IPhone 3GS to iPhone4

Hi,
I know it might sound a little stupid, but is there a chance that I can replace my iPhone 3GS with iPhone4. I purchased 3GS a month ago, and now I feel I should have waited for iPhone4. Is there going to be some offer in which I could give back my 3GS and get some rebate on iPhone 4???
Thanks

Hi,
your best bet is to contact apple in your country or the carrier you bought your iphone from.

  • Syncing phone book/contacts from iphone 3GS to Iphone4

    Hey,
I just got the iphone 4 - put in the smaller sim card required and am now wondering how do I transfer my phone book from my previous 3GS to the new sim card/phone.
My old computer crashed, and am using my laptop on which I just installed Itunes.

I believe the best way is to use iTunes to sync the contacts from your 3GS into a 3rd party program such as Outlook. Then, use iTunes to sync the contacts from Outlook to your new iPhone 4.

  • Transferring numbers from iPhone 3GS on O2 to iPhone4 on Orange

I'm sorry if this question has been answered elsewhere but I have had a look on several discussions and none seems to answer my particular query.
I have an iPhone 3GS with O2 with over 900 contacts on it. And lots of purchased music.
This is synced to my mac I use at work.
I have recently upgraded to an iPhone4 on a different network (Orange) and want to transfer all my contacts, calendars and music to the new phone.
Can anyone tell me how to do this please?

Thanks but this still doesn't seem to work.
I think I have followed the instructions but when I check the contacts I only have 72 and they are all email addresses, not phone numbers.
How can I get all my phone numbers from the 3GS onto the 4?
I'm not really that bothered about the calendar as I have very few things in it and can re enter them manually but the phone numbers will be an enormous task if I cannot sync them somehow.

  • Iphone 3gs to the new iphone4

I just brought the iphone 3gs not even a week ago, and now I see that the iphone4 is coming out, how can I get this phone instead? I know they have a 30day return th but how does this work? it would've saved me a hassle if they would've said new phone coming out you might wanna wait.

On April 5, 2010 I purchased an iPhone 3GS from my local Apple Store. Within a few days a friend at Apple mentioned a new IPhone was in the works, rumored to be available June or July. Apple's return policy is 14 days, but I called the Apple Store twice to verify that AT&T had a 30 day return policy and that they DID NOT CHARGE A RE-STOCKING FEE when I returned it! It's possible that charging the restocking fee varies by Apple Store (but I doubt it). Call the store that you bought your 3GS from and ask specifically their return policy on your 3GS. If you bought it from an Apple Store, I expect you will have good news!

  • I want to buy a appleTV but still have a iphone 3gs. Will everything work as with a iphone4?

I really want to buy a appletv but still have a iphone 3gs. I want to know if everything will work the same as if using it with a iphone 4 (photos, videos, music etc.)

Speed might not be optimal, but you'd be best using home sharing from a computer and controlling your Apple TV with the Remote app anyway.
The direct answer to your question is yes, it will work.

  • I switched from iphone 3GS to an iphone 4. Now itunes won't sync my apps, music,  etc

I switched from iphone 3GS to an iphone4. Now itunes won't sync my apps, music etc? I'm using the current version of itunes for win7.

I believe you have to authorize the iPhone 4 in iTunes

  • Migrating from iPhone 3GS to iPhone 4 * Apps disappering

I have an iPhone 3GS with OS4. Most of my apps works ok, but I some need upgrading to work properly under OS4. So I wait patently.
    But I have another problem:
I have bought an iPhone4 and try to migrate from the 3GS.
But it seems that there are Apps disappering on the way, and I would like to know how to fix it.
    My prosedure is like this:
    Full backup of the 3GS
Recovery of the same backup to my IPhone4
.. and som of my apps are gone.
I have used hours to put stuff into my Apps and hate to lose it all..
So currently I keep on using my 3GS.. Would like to move permanently to my new phone! Hope someone can help.
    PS! IT is not jailbroken.
Have the same version of OS4.02 on both phones.

After you restore from backup, you MUST sync to restore your itunes content, which is selected under the various tabs in itunes, just like you did for your 3GS. Itunes content is NOT included in the iphone backup.

