IPhone 3GS signal drop and late texts.
My IPhone 3GS seems to have random signal loss, in places where it has previously had good signal. I have noticed that there is no pattern to where I lose signal, but it is reletivley frequent.
My iphone also sometimes does not recieve texts sent to me for a couple of hours after they were sent. It does not always happen, but I can have as many as five texts come through hours late.
If anyone is having similar problems and/or has found a solution for this, any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
Best advice is to take it to an Apple store: But is there one in Kuwait?

I got the iphone 3GS I just upgraded it 2 weeks ago to ios5. It's been giving me trouble since then. It's ok for a few days after that it starts to restart like every 3 mintutes. I can't make any calls or send text messages during this. I have restored it 1 week ago. Everything was fine but after a few days again it started the same thing. I am now restoring again and deleted my copy of ios5 on my computer. I hope they release an update for it. I called Apple about it they said they have got alot of complaints about it. I hope they release a patch for it. It seems to be something to do with the charging system. It acts up when i turn it off for the night to charge it. I kept it on for the last 2 days and it was fine, today I ran out of battery life. I plugged the phone in and the restarts started again.Check for debris in the receiver, use a stiff brush and give it a lil clean. Also, if you have a case on your iphone, try removing it. Any case that comes over the top of the iphone and gets any where near the receiver can cause issues with sound and the proximity detector. Even if you don't think it covers the receiver, still try removing it and test... 8 times out of 10, this is the issue.

The phone is physically intact, but you can see the LCD is cracked behond the glass. I have tried plugging it in, tried putting it on the charger, and resetting it using the off and home buttons, bit response. I don't need the phone to work, but I do need to be bale to back it up in order to restore to the new phone. Is there any way to extract the data or back up the hard drive without repairing the phone? Just curious what my options are before I spend cash trying to fix the phone and find out there was another way to get the data. Any thoughts here or should a good repair shop being able to create a backup somehow?
Im not going to be much help because I don't know of anything else to besides take it somewhere that fixes electronics and see if they can get it off some how maybe if you take it to an apple store they can do something to get your information.

I dropped my iphone 3gs in water and grabbed it immediately out. It gave me a charger not supported sign every minute or two. I decided to turn it off for the night and the next morning it worked fine and only the bottom sensor was triggered. Why does it still work and how long will it last?
Water in itself will not kill electronic components if you let it dry out. Your first reaction to turn it off was a good one but you could have waited even longer.
It also depends what's on your water that will stay after the water itself had dried; like salt. Anything that iseither acid or conductor left on the circuit board will reduce the life of the board. Given said this, no one could state how long your iPhone will work since no one will know for sure where the water had time to infiltrate before you removed your device and no one what's may left there.
Consider yourself lucky. I don't understand however what you mean by a sensor triggered. -
Phone signal drops and says 'searching...' no idea what to do
Half way through calls or after calls the phone signal drops and i can't get it back unless i switch on and off numerous times. THis has been gong on to a greater or lesser degree since I got the phone a year ago but has got much worse recently.
i have tried resetting all settings, as per the o2 advice. They have told me to go to the apple store but I am not hopeful that they will help and as it is a long way I don't want a wasted journey. I have swapped sims/ phones with my partner who has a 3g iphone and he doesnt have the same problem so it is not related to where i am geographically or my sim. any ideas?I have the same problem after I have update my iPhone 3G to iOS 4.1.
Immediately after the update my simcard was demagnetized (it was unusable). So I had to buy a new sim card but after a couple of day more times a day the sigal drops down and I have to switch off/on.
My iphone has never had any problems untill the update.

If you've been using your phone as recommended, you've been syncing your data to your computer frequently, and importing any photos taken by the iPhone to your computer (or using photostream). If you havent' been doing this, then you've no one to blame for any data loss and any phone, which can be damaged, dropped, stolen or otherwixe become inoperable was NEVER meant to be a storage device.
As far as your battery is concern, is is NOT normal for the battery to "explode" after a year. Contact an authorized Apple service provider or Apple itself to see what your replacement options are. -
iphone 3gs is dead and not responding for DFU restore also. getting errors like 1600,1601 etc., any help?
Mikey, I have the exact same problem. Dropped my 3gs on Thanksgiving, phone was not responsive, plugged into the wall charger, went to grey iPhone restore screen, then said to connect to itunes. So I plugged it into itunes but itunes wont recognize it nor will my computer. I searched the internet for hours with no success. I tried to change USB ports and cords, tired removing the SIM card, reinstalled itunes, everything. When I put it in DFU mode itunes recognizes an iphone in recovery mode, so I click restore and update, then I get error 1602 every time. My iPhone also loses power when I unplug it from the wall. I do not know what to try next. You are the only person I have found with the same exact problem I have. I will update you if I find a way to get my phone working again and I hope you will do the same. I'm very frustrated

There are two places where vibrations can be set.
One is the Settings > Sounds
The other area is Settings > Notifications
If you have an app set to Alert, it may have a vibration set for it.

When you purchase content in the app store, you purchase a license to use the content. This license does not permit you or anyone else to resell or give this content away. The individual you purchased the phone from simply does not have the right to sell or give away any purchased content on the phone. You were deceived.

My iPhone 3Gs has frozen and I can't do anything except turn it off by hard boot. When I plug it in, I have the apple icon and that is all. It was at 43 percent battery life when it happened and my Twitter app was giving me problems. Thoughts?

Basic troubleshooting steps right out of the user guide are restart, reset, restore from backup, restore as new. If you've been through ALL the steps and you still have the problem, then you'll need to bring your phone to Apple for evaluation.
