IPhone 3GS disabled for 23,205,490 minutes?!

Hi Apple Community, I have a big problem. My old iPhone 3GS just got the new iOS 6.1.6 and I thought it would be great! So I went to go update it and later came to find out it was out of battery. I charged it just like I normally do. It finally came on showing the iOS 6 logo, but it was on emergency calls only. I thought if I let the battery drain again it might fix it. So I did that, and it just got worse. It finally drained of battery and I charged it again, but I turned it on to find that it was disabled for 23 million minutes, which I did the math for, and it is equivalent to 44 years! If you're wondering why I don't do a hard reset, it's because I can't. My iPhone 3GS' sleep/wake button doesn't work. If anyone knows a way to fix this please say so. Thank you!

Wait 42 and a half years, then try again, or force your phone into recovery mode & restore it:
Turn the phone off. Leave the USB cable connected to your computer, but NOT your phone, iTunes running, press & hold the home button while connecting the USB cable to your dock connector, continue holding the home button until you see “Connect to iTunes” on the screen. You may now release the home button. iTunes should now display that it has detected your phone in recovery mode, if not quit and reopen iTunes. If you still don't see the recovery message repeat these steps again. iTunes will give you the option to restore from a backup or set up as new.

  • Iphone disabled for over 23 million minutes!

I have an iphone 5c and it has been disabled for over 23 million minutes for a few weeks now. I went to search how i could fix this and hopefully get back to using my phone and i realised i had to have my home button and power button in order to work. My home button doesn't work so before i was using Assistive touch. I have tried restoring it from itunes but there was no chance because i had to have a home button in order to work. It was very upsetting. I even booked an appointment with Apple and they said they'd fix it for £100 and i wasn't willing to pay that much because i might as well of got a new phone. Is there anyway i can still use this phone? I don't want to throw it away because it will unlock in 41.9 years time. Anyone help please?

From the article I posted above you can do this on your computer:
    Find My iPhone
If you enabled Find My iPhone through iCloud, you can use it to erase your device.
    Go to icloud.com/#find.
If prompted, sign in with your iCloud Apple ID.
Click All Devices at the top of your browser window.
Select the device you want to erase.
Click "Erase [device]" to erase your device and its passcode.
Use the Setup Assistant on your device to restore the most recent backup.

  • My iPod Touch 4th gen is disabled for 22,000,000 minutes. I remember the passcode, and I can't restore.

My iPod Touch 4th gen is disabled for 22,000,000 minutes. I have looked all around the Apple support communities and I always find the same "solution", which is to put it into DFU or recovery mode and restore from a backup. Here's my problem: My computer crashed awhile back and I had to completely start over from scratch. So, unfortunately, a backup of my device no longer exists on this computer or any other computer.
Is there any way I can simply get rid of the disable? I remember my passcode, so that isn't a problem, all I need is to be able to input my passcode.
Or, do I absolutely have to restore to factory settings, and lose all my data?
By the way, I hope it does not matter, but I can't remember the IOS is was last updated with.
    Thanks.

  • Iphone is disabled, try again in 1 minute

Yesterday I updated to 8.1.2.  Today I received a phone call, and near the end I could hear buzzing of a notification -- two of them.  When I hung up the phone (maybe 5-10 seconds later) it had the message "iphone is disabled, try again in 1 minute" (might not be the exact wording/punctuation) and I couldn't use the phone.  It did bring me up with the emergency call keypad, but I didn't use it because I needed to get to my contacts or otherwise look up the number I needed to call at that point.  After a short time (probably the 1 minute promised in the message) the entry screen for putting in my passcode appeared, and I was able to make my call.
I also had a dropped call earlier in the day, and that person immediately called me back with no problems (might just be a coincidence.)
The phone seems to be fine, but having it turn itself off is quite unnerving.  Does anyone have any idea what happened?  Does this sound familiar?

    Hi cathy fasano,
Welcome to the Apple Support Communities!
The alert you received happens when the passcode on an iOS device is entered six times in a row.
Forgot passcode for your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch, or your device is disabled - Apple Support
I realize the notification came up in a very short amount of time after the call you were on ended. In this situation, I would first suggest troubleshooting the touch screen. It may be possible that the touch screen thought it was receiving input for your passcode. Please use the attached article for information on troubleshooting touchscreen.
