IPhone 3GS stuck on start up.  Even after restore

Hi, hoping for a little help. Anything is appreciated.
Ok, Phone crashed earlier tonight so I hard booted it. After this, the phone wouldn't get past the loading screen.
So, after reading up on the best course of action, I checked iTunes on my PC could see the phone. It could. Next, I restored it. To which I got error code 2009. Lovely..
Well, I did a little more reading and the next suggestion was to try another machine. I jumped on my MAC, hooked up the phone (Which by now had no OS installed) and ran the restore. It worked!
Delighted at this point, I quickly realised the phoine was still not coming to life.
Even now, as I'm restoring it for the second time for confirmation of issues, I'm at a loss as to what to do next.
Any ideas anyone?
For anyone wondering, this phone is as original and has never been jailbroken. The screen has been replaced but I doubt this would cause an OS boot issue.

I had the same problem 2 days ago. It spontaneously decided to not boot.
Hard restart didn't fix it. I see you're in England, so don't know who you contact. But I finally called AT&T and had tech support do some sort of Hard reset of my service on their end. It fixed it right away.
No real explanation of what caused it. But again, it was on their end, not mine. Hope that helps your frustration.

  • IPhone 4S stuck in recovery mode even after restore

Yesterday my sister told me she had a problem with her iPhone.
She was on 5.1.0 and updated OTA to 5.1.1. When the update was done, her iPhone rebooted and displayed the 'connect to iTunes' screen. She gives it to me, I do what I can and after several restores the only thing that shows up after a restore is the 'connect to iTunes' screen. In iTunes, it says it's in recovery mode and needs restoring....again.

    any solutions?

This is Apple's troubleshooting for restore loop issues (from http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3694):
Restore loop (being prompted to restore again after a restore successfully completes): This issue is typically caused by out-of-date or incorrectly configured third-party security software. Please followTroubleshooting security software issues if USB troubleshooting does not resolve this issue.
You may want to disable any security software you may be running on your computer and try to restore it again.  If that doesn't work, try USB troubleshooting steps (also from http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3694):
Perform USB isolation troubleshooting, including trying a different USB port directly on the computer. See the advanced steps below for USB troubleshooting.
Put a USB 2.0 hub between the device and the computer.
    Try a different USB 30-pin dock-connector cable.
    Eliminate third-party security software conflicts.
There may be third-party software installed that modifies your default packet size in Windows by inserting one or more TcpWindowSize entries into your registry. Your default packet size being set incorrectly can cause this error. Contact the manufacturer of the software that installed the packet-size modification for assistance. Or, follow this article by Microsoft: How to reset Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) to reset the packet size back to the default for Windows.
Connect your computer directly to your Internet source, bypassing any routers, hubs, or switches. You may need to restart your computer and modem to get online.
Try to restore from another known-good computer and network.

  • Iphone 3gs stuck in recovery mode, will not restore or update error 36

As the title states, I have a 3gs stuck in recovery mode.  Sort of worked earlier today, been having trouble with the battery draining fast/not holding charge goes into recovery mode on its own at times.  Have been able to force it out of recovery in the past but now it is just showing a USB cable going into an iTunes logo.  I can't get it to restore/update and before it got stuck it would not update or restore either.  Before you ask, I have no idea what iOS I have, this **** thing didn't start messing up until I plugged it into my computer.

Update:  I have uninstalled and re-downloaded iTunes, Tried with a different computer, tried with a different iTunes account.  None of these did anything for me.  I have no idea what to do next, nearest apple store is more than an hour away.

  • Iphone 3GS keep loading in apple logo after restore to 4.3.5

    Hi all,
I have an problem in my iphone 3GS. It couldn't boot up to lockscreen and always stuck in apple logo but it able to sync to the itunes. I try many times in restoring to latest firmware 4.3.5 in DFU and recovery mode and also uses different PC, the problem still not resolved. Anyone can advise?

I would try forcing into recovery mode and then restoring again to see if this helps. If not then it would need to be serviced by repair or replacing the device which will not be covered under the warranty due to the liquid.

  • IPhone 3GS stuck in recovery mode unable to restore

    Hello,
My iPhone 3GS was running low in battery and then it went off on its own. Plugged into car charger, usually I would see the charging sign but curiously not this time. Unable to turn on the phone, it's all black. Got home and plug into the computer and it said that it's in recovery mode and it needed to be restored. Attempted to restore but kept on getting unable to restore due to error (21). Did a quick search and have done the followings; (updated all softwares, turned off computer, check USB wire, turned off firewall, created new user, used a different computer....) still unable to restore. screen would turn to white blank screen. Called Apple Support and they had me tried everything again and still nothing. Please help...

took it to Apple Store and they gave me a new one..

  • Ipod mini stuck in recovery mode, even after restoring

my ipod mini is stuck in recovery mode. I've tried putting it into disk mode and restoring the ipod but , as soon as it resets after restoring it shows it's still in recovery mode. Does anyone know how to fix this problem?

