Iphone 3gs (o2 monthly) start up problems - only shows emergency calls.
I've just got my iphone 3gs (o2 monthly), put the new sim in but the phone will only let me make emergency calls. I cannot see how/where/if I need to activate it. Help please!
Your phone was previously hacked to get it to work on a carrier other than the one it was locked to. Restoring it restored the carrier lock. Only the carrier it is locked to can authorize an unlock. Not all carriers will do this. You will have to find out who it is locked to and contact them.

Ask the Verizon store to exchange your iPhone for a different iPhone 4.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. The phone wasn't in as good a condition as I expected from the advert on Amazon and am concerned that I have been sold a faulty phone. I've got a 4gs phone and can work that without any problems

i bought a iphone 3gs 4 months ago had a problem with display service centre replaced me with the phone when i checked the settings of the phone in cellular usage under call time the lifetime usage was 3 days and 18 hours.what sholud be done ?

IPhone 3GS won't start at all...please help
My iPhone 3GS won't start at all, it only shows the apple logo untill the battery runs out and it keeps on doing that. It happened after I erased all contents & settings. I tried pressing home button & power button for 15 seconds too, it didn't work. Any other ideas?
while turned off, connect that to the wall charger, it should start normally
after few minutes.
if it dont start then put your phone in dfu mode and connect to itunes for
a restore. for dfu mode search google. -
anyone come across error 11 while trying to synch or update an IPhone 3GS that previously had not problems synching? Have reinstalled ITunes but to no avail...?
Seems that way. I think I am going to have to give in and spend hours on the phone with Apple support. I don't want to, but I am at a loss. I will share any discoveries...

Then you should have iMessage. Go to Settings > Messages to turn it on and set your Receive At address. Note that iMessage uses the Messages app... standard texts are gree, iMessages are blue.

Can I restore back to IOS 5.1?It sounds like you have a hacked/unofficially unlocked iphone. When you update, it will indeed lock it back, as it should.
The ONLY place that can legitimately unlock an iphone is the carrier to which they are locked and no U.S. carrier does this. -

thanx for the sheet. i tried to restore it and place it into recovery mode. but my iphone does not show any reaction at all. itunes can not connect the iphone, due to error 0xE8000084, du you have any idea? i will now try to charge it during more hours. if this doesn't help, i will bring it to an apple store. I assume that i'll need a new battery.

iCloud only give so much space for free storage, then if you exceed the limit of 5gb you have to pay for additional storage. -
I did a recovery of my iphone4. After extracting, recovery and verifying completing, my iphone restarted. But still i can only see the picture with iTunes and USB port in the iphone 4. Only the emergency call is allowed.
After recovery and re-start of my iphone4 the itunes doesn't detect my phone. What should i do nowDFU Mode and restore again, if it doesn't work, well then...I suggest you try using a custom firmware maker (sn0wbreeze), NOT for the jailbreak, just to try and fix your phone.

Did you connect your iPhone to the computer and sync it with iTunes? You will need the internet as well as Apple will unlock your iPhone over the internet via iTunes. Let us know if this helps.
