IPhone 3GS no longer works as it did the past 2 months!!

Despite the reputation of the AT&T network, I decided to make the switch (and get an iPhone) back in January. For the past 2 months, everything worked flawlessly! AS GOOD AS (dare I say) Verizon! No dropped calls. Good network (3G) coverage...no problems. NOW: I can no longer use my phone at my house! I HAVE to connect to my wi-fi. Calls can't be made. The service ***** now! I chat w/tech support, and they tell me that it's because of the lack of 'towers'. So I asked them if they just recently tore some down, and explained my GREAT service for the past 2 months! NO HELP from them...Anyone here have any ideas? Thanks!!

You can lock your SIM card, so it can’t be used without a Personal Identification Number (PIN). You must enter the PIN each time you turn iPhone off and turn it back on again. Some carriers require a SIM PIN in order to use iPhone.

Hi all. Since the ios 4.3.2 update my iPhone 3GS no longer works correctly with the bluetooth in my car (2006 Acura TL). I know it's not an issue with the car and the only thing that has changed is the update with the phone. Anybody else having this issue? I have unpaired, tried to re-pair, reset the network settings, reset all of the settings, and did a restore. I'm at a loss with what to do next.

Its becoming a problem of epic proportions...so many people are having the exact same problem...I have a Feb 2010 Toyota Land Cruiser Series 200 and since upgrading to OS 4 my USB function no longer works like it did before the upgrade.
My Apple has become a LEMON!!
Would be nice to hear that Apple recognises there is a problem...buut maybe they are too busy counting all their money to care!!

IPhone 3GS no longer works with Toyota Prius

I have an iPhone 3GS and a 2010 Toyota Prius (model V) that worked fine together until I upgraded to iOS 4. Now it will play music for about 15 seconds and then cut out... with an error message on the Prius dash that it cannot read the USB device.
Anyone encountered this or know any workarounds?

The safari app no longer works since I did the last update. Does anyone know how to fix it?

Since the Safari app came with my iPad, it seems to be the default app for opening links in messages etc. and I cannot delete it to reinstall it. It stopped working when I did the last software update. Has anyone else had this problem? If so. Were you able to fix it?

Close all apps in multi-tasking view.
1. Double tap the home button to bring up the multi-tasking view
2. Swipe the app's windows upwards to close
3. The app will fly off the screen

Apologies: I've just joined the community and didn't quite figure how to write a msg! Hope it works...
Anyway,
I read many posts on this annoying error message (Waiting for changes to be applied) in the last 2/3 days, but they all refer to the sync staying stuck on it.
Mine doesn't.
I read the message, then it quickly shuts down the sync and the iTunes progress bar only shows the apple...
As suggested by many, I removed voice msgs, turned off/on, tried to sync in individual stages (calendar only...) but nothing works.
I am up to date on iTunes (11.1.1.11) and have IOS 6.1.3 on my phone, to sync on a Win8 pc (all worked fine until recently).
I have had this phone for several years and it has never done this.
It worked absolutely fine, until I loaded the latest version of iTunes it seems...
Any suggestions?

ALSO, on the iPod under Settings>General>iTunes Sync, you may need to back out of the "iTunes Wi-fi Sync," and reopen it to get it to update.
(I use iTunes 11.1.5.5)

Try a simple re-set. Hold power and home together for 20-30 seconds until you see the Apple logo.

After Recent upgrade to iOS 5.0.1 iphone 3GS no longer voice dials.

I have an iphone 3gs, and right up until I did the update a few days ago, I used voice command to dial frequently. Now, after the 5.0.1 software upgrade, my voice command recognizes commands for ipon and time only. It doesn't recognize any calling features. Any ideas on how to fix this? My 3GS iPhone voicemail no longer works after installing OS 4.2. My ATT voicemail box still works ok. I've reset the password and network. Any ideas? ATT can't help as they think its a problem with the phone.

A call comes in, gets listed as a missed call and shows up as missed call. No indication nor a message saying that a voice mail has been left. When I dial my ATT voice mail box by holding down the 1 key, I have a message waiting. Used to be when voice mail arrived there would be an indicator lit on the voice mail icon on the phone and I could listen to the voice mail via the visual voice mail on the phone.

I have had a 3GS for 2+ years. After upgrading to IOS 4 (now 4.3.5) I began having problems. In the past week, my screen went to the itunes logo and USB cable twice -- unprovoked -- just found it sitting there like that! I connected to itunes and it did restore from a backup but it is a major inconvenience. I am also searching for answers, but better back-up regularly!

Problem solved!! I finally managed to pair the SE HCB-100 car kit speakerphone with the 3GS. I surfed the SE web site and it mentioned resetting the speakerphone. Tried it on 'one color ID' but it didn't work so I did it on all 'color IDs' and left it on reset mode when it 'accidentally' was picked up by my 3GS while searching!!! Found 'headset' and then recognised it as HCB-100. One happy guy for the holidays!!!

IPhone applications no longer work

I have had my iPhone for over a year and never had the troubles I am having now. I have installed dozens of apps and have the same update problem as all of you in this discussion. Now, most of my apps will not work at all! The past week, I have had apps crash and the iPhone would go back to the home screen. A reboot, by holding down the power button until asked to turn off the iPhone would usually solve this, but now, after several reboots, none of the apps are working now. On top of this, yesterday, I was stuck in the Phone app. I could select a contact and view a map of the address, but I could never get back to the home screen or select any other app. What was even worse was the fact that I could not reboot no matter how long I held down the power button. I had to hold both the power and home buttons which did reboot, but I lost all my music and videos. I am not looking forward to going through the entire process of installing everything again! Web apps still work fine as well as all of the Apple apps, but none of the free or purchased apps from the App Store work now. I think I'll try deleting all apps off the phone and from my Mobile Applications folder except for the $20 worth of paid apps that I have and start from scratch. If that does not work, I'll try a complete Restore which is a last resort since that involves hours of resetting preferences, app locations, etc.. By the way, what is with the hour long iPhone backup when synching through iTunes. Is this a bug in the new version of iTunes? I do not recall long backups before the iTunes update. I hope we get iTunes 7.7.2 and iPhone 2.0.1 soon. I hate to say this, but I miss the old reliable and bug-free iPhone version 1.1.4!!! Any insight from those of you reading this would be much appreciated.

Update from my original posting: I downloaded a free app from the iPhone, rebooted and everything is back in good working order, even the videos and music. I have over 80 apps and everything seems to work now except eReader which forced a reboot. I'm avoiding that app now and do not plan to download anything more or sync with iTunes again until Apple provides an update. I tried the same trick yesterday without success. What was different? I was on the Edge network yesterday and on my own WiFi network today. Seems hit and miss, but at least I did not go through the whole clean wipe process. I did not need to reinstall the videos or music. It seems these were always there on the iPhone, but not available. Since I had to type in my password in order to download the free app to the iPhone, it looks like there must be a bug in the software regarding authorization. Be sure you try this trick a few times before a clean wipe which will take hours of your time. I plan to wait a few days before marking this thread as "Answered" since others have had the same problem return.

It's good to know. The Apple instructions for loading iCloud on a PC just seem to have either overlooked or hidden this limit. The larger problem is that it partially works: partially and erratically. So clean-up is great fun.
