Iphone 3gs replaced today with new one, clicked restore and problems!!!

hi please can you help!?
got a new iphone today (as the old one had a faulty battery)
plugged into itunes, then clicked restore and it wouldnt accept my old back up as the new phone didnt have the latest software on it!
so i clicked for it to update my new phone but now i cant find my old backup which has all my contacts and photos etc !!
how can i get my old backup back?? it doesnt show when i click to sync

fixed!
updated the new iphone to 4.2 then it gave me the option to choose my other old back up too

I go to sync my Iphone 3Gs (IOS 5) with iTunes on my pc and is is stuck on step 8 "waiting to copy items" it has been like this for over an hour.

If you are stuck at the blue screen then you can try booting into safe mode (hold shift during boot) and then run disk repair. If that still doesn't fix it then you might have to reinstall OS X. What version of OS X are you running?

Hi, i have just recently replaced my ipod mini with an ipod video. Do i need to re-install itunes with the new ipod or can i just plug in the new ipod and transfer all of my songs onto it?

No, the only items that can be replaced by you are RAM sticks and the hard drive, all other items are motherboard soldered components and cannot be touched by the user.

How do I remove one failing hard drive from raid set and replace with new one

Last Friday apparently one of my raid drives started failing.
As I mentioned on this forum I started getting continous beeping.
I was finally able to get the raid working at a degraded level. I ordered a replacement hard drive which is arriving today.
(In the meantime I made twice daily backups of my work.....)
Below was the message I got from the browser based raid software:

At one point when I did the checked the browser interface I saw the message Failed and Degraded
As I said, I was able to work over the weekend on the degraded system.
This morning I got the beeping again and did the rescue and now I am running a "full raid" without the notice that one raid was "Free".
In any case, the new hard drive is arriving today.
What steps should I take to incorporate the new drive into the raid system.
I have one OS drive
and 4 tb raid drives.   One needs to be replaced with the new one that I am getting today.

Please tell me how to read the serial number from an individual drive rather easily, without un-installing them:
If you select the proper drive to change out, you only need to remove one drive and look at its serial number...
Step 1: Identify bad drive serial number using Areca's tools
Step 2: Turn off the computer
Step 3: Remove what you think is the bad drive based on following your numbered cable method, marked hot-swap bays, whatever
Step 4: Verify that the serial number matches the "bad drive" serial number from step 1; if it does great, proceed; if it does not match, go back to step 3
Step 5: Change out the CORRECT drive - that's the bottom line for this whole procedure

You should be able to sync your 3GS to your computer and make a backup. Then connect your iPhone 4S and restore from a backup. This should effectively move all your data to your new device. Report back if you have any problems.

This means the iPhone was hacked to be unlocked. The 3GS was not sold in the US as officially unlocked.
Restoring an iPhone with iTunes that was hacked to be unlocked or installing a firmware update on an iPhone that was hacked to be unlocked re-locks the iPhone to the carrier the iPhone was sold as carrier locked when new. In this case, re-locked with ATT.

Replace playing video with new one in osmf player

I have a problem with loading new video in osmf player. First video is loaded from the emmbed code, and I use ProxyElement to comunicate with MediaLEment and to load my plugin. But after some actions in my plugin I need to load another video in the Player. By changing the DisplayedObject from the proxiedElement I am loading the new video but the old video from emmbed code is still runing on the back. Does anyone know how to remove mediaElement created by the player or to replace with new one, ot at least to disable that video from playing. I tried with everything and it doesn't work.

you can change into new Data Source.
From new Data Source you can load data into the old ods.
but if you want to kepp the old records as it is, then don't delete data in the ods.

Apple has an out of warranty replacement program, the cost in the US is $199. I don't know if any original iPhones are still available under this program(remember, that phone was discontinued sometime ago), but even if they were, why would you spend $200 on a discontinued phone?
