IPhone 3GS SMS tones
Will I be able to change SMS tones with the new iPhone 3GS????
and changing it without doing anything non-apple to it. I just want to use my own mp3 tone.
I Recommend that Apple allows one to change the SMS message alerts (Audible, Vibrate, and visual).
I work at True Call International, who issues pagers to everyone. Recently the company I work for has implemented the company alert system to include SMS addresses of people who wish not to carry a pager and phone all the time.
However, until Apple addresses the SMS issue, I can't see the iPhone as an approved pager replacement device.
Does anyone know of any "Feedback or Suggestion" pages that will get to the great minds at Apple?

I am absolutely in LOVE with my iPhone. It is my life, literally. However, I am truly disappointed with Apple's ability to provide us with decent text tones. I was incredibly happy when they came out with the last update that gave us the new set of tones! I found them to be childish, especially for somebody who works in business. PLEASE come out with new SMS tones; ones that aren't childish that adults can actually play without being publicly embarassed. May I suggest allowing us to make our own, like EVERY OTHER DEVICE out there? At the very least, could we edit the iPhone ringtone presets to be SMS tones? I personally like the Duck ringtone, and if I could use a single "quack" as my SMS tone, I would be one happy camper.

i had to jailbreak my phone but,.......i got new sms tones but they wont work when someone actually messages me....only vibrates.....it ***** that apple comes up with cool phones but wont allow us to modify our own sms tones to suit....
i wont jailbreak my other iphone though for fear of losing sms tones sounds when someone messages.....

As a part of my Daily Reporting Activity; i have to send 35 SMS everyday. Can someone suggest me which software is suitable for my usage as it's tedious job to forward the same sms report 35 times. I am using IPhone 3GS -32 GB. I am using service of Vodafone, Mumbai. & when i first time sent 35 SMS (having habit of Nokia to send group SMS at the click of one button) my IPhone sent 35 MMS.

Hi everyone, I just got the new iOS5 update for my iPhone 3GS. I receive a message saying that "Your SMS mailbox is full. New messages cannot be recieved until you delete some messages." I deleted all of my messages but still could not receive texts after restoring and restarting my phone. Can anything be done to remedy this??? Thanks!
Apple is screwing the pooch on this one. Need to call in and be vocal.

Can't make calls or sms on iphone 3gs after iOs5 upgrade?
I upgraded to iOS5 on my iphone 3gs and I am having major problems connecting to the 3g network. I can't make or recieve calls or sms, or log on to the internet over the 3g network. wifi works fine, but that doesn't help with the calls or the sms, and i can't always be on wifi for my emails. the phone worked fine before the upgrade.
i've restored the entire phone as a new phone, i've gone in to the apple store and had my phone looked at, they say there's nothing wrong with the hardware.
i live in Canada and my carrier is Rogers - of course when I call them for help they say it must be the phone not their network. they'd rather i buy a new phone and sign another 3 year contract
the only thing that seems to help is restoring network settings. immediately after doing that I can make calls, send and receive sms, and use the internet over 3g. but it only fixes it temporarily... after about 15 mins I'm back to the same problem. can't make or receive call etc.
anyone else having this same problem?
anyone know of a solution?After 2 hours with Apple Support, which was great, we figured out the issue. 1-800-my-iphone. When I upgraded to iOS5 and started using the iCloud, I was unaware that my previous synching settings were still set to Yahoo.com where I had been sycning wirelessly in the past. So the Apple support tech showed me that I had multiple accounts in both Notes and Contacts. I had iPhone, iCloud, yahoo, Outlook accounts and my default settings on the iphone should have all been set to icloud. Syching was occuring, but not in icloud. It took a little manual conversion of some Notes and Contacts into the icloud folders in Outlook, but now everything works and I only display and use the iCloud accounts in Notes and Contacts. Apple realizes that this is an issue for those of us that were previously using Yahoo and equivalents for wireless synching and they provded my support free. Usually they charge $27. All is well.

I updated my iPhone 3GS on iOS 5.1 everything is ok but when I tap a message in notification area a SMS error comes "This URL wasn't loaded: sms:/open?groupid=1." and when i tap on messages app open and then close certainly... Please anyone helpe me......
Forgot to mention I live in Peru Southamerica, the cell provider is Claro (America Moviles).

How does one add a personal recorded M4R file to the ring tones in the UK system for iPhone 3GS.
I have tried all sorts of ways of adding my personal M4R file but can't find the place (within the UK versions of iTunes} to transfer this file so that I can select it as a ring tone.
I've tried also changing to the US version of iTunes and still can't find a way of doing it, although I have heard that it can be done.You should be able to just drop it into the library within iTunes.
