Iphone 3Gs high temperature and low batterie performance

This is my first question here, so I'm sorry if I doing something wrong.
About a week ago my iPhone 3Gs is demonstrating very high temperature, at any location (inside my pocket, over my desk e etc...) and situation (it happens even in airplane mode), not enough to a overheat warning dough. And his battery dies in about 1 hour, no matter what I do. I've done a recovery and its came back to normal for 2 days, but after that the heat and battery problem has returned.
Could any body help me?

Hot phone and battery drain, cause of both together, is some hardware defect as a micro short-circuit (the phone dropped in water, as example) or an app who have a bug who let it eat all the energy (keep on localization services, as example).
Let the phone hard reboot, too, to remove any crazy process left in.
If you still have the issue with nothing running on (please make sure really nothing is on, neither background apps or itunes songs or anything else), most likely is hardware defect and you need service, as pointed above.

Depuis quelques jours, mon iPhone 3GS, sous iOS 5.0.1 s'éteint tout seul, et ne reçoit ni sms ni appel alors que le signal réseau est bon. L'iPhone reboot tout seul. Je suis allé dans un Apple Store, on a fait un redémarrage en mode DFU, rien à faire. Apres avoir regarder beaucoups de forums et lu des centaines de pages, j'ai pu voir que le probleme ne viens pas de la batterie ni des applications et pas non plus de l'antenne ou des problemes de receptions reseau. Il apparaitrait que le probleme soit purement logiciel. J'ai lu quelques temoignages disant que apple etait au courant de ce probleme tres largement connu des utilisateur de 3GS puisqu'un operateur apple as, lui meme, confirmé la mise au courant des services techniques d'Apple de ce probleme et cela depuis IOS 4 ! Visiblement ce probleme apparait depuis IOS 4. J'ai eu ce probleme sur IOS 4 mais apres une mise a jour le probleme s'est reglé de lui meme mais il est revenu depuis la mise a jour IOS 5.1.1. J'ai pour ma part une hypothese. Ne voyant pas de correction de ce bug qui dure depuis un certain temps maintenant , ne serais-ce pas la une volonté d'apple que de ne pas resoudre ce probleme ? Je m'explique : Aujourd'hui on sait que les produits hi-tech sont destinés a vivre peu de temps. Pas pour causes materielles mais simplement parceque les fabriquants implementent directement des programme permettant aux materiels de se degrader logiciellement afin d'entretenir un renouvellement des materiels des clients. Alors la question se pose, ce probleme ne serait il finalement pas marketing ? A y reflechir Apple a toujours concu de tres bons produits et excelle dans la programation de ses produits. Alors pensez vous vraiment qu'elle mettrait autant de temps a regler un tel probleme avec l'armee de developpeur dont elle dispose ? j'en doute..... Pour ma part je vais passer au 4S ce qui regleras le probleme mais contraint et forcé.

So recently, I've updated my iphone 3gs to ios 6.1.3. Today, it worked fine the whole entire day, but as I was using it, it shut down. It didn't run out of batteries, because when I was using it, it was at 43%. I tried plugging it into my wall adapter, & the red charging sign would come up, then the apple logo appears, but after a few seconds, it shuts off again. It goes though an endless loop, & eventually it would flash a dark screen, & a lightened dark screen, Is there a solution to this? My iphone is not jailbroken, btw.

Yeah usually it takes longer to charge via your computer. So that is normal. If your computer is not regonizing it then you need to put your iphone into DFU mode. Try this:
Plug your phone into your computer.
1. Hold down both sleep and the hombutton for 10 seconds
2. After 10 seconds release the sleep button BUT keep the home button pressed down for another 5 seconds.
You shouldnt see anything on the screen, but it should then pop up in your itunes.

This calibrates the battery indicator, not the battery. There is no battery calibration with a lithium-ion or lithium based battery.

I'm not sure why Apple includes charging the battery to 100% and then completely running it down as one charge cycle, which is not the definition of a full charge and discharge cycle with a lithium-ion or lithium based battery. A full charge and discharge cycle can include running the battery from 100% to 50% followed by fully charging the battery and repeating this the next day.

