IPhone 3gs upgrades to ios 5 and now crashed

I have spent the whole day upgrading the families iphones, ipods and ipad. The 32gb iphone 3gs has now crashed and is stuck in a loop of shwoing the Apple logo, then goes into the connect to itunes screen adn then back ot the apple logo. It will not power off, will not hard or soft reset and will not go into recovery mode.
I have trried all resets by being  both connected to itunes and not. I have installed all latest itunes. I am using windows 7. I have also tried on another computer using viats, but no difference.
What now?

If your iPhone is in recovery mode, your data is already gone.
If you have been regularly syncing with your computer or backing
up over iCloud, you can restore from there. Otherwise, your contacts
should be in whatever program you use on your computer - for
example, Outlook for Windows and Contacts for OS X. Any photos
not previously backed up to computer or iCloud are gone.

  • I have an iPhone 3gs, it got damp and now  says that it cannot be charged with this accessory. What can i do?

I brought an iPhone 3gs two days ago, and must have knocked my drink onto it when i was asleep because when i woke up it was soaking wet. I dried it out and tried charging it and it said that it couldnt charge with this accessory. Now its totally dead and wont charge. What do i do?

You've most likely shorted the battery out or fried the logic board, or both. Your options are not good. Apple has an out of warranty replacement program, cost for a 3GS is US $149. I wouldn't recommend you go that route, as the 3GS has been discontinued. A third-party repair shop may be your best option, but won't be much cheaper if the both battery & logic board need replacing.
You can "try" placing the phone in a ziploc bag filled with dry rice...leave for 4 ~ 5 days. Odds are, this won't work though.

  • Downloaded iOS 6 to my iphone 3gs it powers on and then crashes

Downloaded iOS6 on my iphone 3gs and it fully downloaded but when it rebooted it kept powering on giving the Apple logo, but then it flickers and turns off

I've used the 'self' updater (not used iTunes) and it does pretty much what you describe.

  • When i try to update my iPhone 3gs with new IOS and it won't restore and update

i Tried to update my 3Gs with the new IOS 5 and now it has the plug into  itunes sign. I plugged it into itunes and it told me its in recovery  mode and it needs to be restored. when i click restore i can only  restore and update it but once it is don extracting the software and  preps it for restore it tells me it has an unknow error. when i hit ok  it tells me to restore it again. i tried all the troubleshooting steps  none helped. Any ideas?

I have spent the better part of three days on this.  Yesterday I took it to the Apple store and they looked at it and tried to DFU (hold the lock button for 5 seconds, then press the home button along with the lock button for 10 seconds, THEN, let off the lock button continuing til the 'connect to itunes' symbol.
They say that my phone has a bad memory module or logic board.  Funny, it worked fine up until I updated.  Seems to big of a coincidence to not be related.
The only thing that seemed to get access was using redsnow unlocking tool (my phone is NOT unlocked).  I was desparate to try anything.  I tried to load a different firmware but still no luck.
I have a blackberry through work that is paid for, so I guess its time to get rid of my iphone plan.

  • Upgraded to ios and safari crashes

Upgraded both iMac and iPad and now Safari crashes on the iPad.

Other people have also reported issues with Safari on iOS 5. See if any of the following help.
Try clearing Safari's cache : Settings > Safari > Clear Cookies and Data (and Clear History)
If that doesn't work then try closing Safari completely and then re-open it : from the home screen (i.e. not with Safari 'open' on-screen) double-click the home button to bring up the taskbar, then press and hold any of the apps on the taskbar for a couple of seconds or so until they start shaking, then press the '-' in the top left of the Safari app to close it, and touch any part of the screen above the taskbar so as to stop the shaking and close the taskbar.
A third option is a reset : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.

  • HT4623 I just updated my iphone to the new iOS and now it won't even turn on! It doesn't respond to the charger or my laptop either. Help!!!

The title says it all. My phone simply will not respond to anything!!

did you let the update finish?  You'll know when you see IOS 6 on the screen.  If it did you can try a reset, hold down the home/power button together until you see the apple logo and then release then wait for the phone to boot back up.

  • I live in Zambia and there is no itune store here.I just upgraded my ios and now i want to install apple apps but unfortunately itunes store cannot recognize Zambia in my billing plan.Somebody help because i need most of these apps which i have lost.

