IPhone 3GS update to IOS 6 problem

I recently received an iPhone 3GS (32gb) from a friend, and updated it to IOS 6.1, after the update, i tried to turned it on and went through the setup, but when it got to the activation part it couldn't activate, i got this message "Your iPhone could not be activated because the activation server is temporarily unavailable. Try connecting your iPhone to iTunes to active it, or try again in a couple of minutes" when i connect it to iTunes i get this message "We are unable to continue with your activation at this time" any help would be grateful, Thanks.

The behavior you're describing would occur with a jailbroken or hacked iPhone. If it was ever jailbroken or hacked, it is now permanently "bricked".

My iphone 3GS updated itself to ios 6 & then things went absurd.
iphone kept restarting after showing apple logo. The issue continued even after a complete restoration. Apple service now says firmware got corrupted and so I have to pay 9500Rs (200$) and get a phone replacement of the same model. And there is no other solution.
Can anyone give any other solution or else is it worth to get it replaced for 9500Rs.
I have spend money for no real hardware issue and apples improper firmware methodology and updates...

I having the same issue about the and iTunes says "The iPhone cannot be restored at this time because the iPhone software update server could not be contacted or is temporarily unavailable.". I've had the iPhone 3GS since it came out. It was working fine until I just tried to update it. It has NEVER been hacked or jailbroken. WE AND A FEW OTHERS are having the same issue then it is more than likely that this is an update issue. I took mine to the Apple store and the tech tried to update it and he came to the same problem and told me he couldn't update it. My assumption is that we are not the only one's with this issue and that if there was a way to update it to the update before this last one it might be a solution. I don't know how to get the previous update. Apple probably is aware of the problem, and hasn't come up with a solution yet. Or, enough people haven't complained yet. The tech suggested that there might be something wrong with the phone itself, but that couldn't be since it was working perfectly before I updated it and others are having the same issue. It is highly unlikely that a lot of people are having the same hardware issue all of a sudden at the same time. Apple/iTunes needs to fix this... and hopefully soon
Also: I can update or restore my iPhone 5 and other iPhones so it is not an issue with my firewall or other software on my computer. No one touches my iPhone or my computer they are secure, locked all the time, and I have no jailbreak software on my computer (Apple tried it and they are clueless at the moment from what I can tell).

I am assuming you updated to version 5.1.1, not 5.0.1 since no legitimate version of 5.0.1 is available.

No Photos on my iPhone since Update to iOS 5

I made the Update to iTunes 10.5 on my Notebook with Windows XP and the Update to iOS 5 on my iPhone 3GS.
I had a lot of Problems (the Backup had an Error, my outgoing Mails were all deleted in all Mail Accounts, the Synchronisation of Music and Apps needs a lot of Synchronisations and a lot of Time and so on) with these Updates and I need more than 12 Hours at the Moment to repair all the Errors.
My last Problem is:
There is no Synchronisation of Photos between iTunes 10.5 and iPhone with iOS 5.
I can not see my Photos in my iPhone.
The Capacity in iTunes 10.5 shows 4,4 GB Fotos on my iPhone, but in my iPhone, there is no Folder in the Photo App and so I can not see the 4,4 GB of my Photos.
This Problem comes with iOS 5. I had this Problem never before.
First, I gave in iTunes a OK for a Home Sharing of Music, Videos, Photos and so on for the Folders and for the iPhone.
Second, I was in iTunes in Photos and deleted the Check in the Folder Photos.
Third, I made a Synchronisation with iTunes and the iPhone.
Fourth, the Capacity of the Photos was then only at 0,17 GB.
Fifth, I close iTunes and switched off the iPhone.
Sixth, I started iTunes and iPhone new and bring both together with the USB-Port.
Seventh, the Syncronisation started and the Capacity of the Photos in iTunes was at 0,17 GB, too.
Eigth, I set a new Check in the Folder Photos in iTunes for a Synchronisation.
Ninth, the Capacity showed 4,4 GB again.
Tenth, the Synchronisation started and showed on the Display "2 Photos of 16.000".
Eleventh, the Synchronisation Circle stopped after 10 Seconds, but the Notebook worked 2 Minutes longer.
And after this the Synchronisation stopped appruptely / crashed (?) and the Photos are "unvisible" on the iPhone.
Is this a known Bug?
Has Someone a Solution for a correct Synchronisation of the Photos, so that I can see successfully my Photos in my iPhone again?

If you are having audio issues with your iPhone after updating to iOS 6.1.3, you may want to update to the recently released iOS 6.1.4 and see if the issue persists:

Is it possible to restore an iPhone 4s with iOS 7 from a backup of an iPhone 3GS that uses iOS 6?

So for Christmas I am upgrading to a new iPhone and so therefore I am giving my iPhone 4s to my younger brother. He currently uses an iPhone 3GS with iOS 6 installed. I currently have iOS 7 installed on the iPhone 4s but am considering upgrading to iOS 8.1.1. I was wondering if it is possible to when restoring my iPhone 4s to then set it up from the back up of the iPhone 3GS that runs iOS 6, when they run on different operating system updates. Will it work when the iPhone 4s is running iOS 7 or iOS 8, or both, or neither?

My earpiece speaker has stopped working on my iphone since updating to ios 6.1.3

I have recently updated my iphone software to IOS 6.1.3 and now when I make a call the other person can only hear me when on loudspeaker or on Hands free in my vehicle. When the phone uses the earpiece speaker all the other person can hear is a loud whistling noise, has anybody else had this problem ? If so is there a remedy?

Did you already try to reset the phone by holding the sleep and home button for about 10sec, until the Apple logo comes back again? You will not lose data by resetting.
If this does not work, set it up as new device: Use iTunes to restore your iOS device to factory settings - Apple Support
If still no luck, get it checked by an Authorized Apple Service Provider or Apple:
iPhone - Contact Support - Apple Support

Thank you for this but for my similar problem this hasn't worked. We have two Iphone 3GSs and two Ipads in the house. Three devices see our wifi no problem. One of our 3GSs just stopped seeing our wifi SSID. It will find the wifi when it is a few feet away from the router but then just fades as you walk away.
The bluetooth seems to beworking fine, which leads me to think it is a software problem. I have reset network and all settings. Still the problem persists. Any thoughts and ideas greatly appreciated? Justin

This has nothing to do with Apple, as Apple does not make the apps.
This is the decision of the app maker.
Contact those app makers and ask them why they do this.

I tried turning off all apps for backup, but that did not help. I tried deleting all the photos and that did not help either. I tried the backup trobelshooting and I have tried using different computers. I'm completely stomped.
