IPHONE 3gs Mic is lower side

I got a iphone 3gs two weeks ago.this is the very first time I am using apple product. so far phone is better only thing is it s mic is low
( not that bad but not perfect ) I am running ios 6 .0.1 and modem firmware 05.16.07 .
any suggestion guys ? really appreciate...................

Don't quite understand what you need. If mic placement on the phone is the issue, it is on the bottom edge of the case. Since this was problematic, the product has evolved and now the i5 has three mics, two below and one behind for better reception and noise cancellation.
If the mic VOLUME is the issue, then you're gonna have to speak louder. The earpiece volume is adjustable, but the mic reception volume adjustment is automatic.

  • IPhone 3GS Mic Volume Low

    Hi,
Whenever I am talking on my iphone 3GS (running 3.1.3) , the second party always tells me that I sound "far" as if I am talking from a tunnel.
    Is anybody experiencing that?
    Thanks,

I get the same problem with my 3GS. People tell me that I sound very quiet when I call them. I've recently updated to iOS 4.0.1 with no change.
I have to be honest and say that I'm not very impressed with my iPhone in terms of it being a phone. I generally have to turn off 3G to get decent reception and not get dropped calls. My contract lasts for another 12 months, but I'll be seriously considering a HTC phone running Android when it's due for renewal.

  • My volume on the Iphone 3GS is very low is it an equipment problem, setting problem or update problem?

My volume on the iPhone 3GS is very low. Is it an equipment problem, settings problem or update problem? And, is there a fix other than having Apple fix it?

Have you had a look here to make sure it is set up how you want it...

  • IPhone 3GS mic volume

    Hi,
Any idea how to (or is it possible) to adjust the mic volume on the 3GS? My callers have been complaining that I'm talking very softly, they can hardly hear me, even when I'm almost to the point of shouting. I switched back to my Sony phone and it's ok. Mic volume became worse when I use my Motorola H710 bluetooth headset with the 3GS.
    Any help?
    Thanks.

Good idea, but i'm sure apple doesn't allow applications to access something like that... i too have a major problem with volume being super quiet on speakerphone and earpiece phone. Even at full volume it is hard to hear people even when i am somewhere quiet, forget being able to hear people if i am somwhere even slightly noisy!
Phones should be designed so that when you are at mid volume it is good for 90% of all situations, turning it way up or way down should only be required for very rare noisy/quiet situations. Running at full blast all the time is crazy....

  • Iphone 3gs stuck in low battery.

    hi
yesterday my iphone stuck in buttery logo and when i connected to my computer it stuck in apple logo
please help me i have tried everything in internet

"I have tried everything on the internet" doesn't tell us anything.  Please be specific so we don't waste time suggesting things you've already done.
Also, info such as iOS, iTunes and computer OS versions is useful.  Is this phone jailbroken?

  • IPhone 3gs volume very low after updating to iOS4.2.1???

After updating to ios 4.2.1 my iphone volume has lowered to much extent.
Now it is hardly audible. And please don't tell me to check volume limit because it is already off.
    Keyboard clicks are hardly audible.
    iPod volume has also lowered.
Volume of every application is too silent.
SO please help me out of this.

I had the same problem and tried to change to a different languge and then back to english and as soon as I did that my volume limit is back to its highest level as before so it worked for me. Worth trying guys! Hope it works for you cos I know it didn't work for some.

  • How do I get rid of a white screen on an iPhone 3GS?

My iPhone 3GS was running low on battery so I plugged it into my car charger.  I checked on it a few minutes later and when I pressed the Home button, only got a white screen (like a flashlight app but don't have one).  I tried to power it off, but couldn't.  When I got home, I plugged it into my laptop and it synced as if nothing was wrong but I still have a white screen.

  • IPhone 3GS stuck in recovery mode unable to restore

    Hello,
My iPhone 3GS was running low in battery and then it went off on its own. Plugged into car charger, usually I would see the charging sign but curiously not this time. Unable to turn on the phone, it's all black. Got home and plug into the computer and it said that it's in recovery mode and it needed to be restored. Attempted to restore but kept on getting unable to restore due to error (21). Did a quick search and have done the followings; (updated all softwares, turned off computer, check USB wire, turned off firewall, created new user, used a different computer....) still unable to restore. screen would turn to white blank screen. Called Apple Support and they had me tried everything again and still nothing. Please help...

took it to Apple Store and they gave me a new one..

  • The Bluetooth low energy protocol is not backward compatible with classic Bluetooth protocol. My iPhone 4s can not find my sonny in-dash player. However my iPhone 3GS does it. Very disappointed with this. Any idea how it can be fixed???

    Hello,
You are correct, Blue tooth low engergy, BTLE.(only) devices are not backward compatible with Classic bluetooth and cannot connect.
However the Apple 4S and above have Bluetooth 4.0 support.. Hardware wise it has bothClassic Bluetooth, like the 3GS, as well as Bluetooth Low Energy.  There is no good reason why your 4s cannot communicate to your Sony in-dash player using the Classic bluetooth that resides in the 4S.
I know that this does not answer the why it does not work, but it should work. Do you have to somehow re-pair the new phone up to the player?  Not  knowing the model of the Sony it is hard to investigate.
And I hate to ask but are you sure that the Bluetooth radio is on in the phone?

  • Why is the speakerphone so low in iPhone 3GS?

Why is the speakerphone so low in iPhone 3GS? I have a maximum volume still it is not clear, Is there a way to increase it by any other method?

I have the same issue. Low volume while using speakerphone function. At 1' (30cm) it measures at almost half the dB of a blackberry pearl speakerphone. Basically renders the speakerphone function unusable in anything but the quietest environments, and even then its questionable. There are several people in the office I work at that have a 3G and 3GS phones. 3G phones tend to be a bit better but still quiet compared to Motorola, Nokia, and Blackberries. The other 3GS phones were just as bad as mine. This is definitely not a user error.

  • My iPhone 3GS has dead spots on the left side of the screen, does anyone know how this problem has started or how I can fix this?

Over the past couple of months, my iPhone 3GS has had dead spots on the left side of the screen, preventing me from using the r, d and x keys, the number 4 and the semi colon and comma keys. Does anybody have any ideas on why this has happened or any ideas that I'll be able to fix this problem?
Just a note; I can't put my phone to sleep or turn off as my lock button isn't working, so I'm using the AssistiveTouch settings.
    Thanks.

I would gladly upgrade to the next model if my contract was due!
This has no impact on the ability to purchase a new iPhone... it simply means that the newer one will not be at a fully subsidized price.
You could always take it to Apple and do an Out of Warranty exchange (I'm assuming the device is out of warranty) for $149 US.