How can i have a billing plan if my country cannot be listed in itunes store. Is there any other way i could download apple apps without a billing plan?

The living issue is complex in my case. Legally speaking, I have no personal residence globally. I just live wherever my father goes, which is everywhere. I'm an expat and it seems that these sites aren't really expat-friendly. They seem to be built for localization and assume everyone stays in the same place.
I don't know what I'd be considered. I'm a US passport holder and live in China, but I only speak some Chinese and I can't read it (it using non-latin characters is just too much for my mind's memory to handle). Besides that, I'm not interested in popular Chinese apps. They tend to just be annoying and kooky and generic and put together badly, often full adware and spyware (speaking for most Chinese software, in fact). In fact, a lot of apps I want are illegal in China (YouTube, Facebook, etc) and I use a VPN to use the services. I assume I wouldn't find these apps on the Chinese store. In fact, last I checked, there wasn't many English apps on the Chinese app store. This is probably due to their strict moderation or something.
I've been going to international schools since I got here and college would be in English too. I can speak some Chinese, but not read it.
Well, I guess the answer is that I can't use the App Store in English. So I guess I'll just sign out everything on my phone involving my Apple account and just start using third-party tools to do my business.

  • Factory Unlocked iPhone 3Gs upgraded to 4.2.1 no longer working with SIMs

I think this is an ios 4.2.1 glitch.
I purchased a facotry unlocked iPhone when I was in Jordan because I travel a great deal for work and needed a phone that I could use with many SIM cards. When I set it up the first time, and several times after that when I upgraded the ios iTunes would connect to Apple and welcome me to my apple unlocked phone. For more than a year I have been able to use it will all of my SIM cards.
The last time I upgraded to ios 4.2.1 iTunes did not connect to Apple to confirm my unlocked phone. Additionally my phone will only become activated when I install my Iraqna SIM chip. It won't work with any other SIM.
I have a No Service message on my phone and while it lists all of the SIM information - when I go to General - About - Network I get a message saying 'phone not allowed' for every SIM except my Iraqna.
I tried to restore my phone to the previous ios but couldn't because of the upgraded firmware.
I tried to restore my phone and set it up and a new phone.
I am traveling at the moment and cannot afford to use my hotel phone to be put on hold while waiting to speak to a service representative. I depend on my phone and have been resisting buying a cheap Nokia or an expensive Smartphone to replace my very loved iPhone 3gs.
I also really don't want to have to illegally break into my factory unlocked phone just so that I can use it as a phone.
    Please Help.

    Hi sn4p2k.
I take it that you have not heard of this problem and therefore don't have an answer.
I am not living in America at the moment.
Apple most definitely provides factory unlocked phones outside of America. I paid $1000 for this one from an Apple authorized reseller in Amman and it worked perfectly with Apple and iTunes through several ios upgrades for more than a year.
My phone is not tied to a carrier - that is what factory unlocked means.
I upgraded my ios and now I can't use my phone.
If anyone out there has had this problem and has a suggestion or a solution I would be very grateful if you could tell me what it is.
    Thank you.

  • Updated my iphone 3gs to the 5 ios and now my phone wont read my sim card when i reacticate it

updated my iphone 3gs to the 5 ios and now my phone wont read my sim card when i reactivate it.
Every time i connect it to itunes all it says is "There is no SIM card installed in the iphone you are attempting to activate." Even thought there is a sim card connected in my phone.

Is the SIM from a supported carrier?
Is the device carrier locked, officially unlocked, or hacked to be unlocked?
Has the SIM been reseated?  If not, try that.
Also, basic troubleshooting is reset, restart, restore.  Has any of that been tried?

  • I updated my Iphone 3gs to last version of iOS and now I can't change my configurations of Mail, Contacts, Calendars.

I updated my Iphone 3gs to last version of iOS and now I can't change my configurations of Mail, Contacts, Calendars.

Generally that is a sign that the iPhone had previously been jailbroken
or hacked to work with other than the original wireless provider. The update
has relocked the iPhone to the original wireless provider. You must
contact them to see if they provide unlocking and if you qualify.
If you can get that far, what does it say when you look at
    Settings=>General=>About=>Carrier?