  • Transferring apps from Iphone 3Gs to PC so i can upgrade

I have tried everything i can find to transfer my apps from my iphone 3GS to itunes on my PC so i can upgrade the phone but nothing works..Right click on phone on left side of screen, click transfer purchases and it only transfers 1 app which was a free app....I have synced the phone/ back up a couple times in the past couple weeks but it takes 4-6 hours to complete and still only shows 1 app in my itunes library...I dont have that much on the phone..150 apps....50-60 pictures and address book...does it always take this long ? Help.....Jay

Just FYI, when I did this, I had to manually select all the Apps to reinstall after restoring the iPhone4 with my iPhone 3GS backup. Most of the data for those apps transferred over with possibly one exception - a game (Nanosaur 2) in which my save games all disappeared.
I guess what I'm curious to know is, when you restore from a backup, shouldn't the Apps automatically restore and be in their previous positions? I had to go back and manually rearrange all my Apps which took quite a bit of time.

  • Iphone 3gs wont sync with music or video on itunes on mac but will on pc

All software is up to date but my IMAC has stopped syncing music and video to my iphone 3gs.
The phone will sync fine on a windows pc but I prefer to use the IMAC photos don't appear to be an issue
    Running Itunes 10.2.2

A little note to add to the confusion with this is my wife's Iphone4 syncs fine with Imac and Pc

  • Reception / Battery problems with iPhone 3GS after upgrading to iOS 4.2.1

There are major reception and battery problems with iPhone 3GS after upgrading to iOS 4.2.1.
I can not believe that Apple did not test this for major bugs like this one is.
I am a business user and can not effort to have bad reception. Apple wants to gain in the business clients... I never had this with my former BlackBerrys!
I need a reliable phone not a play thing like this is right now, it just needs it to work propely. And if a major bug like this comes along, fix it immediately. After the iPhone4 story, now this...incredible! Going back to my reliable BlackBerry! It just ain't reliable and takes forever to fix a problem.

I have the same issue after iOS 4.2.1 update. I am using iPhone 3GS officially unlocked by Apple. I tried using different SIM cards and both carriers show same problem when using phone in 3G mode. Phone falls back to EDGE mode showing 'E' from '3G' at start. I have reset the phone and rebooted several times and moved to different cell areas in the city just to verify the problem.
I had no such issues earlier. I also have Nokia E71 which shows full signal and has no such issues.
I have posted the bug on apple iphone feedback page. I hope they Apple will fix the problem and test the release properly on all models before releasing to public.

  • Help Me!!! IOS 5.1.1 update on Iphone 3gs screwed up my wifi

I updated my iphone 3gs to IOS 5.1.1 and now my wifi is interrupted. Also, internet speed slowed down.Has anyone else experienced this? How do u fix this problem?Tried and tried to find a solution.Starting to lose my cool.Had no problem with Apple products until now but am starting to lose confidence in their products. It's as if they know about this problem but don't have an answer to it.If anyone can solve this issue please, please let me know.I would be most greatful.HELP!!!

As you pointed out, turning on Compass in Location Services will only provide you the Longitude and Latitude on on the compass interface.
To enable the "True North" option you will have to turn on the "Compass Calibration". It is located in the "System Services" menu.
iOS5: Settings > Location Services > System Services
iOS6: Settings > Privacy > Location Services > System Services
Based on the test I just did (iPhone4 iOS6), both "Compass" and "Compass Calibration" have to be turned on for the "True North" option to be enabled in the Compass app.

  • 2 questions. iPhone 3GS os 4 issue + upgrade iPhone 4

I upgraded my iPhone 3GS to os4 and I cannot send picture messages I have no option whatsoever to do so.
    Does anyone have a solution?
    2nd question:
    I purchased iphone 3GS 9/11/09
I would like to upgrade to iPhone 4
I am willing to restart my contract to receive a subsidized price
Does anyone know if this is possible?
    Thanks you for your time.

From memory I believe the 3GS runs at 600MHz and the A4 processor is a 1GHz processor, but that doesn't mean that the clock speed in the iPhone4 will necessarily be 1GHz (but it probably will)
Allied to that is the fact that A4 is more efficient at processing, I'd imagine it's going to be a lot faster than the 3GS.
As others have mentioned, the iPad would be a good way of gauging the speed of the iPhone4
