Iphone 3gs stuck in a restore loop

I don't know if it's the fact that I updated my iphone 3gs to 6.1.3, but I've been having some major problems ever since. My iphone would shut off on me at 40% & when I plugged it into the wall adapter or my computer, it says it's charging, with the little lightning sign. I've restored it, and it worked for the first time. My iphone started working perfectly fine. Then I was using it, the battery went back to around 40 or 30% then shut off completely. I thought restoring it would do the trick, but it didn't. It would go through the whole process of restoring, then on itunes, a popup would appear, I forgot what it said, but it meant that the restore worked & now I just have to wait. wrong. I repeated restoring it for over 4 times, and every single time, the pop up would show up, but my iphone stays stuck on the charging logo with the lightning for hours. Help?

have u tried restoring in dfu mode?

  • IPhone 3GS stuck in infinite reboot loop

    Hi
Today my iPhone 3GS ran out of power, and i charged it via the wall plug. After it was turned on, it started reboot every couple of minutes, and has done this for hours now. I tried shutting it down and starting it again but that didn't help. It hasn't been jailbroken or anything like that. It runs iOS 5.0.1.
Any suggestions for what i can do to fix this problem?

    That doesn't fix it

  • 3GS Stuck in endless restore loop (Error 1002)

    Hello,
So I woke up yesterday to find my 3GS (with iOS4) was displaying the 'Connect to iTunes' message for no apparent reason. After connecting it to iTunes, a message popped up in iTunes saying I had to enter a password on the iPhone in order to access it, which I couldn't do as the Phone was showing the 'Connect to iTunes' message.
After looking through several Apple help articles I put the iPhone into recovery mode in order to try to restore it. However, every time the progress bar on the iPhone screen hangs just before finishing, and iTunes says there was an error ( *Error 1002* ). I have tried the restore numerous times now with the same results, and have tried all the solutions in this article: http://support.apple.com/kb/ts1275
At the moment I am left with an iPhone that I cannot use, I would be grateful for any suggestions.
    Thanks,
    Jack

Heh Jack did you ever get a response to this??
I'm getting the same problem now and there doesn't seem to be many people saying that it got sorted!!!
    Any advice appreciated.

  • IPhone 3GS stuck in recovery mode while updating to iOS 6.1

Hello there, I was updating my iPhone 3GS(New Bootrom) from iOS6.0 to iOS 6.1. While it was updating, iTunes suddenly ends up saying error and now my iPhone is stuck in recovery mode loop. I've tried DFU mode on my iPhone and try to kick it out by using TinyUmbrella but the computer doesn't reconize it. And when it was on recovery, iTunes doesn't reconize too, a window pops up and says i have to install 'Apple Mobile Device'. I've re-install and install iTunes a couple of times and nothing is working. Switching on and off the iPhone doesn't work too. Please, someone help me with this problem! I really do not know what to do! Please reply this As Soon As Possible!

Ok. I have spent the last 8 hours researching this problem and have the absolute 110% answer to everyone's problem with this issue.
Error 13 and 14 : Are checksum problems with the firmware image that is in the update package.
The update package is a .ipsw (IPod or IPhone SoftWare). This file is actually just a .zip renamed .ipsw.
The error is caused by a failure to download a crc-free version of the file. Not really sure why there are so many crc problems with the iphone updates, but Apple does not check the integrity of the update package before wiping your current version of IPhone software and that is why all IPhones that start an update with a bad update package end up in recovery mode. These errors are NOT related to the iTunes installation, antivirus software, or firewalls.
Recommendation : use a program like "Object Fix" (Freeware) to verify the integrity of the file prior to commencing with any new updates. You will have to keep trying to download it until you get a error free file. Once you have a CRC error free file this problem will go away. (I thought TCP/IP helped get rid of CRC errors.)
I had another problem and that was...
Error 1603 and 1604 : These are USB driver connectivity problems.
Recommendation : FULLY uninstall and re-install itunes software as stated in the Apple support documentation. Be sure to reboot between each step and these problems should clear themselves up. In addition, firewalls and anti-virus software may cause these errors as well.
Finally, shame on apple for not properly documenting their software so that end users do not have to decrypt their error messages with no true support to solve the issues. These are problems that enough people have had that there should be specific documentation on these problems.

  • My ipod nano 7th generation is stuck in a restore loop with a white screen. Now it won't turn on anymore. What to do?

My new Ipod Nano 7th generation is stuck in a restore loop. Here is what happened: I added music to it using the latest version of iTunes, the colored bar at the bottom of the summary tab in iTunes showed my that I added it and I disconnected it to listen to the music. As I turned it on, it told me that there is neither music nor pictures on it. So I connected it again to my computer and iTunes told me that I had to restore. Which I did following all the steps but it keep telling me that I need to restore it. After three times of restore it, I disconnected it from my PC and turned it off. Now it won't turn on anymore - even though the battery is fully charged - and when I connect it to iTunes, iTunes tell me "The iPod software updater could not be contacted. The server does not support this version of iTunes." Well, I just downloaded the newest version a couple of minutes ago from the apple website. My iPod stays black. What shall I do?

iphone 3gs stuck in itunes update mode

    Hello troffs,
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.
For more information on this, take a look at:
If you can't update or restore your iOS device
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1808
Turn off your device. If you can't turn it off, press and hold the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons at the same time and wait a few seconds for it to turn off.
Plug the device's USB cable into your computer only.
Hold down the device's Home button as you connect the USB cable to it.
When you see the Connect to iTunes screen, release the Home button. If you don't see this screen, try steps 1 through 3 one more time.
iTunes should open and display a message such as: "iTunes has detected an iPhone in recovery mode. You must restore this iPhone before it can be used with iTunes."
Use iTunes to restore your device.
    Best of luck,
    Mario

  • IPhone 3GS stuck and I cannot switch it off. Screen shows an USB plug connecting to iTunes.

