Iphone 3gs not recognized by iTunes 10.3.1, Windows 7 64bit

Iphone 3gs, 4.3.2
iTunes 10.3.1
Windows 7, 64-bit
Ever since iTunes updated I am unable to sync my iphone 3gs.  I have tried the following steps:
-Uninstalling all iTunes and related software (per apple support steps), restarting, reinstalling all itunes software.  Did not work.
-Trying several different USB cables, did not work.
-Tried all USB ports on my computer, did not work.
-Restarting phone/computer, did not work.
-Turning off antivirus software (Avast) and firewall (ZoneAlarm), did not work.
I tried syncing with my friends computer (iTunes 10.3.1 and Windows Vista), and it worked!  Unfortunately none of my music is on that computer.
Next, I came across an article and tried the advice listed (install ifunbox on pc, delete itunes.db and itunes.cdb files on Iphone).  This allowed my iphone to be recognized by iTunes.  It began to sync, and gave me the following error: Unable to sync because the disk is not available.
I unplugged the phone and plugged it back in, it began to sync again.  This time it went through all of the aps succesfully and got about halfway throught the music portion, and then iTunes froze.  I restarted both systems and this happened the last 5 or 6 times...iTunes freezes during the music sync portion.
One other interesting note...in iTunes, the space claim bar (colored bar on bottom of sync screen) shows that there should be about 5 GB of music on my iphone, however the ipod app on the iphone shows no music.
Ughh sorry for the long post I am so frustrated right now.

Nope, haven't been able to fix it.  I was able to get some songs to sync by 'manually managing songs' however the songs were all corrupt.  They either wouldn't play, or they would start in the middle of the song, and the beginning of the song would somehow be spliced in to the middle of the song!
So frustrating.  I can't get apps to sync either.
At this point I am not even going to try syncing my phone until a new iOS or iTunes comes out.
For now I have resorted to jaibreaking so that I can at least have a little fun with it

  • IPhone 3GS not recognized in itunes and xcode on imac i7

I've got an issue where my iphone 3GS is no longer recognized by my iMac i7 in either itunes or xcode. Iphoto does see my iphone. If I hook it up to my macbook it works fine. Is anybody aware of something strange as far as imac i7 and iphone is concerned. Strangely enough it did work about two weeks ago.
    Help

You should have received a message saying your phone was detected in recovery mode and needed to be restored when you connected it to iTunes.
Try putting it in DFU mode to restore it, as explained here: http://www.iclarified.com/entry/index.php?enid=1034.

  • IPhone 3GS not recognized by iTunes on Mac

I have not been able to synch my phone since upgrading to most current version of iTunes. I have followed the instructions from apple help on how to uninstall and reinstall iTunes. I have done that twice now. Didn't work. I have also reset my phone per instructions on apple help. Didn't work. USB ports are fine as iPhone will at least charge while being plugged into either of them.
    What should I try next?
    Thanks

For the past few days i have been unable to sync.  When opening my itunes it will not recognize it as even a device.  I uninstalled and reinstalled already.  Check my cables, my iphone charges on all ports and i am able to access my pictures in my computer.  I checked the dev man too and that's all working fine.  I only link my contact/email/calendar with my iphone, not sure what the issue is!

  • IPhone 5 not recognized by iTunes 12

    Hello all,
I have an iPhone 5, I'm running iTunes 12.0.1.26 and Yosemite (OS X 10.10.1). Over the last few days, I've noticed that my iPhone is not recognized by iTunes or even Yosemite itself. I have already tried everything in this doc: iOS: Device not recognized in iTunes for OS X - Apple Support, to no avail. I've been combing the communities and Google to no avail. Does this mean I need to try a manual restore on the phone? Any other solutions?
    Thanks

  • 6th gen ipod nano not recognized by itunes on my PC (Windows 7). tried everything to fix, but still not working... please help

I have a 6th gen ipod nano that is not recognized by itunes on my PC (Windows 7). I get an error that it 'could not be identified properly'. I have tried all tips on the apple site to correct the problem, including unistalling and reinstalling itunes twice. Nothing works. Has anyone tried something that worked that is not part of the Apple support page (http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3218)? Thank you in advance for any help!

I have spent 3 days messing with my pc and have made no real progress.

I purchased 10.6.3 and since upgraded to 10.6.8. Now my iPhone 4s is not recognized in iTunes (10.6.1). I did all the suggested troubleshooting. • IPhone is not recognized by iTunes

iPhone 5, had nothing but problems with this Phone, something i never had when i had a wackberry. Firstly the lock button broke, now the phone wont sync and crashes every couple hours unexplainably which is excellent when im typing an email.
The 3rd problem now, after my second phone replacement the phone will not sync all of sudden which is no supprise as to be honest this has a worse repuation than blackberry at the moment, the iPhone 6 will have to be improved on this as it is quite frankly annoying that i should spend £500+ on somthing that performes like its £200....
Back to the sync problem, all of a sudden unexplainably my iPhone 5 will no sync plugged it in i have reinstalled iTunes and still isnt working.... Please no stupid answers like "please check the wire" as i have used my other iPhone 5 cable and my other iPhone 5  which also is now not syncing, so its either a phone fault or a itunes fault.
    suggestions, thanks.

Well, you do not mention in the thread what you say in the subject, not recognized by iTunes. So, if I understand correctly, you have an iPhone 5, the lock button broke, the phone won't sync, and it crashes every couple of hours.
Well, what troubleshooting have you tried. I don't want to waste either of our time by typing things you have already done, but my first suggestion would be to take the device to Apple to have it replaced since the lock button or sleep/wakd button is necessary to do much of the user troubleshooting, and also to put the device into recovery and DFU mode. Without it, it is very difficult to do a lot of things.
You also do not mention what computer OS you are using, and then your edit says you removed and reinstalled iTunes. There is a specific way to do that and not doing it correctly can just compound problems.
