Iphone 3gs software 5.0, PLEASE HELP

I have downloaded the software, but when I actually update it on my 3gs it says "backing up iphone" and it loads about 1mm of green and then doesnt load anymore. I have tried everything!

Downgrading to a previous version of iOS is not supported.
Sounds like your iPhone was hacked/modified/jailbroken to work
with wireless carrier other than the one it was purchased from. The
update has relocked it to the original carrier. Contact the original
carrier to see if they offer unlocking and if you qualify - only the
carrier to which the iPhone is locked can unlock it.
What does it say when you look at Settings=>General=>Carrier?
Be advised that the previous modifications to change from original carrier
to your local Carrier may have rendered the iPhone unable to be
officially unlocked.

I'm having trouble with Viber.
A few days ago, I accidentally uninstalled it on my IPhone 4, and reinstalled it later on..
When I tried sending the activation code using the same cell phone number I had on Viber before It got uninstalled, I receive the code but when I try to put it in it keeps saying that I entered the wrong activation code, I click on the no code feature on the top right corner of Viber, it gives me a code, but when I put that code in it says the same thing ,that I have the wrong access code please try again, and so I researched on the internet and came up to this post, It said to uninstall viber and wait 24 hours to install it again, I waited 24hours and tried it again, but it STILL does the same thing. and... I even tried entering my other phone number, yet it does the same thing and shows me the same message that I entered the wrong access code....It is getting frustrating! May you please Help ME?! What can I do??

The problem is your phone was illegally unlocked and jailbroken. When you upgraded it took the unlock off and now it is locked to the original carrier it was locked to. You will not be able to unlock it now.

i expierenced issues with my iphone 3gs since iOS 4.1,my battery drain was terrible but after iOS 4.2 i thought it becomes better but no,after 2 weeks i observed what my battery is draining sometimes very fast-for example when i charge it yesterday from 0% to 100%,after one call my battery in my eyes decrease from 100% to 97% and this is not for first time.and when my battery goes from (for example 97 to 88%) it stays on 88 % all the day,please i want to use my phone normally,tell me what to do,i tried many times in iOS 4.1 restoring in iTunes but nothing helped,maybe to try to restore in iOS 4.2 ? any sugesstions will be apreciated,thank you !

I went to update my iphone 3gs. an error popped up froze my phone and now it says i must factory reset my phone.....i do not want to clear my phone! it will not even attempt to connect to itunes without the restore! PLEASE PLEASE HELP!!!

First, what on earth does paying 500.00 for a phone and thousands of dollars in other apple products have to do with anything?
Second, do you think any of us care about your idle threat to save your money and buy a non-Apple product?
Third, and what makes you seem the most "unsmart" is your last statement. We're not Apple here on this user to user technical support forum. We're users just like you! So your last statement is just so ridiculous.
It's always easier to place the blame for our own misfortunes on someone else, rather than take responsibility for our own action. As Dr. Al stated, you learned a lesson the hard way.

My IPhone 3GS shut off on me so I connected it to my wall charger once it turned on it stayed on the "connect to ITunes" logo so i dissconected it and it shut off...... I went and connected it to my PC with ITunes on but my phone wont even turn on, yet when i connect it to my wall charger it turns on but goes back to "Connect to ITunes" HELP ANYONE PLEASE!!!

IPhone 3GS as an iPod / please help

I have always used my iphone 3GS as an ipod touch and recently updated it and now it wants me to activate it and it won't work. I am so sad... I found where it suggest I put an active sim card in and that will activate it then I can remove the sim card and use it as an ipod but that doesn't work.
Is there any way to restore my iphone or reload the new ios5 on it?

so sorry but I tried that, I put my friends SIM card who currently has an iphone 3GS with Att and it didnt' do anything. It's almost like it's frozen.

Okay so a few hours ago I tripped and fell on some wooden stairs with my iphone in my pocket. Afterwords I tried to listen to some music and it wouldn't turn on, I tried resetting it and plugging it into a charger but that didn't help. It has no cracks or dents in it and its only two months old. Is there anything else I can try before calling up apple or bringing it into them? Thanks

Red dot on iphone 3GS voicemail icon. Please help!!

Having this little red dot on my phone/voicemail icon for a couple of days indicating that i have a voice message and it's annoying.
Anyone facing the same issue?
Any solutions to clear off the red dot?
I doesn't have voicemail service nor a voicemail box with my service provider.

I believe orientation lock is the icon you are seeing. You can check in the manual.

I am having difficulty in updating my iphone 3GS software from version 4.1 to version 5.1. I tried using my phone but cannot find the update software button even when I have gone through the right process by tapping SETTING, then GENERAL, yet could not find Update Software button. I mean the update Software button is not seen there.
I tried using itunes, yet no way. Each time I connect my iphone to my laptop itunes software comes up automatically and alerts me that a newer version of software for my iphone is available, It usually gives me the option of Download & Install or Download Only. Whichever of the option I click a message will always appear telling me that the iphone update server could not be contacted, then asking me to make sure that my network settings are correct and active or try again latter. Sometimes, when click on the Update button on my itune software. It will display an error has occured.
I have even tried to Restore iphone from itunes, yet the problem keep repeating itself.
Can anyone help me?

I saw your message. Below are the problems:
Whenever I connect my iphone 3GS to my PC through a USB. My itunes software comes up automatically.
1. After that a message appears from the itunes that states that 'itunes could not connect to the itunes store, an unknown error cccured (306).
2. After the above, an alert message comes up which states that A new iphone software version 5.1 is availlable for my iphone. It then states would you like to download it and update your iphone now? With the options buttons as Cancel or Download and Update or Download Only. Whenever I clicked on Download and Update or Download Only, the next message that comes up is that The iphone Software Update Server Could not be Contacted and suggest make sure your network setting are correct and active or try again later.
The above is the challenges I am facing now.