What happens if you try and do a low level reformat of the iPod using the tools provided by windows and the step-by-step guide on this page?
    http://www.methodshop.com/gadgets/ipodsupport/erase/
Another good troubleshooting step at this point might be to remove all other USB devices (minus the keyboard and mouse if applicable) and reboot your PC.
Try restoring it on another PC or Mac if necessary.

  • Iphone 3gs ios 6.1 stuck in boot loop even after restore

What happen was it froze so I did a hard rest after that it stayed on a boot loop. Done restored it several times stayed the same after I do a restore itunes does recognize the iphone but it stays on the Apple logo can anyone help

Something does not sound right with your story. An iPhone 3g is only capable of running iOS4.2.1 and not 6.1.6. Since the iPhone now appears to have relocked itself to the original carrier, it sounds like that iPhone is jailbroken to allow it to run a version of iOS that it not supposed to and to unlock illegal from the original carrier. Either get you details straight or we can't help you.

  • IPod Nano 5th Generation Stuck in Recovery Mode even after Restore.

    Hello,
I have an iPod Nano 5th generation (model number A1320) that I would like to completly restore to working condition.
Currently it is stuck in "recovery mode".
I have followed the steps given by Apple here on a Microsoft Windows system with the latest Apple iTunes software but after step 9 I am back to "recovery" mode where I am given the option of performing the restore process all over again.
How can I restore this iPod Nano?
    Thank you.

    Hello tmason101,
Thanks for the question. After reviewing your post, it sounds like you can't restore the iPhone. I would recommend that you read this article, it may be able to help the issue.

  • Ipod nano 4th gen stuck on apple logo even after restore

okay, i have an ipod nano 4th gen. it gets stuck on the boot logo, (apple logo) every time it tries to restart. i have rebooted, gone into the diagnostics, put it into disk mode, and even restored from there. the computer doesnt recognize the ipod unless in disk mode and no matter how many times i restore or reboot, it does the same thing every time. stuck. please help

Since you have the "exact" same problem, why don't you do any of the following:
If you have AppleCare and/or still under warranty, give them a call.  If not, take your iPod to your local Apple Store or AASP.  Let them properly diagnose the problem and provide you w/a repair estimate.
U.S. iPod and Mac technical support: 1-800-APL-CARE (1-800-275-2273)
Every iPod comes with complimentary, single-incident telephone technical support within 90 days of your iPod purchase.   If you also purchased AppleCare, then your warranty is extended for technical support and hardware coverage for two years from the original purchase date of your iPod.

  • IPhone 4 upgraded from iPhone 3GS but Apps did not synch after restore...

I have had every iPhone since the very first one - call me crazy... and each time a new one has come out, all I have needed to do is take it home, restore from last back up and voila - all good. This time, no so good - I took the new iPhone 4 home, plugged it in, restored from backup, then selected to synch my iPhone. Now, admittedly, I have 21.4 GB of music, about 4800 songs (which is why I bought the 32Gb phone, again) and it takes quite a while to restore and synch the phone. When the initial synch was complete, iTunes had only copied my music, movies, pics, etc, everything EXCEPT my APPS! So I spent about an hour organizing all my apps into folders and moving them around, then I synched it and all was good 4 days ago. Last night I went to synch my phone and received several errors stating that the phone could not synch and that some files were missing, so I restored from backup, again, and resynched, again, and this time, like last, all my apps were not installed, but only some of the folders were... Am I doing something wrong or is there a trick to get this to work... or maybe some of the apps I have need to be trashed?
    Thanks in Advance,

I need to ask, just in case, but are you certain you have enough room for the apps? It seems like you do, but you might have synced some videos or movies that prevent the apps from syncing.
You might have some corrupted Apps too. Don't synch any apps you don't need, and then try again. You're going to have to take some time to sort through it all.

  • NEW IPHONE 3GS DOES NOT START

I just got my new iphone 3gs yesterday and have not even had the time to have a nice look at it coz it just does not start.
When I put the phone to charge the apple logo appears and after that just the sign of USB connector pointing towards itunes (with the itunes logo) appears and phone stops. I had it charged for more than four hours but I don’t see the battery charging status icon anywhere.
When I press the ON switch on the top the same thing repeats itself meaning it gets stuck in the USB connector pointing towards itunes (with the itunes logo) sign. Totally confused and frustrated. Kindly assist. Lastly as i am new to the apple brand could anyone guide me towards the Software for the IPHONE 3GS i require to install on my desktop in order to sync, email etc.thanks for the advises in advance

Obviously it's telling you that you need to connect your iphone to your itunes to activate it, otherwise it won't work.
Firstly download itunes, under Downloads. then install then plug in your iphone, and follow the instructions to activate it. Then you should be set and start using the phone.

    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iPod fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