Iphone 3Gs discharging

Hello i am using iphone 3Gs everything has been fine untill now because it discharges way faster than it supposed to. Sometimes i can not call it discharging because there is still 50% battery left and it just turns off and i have to wait with charger plugged in so it turns on again. Sometimes it's very fast if I take charger with myself and i plug it in very fast after it discharged it takes like 1 minute and iphone is on again with 50% battery left or so. Sometimes for example this time i am waiting for over 1 day and all i see is apple logo. This thing happend few months ago so i realised that when it is fully discharged its easier to turn it on because if apple logo on black screen is shown there is probably no chance to turn in on again unless wait till it is gone and it takes quiet a while. What i mean is iphone is not discharged but all the sympthoms are discharged iphone, actually it would be way better if it discharges for real so i can turn it on again fast, but now when there are half battery left i can't do that its annoying. Also my turn off/on button is broke now. Sorry for all the mistakes, and i am glad someone will help me

Most likely, the battery has reached the end of its useful life and needs to be replaced by Apple or an Apple authorized service provider.

Why would my iPhone 3GS die with 30% battery shown on screen?

Hi there!
It's been a couple of weeks since my iPhone 3GS started switching off abruptly (not even showing the AJAX roulette that indicates it is switching off) while the battery indicator was showing a percentage close to 20-30%.
Right after that, I try to switch it back on, and then Apple logo on screen but after several seconds the iPhone goes off again, abruptly.
In one occasion, the Mail app was open and downloading/sending mail and right after pluging in the cable to charge it and switch it back on, it created some corrupted blank/empty emails where there should not be.
I know there are some rules we have to follow with today's gadget batteries and I tried to charge it fully and discharge it completely with several cycles, but no improvement whatsoever (only one day I got to 3%, but the problem started again right after that). The switching off during this time was never controlled by the iPhone, like a timed closing, but direct switch off and all not saved data lost, kind of a hard reset.
Is this a general problem many people would be having now with iOS4? Is my battery deffective?
Any help would be very much appreciated. I really love my iPhone, and this is becoming disappointing.

For how long does the logo remain static..? If it's for up to 3-4 minutes then I'd say it's okay (albeit it is a long time) but if it's 5-10 minutes or more then okay there's a fault of some kind I guess.
I went through a phase where my 3GS would restart and seemingly get stuck at the Apple logo, for what seemed forever. Killing the phone and forcing it to restart would see it restart a lot quicker. Odd though that if I'd left it alone then after 3-4 mins it would start on its own.

Sinon, il est vrai que l'iPhone 4 a rencontré et rencontre encore des problèmes de connexion dus au fait qu'en plaçant la main ou un doigt sur le petit joint en silicone noir situé entre la petite partie en alu qui cercle l'iPhone par le bas et celle, plus grande, qui le ceinture par le haut, l'utilisateur créé un court-circuit qui empêche la réception des ondes. En fait, il s'agit ni plus ni moins que d'un parasitage, encouragé par le fait que la peau humaine est conductrice... d'électricité et autres ondes. Le mieux est donc, soit de tenir son iPhone 4 par un autre endroit (pas toujours facile), soit de l'équiper de ce qu'on appelle un "bumper" (on en trouve à la FNAC pour 10 à 20 euros, selon le modèle), qui isolera l'antenne externe du contact de la peau.

j'ai synchronise mon iphone avec ma sauvegarde avant restauration...mais tjs pas de num de tel ds mes contacts???

Il te faut refaire une restauration en choisissant l'option "Restaurer comme nouveau téléphone" (ou quelque chose du genre), attendre que la restauration soit terminée, puis refaire une restauration à partir de ta sauvegarde. Cela devrait régler ton problème, à condition que tu aies bien coché toutes les cases dans le menu Général de ton iPhone dans iTunes... Sinon, ne seront restaurés que les items que tu avais cochés (bookmarks, photos, applications, etc...).
