Iphone 3gs getting warmed up

I just brought 16gb 3gs,i just experienced my handset getting warmed up when i browse for certain period..is it to worry or its co'mon with smart phones??i just brought it 3 days before..how to fix it??is it exactly warming or heating??

It's not worry-some if it's just generally warm. While browsing, or playing music, or doing anything, you should notice a slight temperature increase.
You have to remember that the iPhone 4 is like a computer, with similar parts, etc. When a computer processes, the CPU temperature usually increases due to increased stress. Similar thing for the iPhone.
Once again though, if it gets to the point of discomfort, or even burning, this is NOT a normal experience for the phone.

I have iphone3gs just upgraded to iOS5 just now.
So far i am not experiencing any slow down because of the new iOS.. Rather i feel like its slightly faster than the previous version (4.3.5)..
One of the first thing i want to try was the location based reminders.. After upgrade i coudn't find the option, and went trough the user manual to find out that it is not available for 3gs..:(

sounds like a battery defect if it's under warrenty hand it in
if not I would have a 3th party repair place to change the battery as it could begin to expand and break the glass

Iphone 3GS gets -1 error on iOS 6.0.1 update??

Hello everyone!
I have a iphone 3GS (fully legit, no jailbreaks, no funny business) and decided to upgrade to iOS 6.0.1 (or the lastest version of 6). Everything went fine and dandy until the update reached the "restoring firmware on the iPhone" stage... Both the itunes and the iphone's progress bars were full and stood there being full for over 15 minutes, until the software decided to present me with an error box!
I got a -1 error and the description was that my hardware was faulty or damaged (or something). That came as a surprise to me, since my hardware was fine just before I started this nonsense... So, I surfed the web, looked at forum posts, tried a couple of things (tinyUmbrella, different OS) and so far no luck, now my phone is stuck on a recovery cycle and everytime I get the same error.
I have tried:
-Updating iTunes
-Rebooting
-Different OS
-TinyUmbrella (to force out of recovery)
-Restarting the phone on DFU
-Restarting the phone without DFU
-Doing the update over and over
-Checked for any "third-party" software that might offend iTunes (nothing, all pure and proper for OSX so far)
Nothing worked/improved the situation.
I'm tempted to try:
-Banging the phone against the wall
-Screaming at it
-Putting it away forever and just use my Nexus S full-time
-Calling a Vodoo Doctor
-Calling a Wiccan
-Calling the Ghostbusters
Most of these would ease my pain for sure! If only android had a nifty app to follow the stock market and a handy-dandy "notes" app...oh wait...
...I guess stunts like this might explain why the market share just won't grow now won't they Apple?? I mean common, this takes the concept of "full system upgrade" a bit too far!
Seriously now, at this point I'm considering to take this hunk of not-so-good apple hardware to my local "handy-fixEverything-techGuy" or even to an Apple Store to ask a quote for a hardware repair...Or just to make a big fuss about how the phone was working well before this very nice system update and now it's a paperweight with touchscreen! However I fear that it will be rather pointless, since I'm not willing to pay more than $50 to get whatever this might have broken fixed, and they will ask me for more than that. I might give it a shot anyway...
So, any ideas? Did overlook any potential solution or cause for my problem?

I believe that all iPhones, purchased in Egypt, from official sources, are sold as carrier locked. So, your phone was hacked by someone so you could use it in Germany. Sorry, but that's what happens to hacked iPhones.
No one here can help you, nor can/will Apple, and since none of the carriers in Egypt offer official unlocking, your choices are not good.

Why is my iPhone 3gs getting slower?

I have an iPhone 3GS 32GB, and it is about 2/3 filled with music, photos, contacts, apps, etc.
In the last few months the device has been getting slower - examples are:
- keyboard strokes take up to 2 seconds until they are reflected on the UI.
- screen swap by 90 degrees takes up to 4 seconds to be made.
- opening the iphone settings menu shows an empty grey screen for 3 seconds, and then the menu icons start to appear.
it's a hassle.
any help out of this?

Restore iPhone as New. Allow iTunes to Back up your iPhone when you begin. But Restore iPhone as New. Then after iTunes is completely done. You can go back later and put your contacts and everything back by Restoring From Backup.

Sometimes accu very quick empty. If this happens, Iphone 4 gets warm.

Iphone 4 with newest IOS 6.1. Sometime the accu gets very quick emty (half a day from 100% to 0). If this is happens the Iphone gets warm (both sides, display and back side)
Only a switch to flight modus and back to normal modus helps.

I heared today from the exchange bug and I think that is the problem. I will wait till the patch comes out and will add a comment after install.

IPhone 3GS getting hot after adding hotmail active sync

After adding 2 of my hotmail account as Microsoft exchange accounts using active sync, I have noticed that my iphone 3GS is getting extremely hot. I already have gmail through exchange for more than a year now for contacts and calendar. This heating problem started after adding these 2 hotmail accounts. Anyone else experiencing the same issue. Please help.

Try resetting your iPhone. From the Home screen choose Settings > General > Reset > Reset All Settings. All your preferences are reset, but no data or media is deleted.
See if that makes a difference.

IPhone 4S gets warm

When browsing the internet, I've noticed that my iPhone 4S gets really hot. I can especially feel heat coming out of the sim card slot area. Anyone having the same issue?
I've made an appointment for tomorrow with Genius Bar to have them take a look.

So I just got back from the Apple store. First off, unless they see an error on their end with the phone they won't replace it with a new one. I spoke with the advisor guy and told him how I travelled far just to come to my appointment and I know that it'll happen again with the phone heating up. He ended up exchanging it after some influencing on my part.
The phone, so far, is ok. Gets a bit warm but not as hot as my old one. I'll keep you up-to-date with the progress of it.
I'm under the Sprint network btw.

Iphone 3gs getting slower every day

my iPhone 3gs is freezing up and lagging (when I type mostly) I have the updated ISO on in and I freed up some room in the memory, so what else could it be and how can I make it run faster like it used to?
also if I do a recovery on it and set it back to factory settings would it help or hurt? and what is the best way to do the reset? are there any step by step instructions for this anywhere?

My Maxx started slowing down, actually hanging 5 to 15 seconds at times, after the last build 9.8.20-72_VZW-16-5. I've had Droid 4.1.2 before this with no slow downs. I've cleared cache, apps, checked memory, etc. I haven't tried factory default yet because I expect I will loose much of the configuration info and it's a long process to set up again, much like getting a new phone.
Has anyone found the core problem?
Suspect it may be that the latest VZW build contains additional data mining called "Relevant Mobile Advertising Program Enhancement" which collects data for directed advertising. I opted out of this on the "privacy choices page" and will see if this helps.

IPhone 3GS gets error when syncing after installing ios6

I just updated my iPhone 3GS to ios6, and it appears to have added a ton of Gigs to the phone. I've been trying to take apps and other things off the phone, but I'm still over my limit. And, after several syncs, I got the following error message:
The iPhone "(name of my phone)" cannot be synced. An unknown error occurred (1156).
Anyone have a solution? I'm not eligible for an upgrade until next spring because the 4S I purchased last fall was stolen and never recovered. Right after I left the store. Sigh. So I'm stuck with this one for now. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Restore your device as NEW (not from backup). If that doesn't work, then you'll need to bring your phone to Apple for evaluation.