My iPhone 3GS stuck and i cannot switch it off. Screen shows an USB plug connecting to iTunes.

this usually appears when your iphone is not registered correctly with apple/itunes so plug it in to your computer and try setting it up if it gives you the correct prompt. if not try to restore and sync. usually tis problem appears when your iphone has no sim card or is not registered correctly. in this case you need to contact your carrier and set up an account. if you are trying to use it without a service or sim card then unless you go through some sketchy program of hacking it it is worthless to you without a sim or service plan. i have the original iphone1 i got from a buddy of mine i used as an ipod before getting an iphone4 and if i took the sim out this message appears. if you do have a sim and a service plan than there might be a problem with the phone reading the sim card you you can go into your service provider's store and request a new sim to see if that works.
I am sorry if none of this is helpful for i have no other suggestions.

  • IPhone 3GS Stuck At Apple Logo.

I have an iPhone 3Gs that is stuck on the apple logo screen. Tried doing all kinds of restores and putting it into DFU mode but iTunes wont recognize it and will not even boot up. Just simply stuck at the apple logo screen until the phone dies. Any ideas?

If none of those work, use all of these:

This is what I posted to someone else having an update issue... Just for your information:
I having the same issue about the and iTunes says "The iPhone cannot be  restored at this time because the iPhone software update server could  not be contacted or is temporarily unavailable.". I've had the  iPhone  3GS since it came out. It was working fine until I just tried to  update  it. It has NEVER been hacked or jailbroken. WE AND A FEW OTHERS are  having  the same issue then it is more than likely that this is an  update issue.  I took mine to the Apple store and the tech tried to  update it and he came to the same problem and told me he couldn't  update it. My assumption is that we are not the only one's with this  issue and that if  there was a way to update it to the update before  this last one it  might be a solution. I don't know how to get the  previous update. Apple  probably is aware of the problem, and hasn't  come up with a solution yet. Or, enough people haven't complained yet.  The tech suggested that  there might be something wrong with the phone  itself, but that couldn't  be since it was working perfectly before I  updated it and others are  having the same issue. It is highly unlikely  that a lot of people are having the same hardware issue all of a  sudden at the same time. Apple/iTunes needs to fix this... and hopefully soon
Also:  I can update or restore my iPhone 5 and other iPhones so it is not an  issue with my firewall or other software on my computer. No one touches  my iPhone or my computer they are secure, locked all the time, and I  have no jailbreak software on my computer (Apple tried it and they are  clueless at the moment from what I can tell).

  • Need help plz my iphone is stuck in a reboot loop

my iphone so i can restore it i don't know what to do plz help

I am experiencing the same problem, and i have attempted NO jailbreak or other iphone hacked software. My screen will slowly fade to white, and then go into an endless reboot cycle, or just glow bright white til the battery dies. I have tried restoring with itunes via recovery, and i receive error (2003).
    (EDIT)
I successfully restored my iphone, and it worked GREAT! until i removed it from the cradle, and my screen jumped straight to apple logo, descending into the bottomless pit of reboot cycles.

  • HT4993 my iphone is stuck in a reboot loop how do i get out

my iphone is stuck in a eboot loop how do i get it out

Follow these steps and your iPhone should work fine.
         1. Hold the power and home button simotaniously (at the same time) for 10 seconds.
         2. Wait 5 seconds then reboot.
If the issue presists, do this.
1.Connect to iTunes via USB cable.
2.Hold power and home button for 10 seconds or until screen turns black, let go of the power button, but continue holding the home button for 5 seconds or until the emergency diagnostics screen (iTunes icon with USB cable) pops up.
         3. If done correctly you will see the screen above. Now, wait for iTunes to diagnose the phone, and if nessesary, restore your iPhone.
    I hope this helped you!

  • My iPod nano 3rd gen is stuck in a restore loop.

My iPod nano 3rd gen is stuck in a restore loop.  I have wiped it with Disc Utility and attempted to restore with iTunes, but there was no effect. I checked it in diagnostic mode against an identical pod and found no significant differences in the results, both checked out fine.  I know that this is not a windows driver issue since I use a mac.  In any case such an issue should have been resolved when I wiped the pod.  I have not attempted to load any music on it or sync my library, so a corrupted file seems unlikely as well. there is no water damage and the case is in excellent condition.  I have no idea whats wrong with it so any help or suggestions would be appreciated.

i've jail break Iphone 3GS. i tried to restore setting (erasing all data and media) without connecting to computer/itunes. When it starts it freezes by showing apple logo only. what is the solution. please help me out. Here i don't have iphone service center too.

Although not illegal, Apple discourages a user from modifying the iPhone OS in any manner, including "jailbreaking".  Apple feels so strongly about this that discussing methods to assist a user trying to either jailbreak or "unjailbreak" an iPhone are prohibited.
