don't appear to be an issue

Hello, can someone please help me with this?
I just got the Iphone 3gs 2 days ago for my birthday. The man at the store told me that the ringtones on my old phone could be transferred to my Iphone through Itunes. When I look in my Itunes the first problem I had was not being able to put anything in the Ringtone section. My ringtones I have downloaded from the internet site called "Phonezoo". My old phone was much simpler (and now I'm debating my purchase of this Iphone) all I had to do was download it into itunes put my memory card in and transfer them to the card, put the card in my phone and tada done. The tunes are still in my Itunes but will not drop into my "Ringtones" section now.
The few that have, only two have transferred to my phone and the rest will not transfer to my phone. They are 30 sec clips or less. I do not understand why this is so difficult. I have gotten two to transfer over but they are 1 sec clips that I wanted to use for a text message tone, not as a ringer.
Also: Is it not possible to change the text message sound to a custom sound like you can ringtones? The two 1 second tones are in my ringer tones but not my message tones.
I am currently using my laptop which has Vista, I do have a desk top which has Windows xp- does it matter which one I use perhaps? (They both have my Itunes account on them.)

You have to create ringtones for the iphone. Google will find several free ways to do this.

It is not possible.

No, but pick one. The iphone will sync to one computer at a time. If you change computers, then it will erase the current content and replace with content from the new computer.
