Iphone 3gs not found after 3.1.3 installation

I've recently upgrade my Iphone 3gs software to 3.1.3 version. Till then my pc can't find my iphone, so I can download my pics to the pc, even if my Itunes recognizes it. I've checked out all the possible instructions that exist in Apple Support (checked with msconfig, for Apple Device, reinstall Itunes etc)Please help!

I have just had this one replaced under my apple care agreement, it was working fine until a couple of days ago. its works fine in itunes, but not in windows explorer anymore. I did take some new photos / videos recently so will try and email them to myself before deleting and retrying as it says in the link.

IPhoto '09, iPhone 3GS not synching after 8.1.1 install

Hi all,
I've posted something similar before, but I still have no solution. When I go to synch my iPhone 3GS in iTunes, it does not recognize that there is any albums from iPhoto at all (see photo below). In fact, the only option is for me to synch my entire iPhoto library which I cannot do due to size; an error -50 shows up as the warning for this. I had the ability before when it was 8.1, however, for several months now I have been unable to upload an iPhoto album to my iPhone. Please, any solutions or work arounds? I've already attempted emptying my cache, repairing permissions, building a new library, resetting my iPhone, etc., but all to no avail. Is this possibly a bug? If so, is there ANY word from Apple as to a future fix? Now that I've reset my phone, I have no albums on it and I can't even remove the photos that I've taken with the phone's camera - they're stuck on the phone.

Very happy to have you helping me once again.
In regards to seeing the library in other apps, yes. I can see them and access them in iMovie, etc.
I've had this only once before in an older version of iTunes about two updates ago. Once the update (the one prior to this current one) came in, I was able to place whichever photo or album I wanted onto the phone and iPod Touch. Now it has occurred again.

TS1538 Iphone 3GS not working after IOS6 upgrade. Itunes not recognising Iphone anymore

When I plugged my 3GS into Itunes I was advised of IOS6 upgrade, I clicked and done said, the upgrade comenced. Hiowever, after a short while I got an error message saying "an unknown arror has accured" my Iphone will now only show the usb to Itunes screen indicating I need to do a restore. However, my phone is no longer recognised by Itunes or my PC. I've tried all the usual to reset the phone but no good. Is there a way to completely reset it back to factory default without using Itunes?

Did you get an error message when upgrading? If so, what was it?
Please also say what you mean by "not working". Is it displaying an error? Is it not connecting to a network? Does it connect to WiFi but not a data network? Was it hacked or jailbroken before updating?

I have trusted this computer on phone, I have uninstalled and reinstalled several times, I have also checked device management set up and restarted that. Need to back up phone ASAP. Have not yet been able to update iphone to 8 due to this issue if that helps with troubleshooting suggestions.

same goes for me.. and how can i transfer my music to my iphone? with the previous version of itunes i just have to copy and paste or drag and drop it to my device's music library. but now, i cant and i can't even sync my phone. i tried going to file>device>sync but it won't sync.

yes there is a sign on the top of the screen that shows phone is LOCKED....may be that is why the phone didn't recognizing the sim...i think first i need to unlock it again then hopefully phone wil start working again ..but i dont know HOW TO UNLOCK ???...need help from u guys with this .

I have exactly the same issue as described above : I installed the update 5.1.1 on my iphone 3GS and since then, I can not turn it on anymore. In Itunes, I get an error 37 when I am doing a restauration and it stops.
This error has nothing to do with firewall : I tried to restore the phone on several computers, including in an Apple reseller and it did not work anywhere.
I spent several hours on phone with the hotline from Apple which arrived to the conclusion that it is a hardware issue, but the phone was working perfectly fine until I installed this update!

I have iphone3gs just upgraded to iOS5 just now.
So far i am not experiencing any slow down because of the new iOS.. Rather i feel like its slightly faster than the previous version (4.3.5)..
One of the first thing i want to try was the location based reminders.. After upgrade i coudn't find the option, and went trough the user manual to find out that it is not available for 3gs..:(

No, it doesn't have to be a software issue. If it were, I would expect the millions of other iPhone users, specifically 3GS users running iOS 4 to be experiencing the same problem. They simply are not experiencing the same issue.

That would tend to indicate a hardware or network issue, most likely hardware. Have you ruled out the SIM card by replacing it?

Did you try using the device for a day or say as "new" before restoring your backup? It's very likely that the issue is simply a corrupted setting in your backup.

Without more information, I have to say it sounds like the phone you have was not legitimately unlocked, but had been hacked. Updating iOS will re-lock it to the original carrier.
ONLY the carrier it is locked to can authorize unlocking it.
Where did you get the phone?
