Iphone 3gs turns off when attending any call or replying to any text message

it shuts off when calls are attended or whenever any work is done that is related to sim card. It keeps on shutting when sim is inserted. While if I pull out the sim card, then the phone works fine. It never turns off if sim is not inserted or if it is on Airplane mode.
I had changed the sims that i'm inserting but of no use.

My wife's iPhone is the same vintage as mine 3Gs, but has never had the battery problem. Its affliction instead is that it cannot detect WiFi networks unless it is quite close to the source. Often, when my iPhone not only detects but shows a maximum cells connection with a network, hers cannot detect the network at all. In contrast, her iPhone seems to detect ourcellular carrier just as well as mine does.
Is there any help for this affliction?

My iPhone 3GS turned off suddenly and when i switched it on it give me that there is no battery then when i charge it i fined that the battery between 60% to 30% i have tried to restore it but the same problem came out

This sounds like the same problem i'm having. I have to upgrade my os to most current. Really don't want to do a restore. I've read another post from someone who's problem seemed the same as mine and it was actually the battery. After having battery replaced, it worked fine. Whatever the problem actually is, I hope it won't cost a lot to fix.

hello, iphone 3gs turns off while there is enough battery to be consumed. Round about 60 to 80 percent battery is more enough to keep alive an iphone for a whole day long. what suggestion you recommend, help asap......

You could try to disconnect and after a few minutes reconnect the battery. That theoretically resets the phone BIOS and is supposed to help regarding the reboot issue (see post by NIKKOH007) http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=2471090&start=2055&tstart=30
Or replace the battery altogether with a newer, iOS 4 compatible battery. At iFixit.com they have come to the conclusion that not all batteries in the 3GS are necessarily iOS4.x compatible or a battery defect may be exposed after updating.

Try holding down the Sleep/Wake button and Home button at the same time,
Continue to hold both down until you see the Apple Logo on the screen. Once you see the Apple Logo on the screen let go of both buttons and allow the iPhone to reset.

How may you assist me about my iPhone 3Gs.
My iPhone suddenly turn off while the battery is recharged full condition.
it's turn off suddenly without nothing and i tried to turn on (hold on the power button) but doesn't work. As long was turn off the body of iPhone became hot the temperature i afraid to be exploding like a boom because temperature almost 40 C.
i bought it new from legal provider mobile since february 2010. yes warranty but how's happen?

That just happened to me today. I found the solution in the discussions....
Press the sleep button (aka power button) and the home button for 5-15 seconds (it took mine 12 seconds). The Apple logo appeared...took about one or two full minutes to boot up, and then my home screen appeared as usual. No data loss at all.
The post where I read this said to ignore the slider that comes up after you press the sleep and home buttons. However, when I did it, no slider appeared.

I am on the latest itunes offers me. The apps are all up to date.
I do clear the multitask bar often and this will happen regardless of whether there are 10 apps running or just the one. It will still crash and the battery will still be at least 30% or more.

My iPhone 5s did the same and my company sent me a new one. That one had the same problem. I am now being told by my company that it is an app that I have loaded that is not compatible with the IOS update. I've had this phone sitting around in my desk for a good two years at least because of this problem so I don't think there's a warranty anymore. It turns itself off within a minute of me turning it on and when it's on it says that it needs restored. I've restored it a hundred times now. Iphone 3GS turns off and goes dead after i make or receive a call.

Hi i bought a Iphone 3Gs unlocked from a Grainger Games store in liverpool two days ago. I live in Ireland so returning would be hard but possible. I have charged the phone for 9 hours and it said 100 % charge but any time i make or receive a call it powers off and wont turn on until i charge it again. When i do charge it, it goes back to saying the percentage it was before it turned off .
Is there a way to fix this problem? Does it need a new battery or is it a problem with the phones hardware?
I would rather not have to return it but if i have to i will .
