IPhone 3GS to factory settings

Hello
I have iPhone 3GS purchased from Singapore while I live in india
I jailbroked my iPhone and now want back in factory settings
As suggested by different blogs I tried it by restoring using iTunes but that left iPhone useless until it is jailbroked again
Please suggest what should be done to bring it back to factory settings from india itself ?

i think the problem is to reset an iphone you really want to back it up first
but of course because its jail broken you cant/dont want to connect it to itunes
but normally go into general and reset it

Turn off iMessage, FaceTime & delete the iCloud account. Then: Settings>General>reset>Erase All Content & Settings. Then give it to your friend.
You need to FIRST turn off iMessage & FaceTime, or the device will still be associated with your Apple ID. DO NOT erase until you first do this.

It doesn't matter what it is in your backup that's causing the problem because you can not selectively restore things from your backup. It's all or nothing.
Set you phone up as a new device and start over.

On my iphone 3GS, I tap Settings, iCloud. The account is incorrect and light grey, which will not allow me to edit the account. Other problems stemming from this have to do with storage and photo stream.

This is what I mean:
In the settings on my iPhone, I click iCloud which puts me at a screen and at the top is iCloud Account Information. Under that is Apple ID. This is where the wrong id is.
Further down the page is the Storage Plan information, which says cannot load storage plan.
Also, iCloud Back-up: " iCloud Backup is inable to access the (wrong account, again). Review your account information in settings." I did and ran into the problem above.

This happens if
iPhone was hacked and iOS modified. And/or
Computer was used for hacking this or any other iDevice.
Check Hosts file, if it has any entry gs.apple.com. Put # in front of the entry. Reboot and try Restore.
Restore on another computer which has clean Hosts file.

Well, it's certainly behaving as though the phone that was backed up was synced to a different iTunes library.
I'm going to throw one more thing out there... Yes, you backed it up to this computer... Was the phone previously set up to sync with this computer? Or was it syncing with a different computer and you just backed it up to this one?
You may have to end up setting it up as a new device and rebuilding the phone by manually re-syncing your data, apps, music, etc. to the phone.
Trying to keep your library on a different drive can be tricky. If iTunes starts up and the library isn't available, it may end up generating a new library ID, meaning that you could easily find yourself in exactly the position you're in now...
I'm curious why there was a need to restore your phone to begin with... It may not have any bearing on this at all, but it could.

Settings > General > Reset > Erase All Content and Settings
This will bring it back to factory. From there you can go through the setup process to either restore from a backup or set up as a new device.
