Iphone 3gs ios4.0.2 camera is stuck at shutter when I open the camera app

My iphone 3gs camera has stopped working.
i have restored the iphone to new iphone and restarted the iphone notting has worked?
has anyone come a cross this problem on ios4.0.2 and found a solution?

Same here. It's the new iOS 4 software that new 3GS owners are affected by these glitches. I had an old 3GS and worked fine with iOS 4. The day I Replaced it with a newer 3GS (about 3 weeks ago) and now I have all these iOS 4 issues too. Hopefully 4.2 will fix these issues. I can only record like 10secs or less of videos then it will crash! Its annoying how they don't test these problems -_-'

Have you tried closing the Camera app via the multitasking bar and seeing if it works when you re-open it ? Double-click the home button to open the taskbar, and then swipe or drag the Camera app's screen from there up and off the top of the screen to close it, and click the home button to close the taskbar.
If that doesn't work then you could try a reset : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.

I simply open the camera and a pop up saying "Could not start the camera. Close other applications and try opening the camera again" appears and only lets me press okay.
Memory seems to be okay, can't figure out what it may be.
Please, how can I fix this? Any help is appriciated.

I had the same problem with my Bold and tried everything until out of frustration i just clicked the center picture taking button before the "Could not start the camera. Close other applications and try opening the camera again" message came up and believe it or not that solved the problem. Works fine now!

You might want to close out all apps first and foremost:

Then it might be worth attempting a restart of the iPhone, and then a reset, should that not resolve the issue.

Having connected my new iPhone 6 to itunes and setting it up as normal... i transferred music to it as normal but when i open the music app and select a playlist it has a download cloud next to each track...

After connecting my new iPhone 6 to iTunes, i transferred my music as i always have done. After opening the music app and selecting a playlist there is a download cloud next to each track... this is also the case with each podcast. Also once i reconnect the phone to iTunes go to add another playlist, at the top the "sync music" check tick has disappeared. when i re check that box again it says "Do you want to sync this iPhone all data will be erased"
can anyone help at all?

It was not legitimately unlocked by the carrier it was originally locked to. ONLY the carrier it is locked to can authorize unlocking it.
In order to allow it to be used on a different carrier, the phone was hacked or jailbroken. An unauthorized modification was made to the phone. That modification has damaged the phone. You can not get support for it here or from Apple.

IPhone 5 often freezes when I open the camera

My iPhone 5S which is only 4 months old has had an annoying problem with freezing up every so often when I open up my camera. The screen goes black and nothing will work. The only thing I can do is switch the power off and back on. If I do not turn the phone off, then after a few minutes the phone will work fine unless you press the camera again and then the viewing screen remains black and you cannot use the camera so you have to turn the power off.
Very very annoying as this is my first switch over from Android to Apple and I'm not too impressed with this problem or the battery life!!!

I had a similar problem myself. This is what helped me.
I went to the App store app, scrolled to the bottom, logged out of the account, re logged in with my Apple ID. Then went back to app updates. Once I put in my ID password all was fine.

First off, try a reset of the phone. Hold the sleep/wake and home buttons together until you see the Apple logo and then release. After the phone restarts, see if the problem persists.

Hi Spacesa and welcome to the forums,
Press the alt escape key (>looks like that) together and it will show you the applications you have running.
Most people close the applications by pressing the escape or red key. This does not close the applications.
Each application has a CLOSE option. For instance if you are in the calendar hit the menu key (spotted key) and scroll down to the bottom CLOSE is listed. Go through each application and press close. Go into the browser press menu and options select cache operations clear all categories and hit escape it will say cleaning memory.
Go to options - security - memory cleaning - enable it. The BB will now clean memory when idle for 5 minutes.
you will have an icon on you screen for memory cleaning make sure you press it. Once you have done this. Pull the battery for about 30 seconds, replace and try your camera, it should work.
Make sure you use the CLOSE button each time you are done with an application. Your camera should be available to you when you like.
Sorry for the length of this post, but I wanted to make sure we covered all aspects.
