IPhone 3gs V3.1.2 shuts down sometimes
Hello,
just want to double check if other users have the same problem.
My Phone sometimes like once a week will shut down ( like if i manuell shut down the phone ) its happen by for example by open a hyperlink in the mail application or listen to music and 2 times without doing anything.
I have done in total 5 restores with and without using my backup.
I also searched in Google and found some other user have the same problem.
Is this problem hardware or software related
Can i check events like in Windows to see why the phone shuts down ?

I contacted Apple , the Engineer first does not know this kind of issues after we discussed some threat like this he advised my personal to wait for the next update
but i i like he will send me a new phone

Try forcing the phone into recovery mode and restore as a new device.

Doing this will help eliminate any possible software issue that could be causing this. Setting up a new device will bypass a backup with possible data corruption.
If the issue continues after this, you should contact Apple for service for the phone as it will very likely be a hardware issue. -

I just got the iphone 6 and it has shut down on me 6 times this morning on its' own. I get a red screen, then the phone shuts down. HELP. It started to happen out of nowhere. The screen goes red, and it shuts down. I manually restart it - and it shuts down again.
absolutely the same issue with apple logo / red screen and looping on iPhone 6 16gb purchased 3 days ago in Moscow. first i was so happy to have it and now its a brick. also noted the brightness drop outs 1 day before it started. after chatting with apple support:
- we've tried to go for recovery with iTunes. didn't work
- advised on go for warranty replacement by Apple Support chat
- found local Apple Service Provider. gonna go tmrw. -
my computer displays grey screen and apple logo for 10 minutes or more during start up and shut down. sometimes it refuses to shut down . this issues started after installing OS lion. what do i do?
I don't think it's exactly an incomplete installation brody, but most likely in-correct permissions somewhere along the line that either happened, or became magnified during the upgrade. Also, it could be corruption as well.
First thing to do, is boot up holding down Shift key to do a safe-boot so we an clean up any corrupted OS caches, after that do another reboot, but go to the Lion recovery, and scan the HD for errors, repair any if you find them, and then try to do a Repair Permissions job.
That should fix the issue, if not, we can start doing a PRAM reset and SMC for good measure. -

I would contact applecare about this issue. a hot phone is not normal , a warm phone is.
but if you contact applecare that way you have a record of the issue incase it gets worse in the future. -

my Iphone 5 got stuck when I did rest all Settings in my iphone 5 and my iphone do not restart or shut down. The phone do not have the ability to shut down.
Did you try to press and hold the home and sleep button for about 10sec, until the Apple logo comes back again? You will not lose data by resetting the device.

Doesn't matter when you purchased your phone. All iPhone 5s are still under warranty. Make an appointment at an Apple Store to have your device examined by a technician. Or contact Apple Support.

When I turn my iphone on, after its been shut down (in cinema, meeting ect.) it turns on and off again. Yes I've tried updating it and restoring it. Infact i've just tried restoring it and now its been doing it for the past 3 hrs! HELP!

My iphone 3gs sometimes just turns off... The screen would go white for a second and than it shuts off. Sometimes i can just press every button and it won't change anything so i think my phone is broken but than it just comes magicly on. It doesn't matter if is plugged in or not it just happens randomly and usually when it happens once it happens another few times when i turn it back on and after i turn it back on i have to be really carefull because a little hit on the back side and it wpuld turn off again. Also a month or so ago my phone fell and half of the screen is cracked.
I got the phone from y so it was used but i don't think she had any problems with it.
Pleaseee heeelppp!!!!!!!!!!!!!!It sounds to me like you may have a loose connection inside the phone, battery connector or sleep/wake switch. I say this because you mention that tapping the phone on the back seems to cause it to shut down. I would recommend taking it to Apple or a trustworthy repair shop and have them look it over.

Supposed I have a iPhone 4 works normally, suddenly my phone rings, for 1 second then shuts down immediately. The screen blacks out with Apple icon appear, seems like shutting down. After 2 minutes, the phone resumes as normal. When I'm trying to check out who called me, there is no record.
Another scenario is I'm making a phone call to someone. The phone goes into the calling screen then shuts down. Similar as above, after 2 minutes iPhone 4 resumes without record who have I called.
What am I supposed to do? Please advise and help.

i have been unable to use my iphone for going on a week. It started by shutting down when ever I'd try to use it. Now it has just a dead black screen. If i plug it in it doesn't charge And the flashing apple continues every 2seconds never charging or turning on. I'm frustrated because I can't even get in to troubleshoot. I bought an iphone cuz I thought it was the best phone at the time. My contract isn't up til Aug. and I'm stuck with a bill and no phone. I do not own a computer but I have an ipad4 which I love. HELP!
Make an appointment at the genius bar are your nearest Apple store. At this point there is nothing you can do without a computer, so if you don't have one and don't know anyone who has one that you can use the Apple store is a good fallback.
