IPhone 3Gs won't sync/upload to iPhoto

I upgraded from the original iPhone to the 3Gs and now iPhoto won't import photos from it. It still works with the original iPhone. When I plug in the 3Gs, iTunes comes up but not iPhoto. If I go to iPhoto to do it manually, it can't find the 3Gs. Shutting down the compute, turning off the iPhone and switching the usb port don't wok. everyone's advice to click on the mythical "synch to iPhoto" button won't work because that button doesn't seem to be available on my computer.
PLEASE help me! I have almost 30 photos I would like to get off my iPhone!
thank you

On windows you can upload when the phone is connected for sync by using the autoplay window that pops up and select "import photos and videos", if you can't get the upload in a similar way on your Macbook dust off your old windows machine then transfer. Make sure you have iTunes on the PC. I used Windows Live Photo Gallery but you probably can use any windows viewer then save.
If that isn't available I suggest you email to self or upload video to Youtube, Long way round but at leaset can use the photos until a fix is deemed necessary by the apple Gods.

  • IPhone 3Gs won't sync contacts through iTunes after 4.0.2 upgrade

I updated to OS 4.0.2 today, and since then my iPhone 3Gs will not sync contacts. All contacts have now disappeared from my phone. The group headings still show, but Contacts is empty. I performed a factory reset and restored my phone, but still no contacts. Even after repeated syncs.
I am syncing with Address Book through iTunes. I performed a one way sync each time from laptop to phone to avoid the phone overwriting my address book with zero data. I also backed up my contacts before attempting the sync, so the data still exists in Address Book, it simply won't appear in the phone.
I also tried to reset sync history - first by using iSync 'reset sync history' button, but that does not work these days as iSync does not see my iPhone. Then I tried looking for the reset sync history' button that Apple Support says can be found as follows:
"Open iTunes. From the Edit menu, choose Preferences. Click the Devices tab. Click the Reset Sync History button."
But - that button is not there!
    Any ideas anyone?

Did you try to set up your phone without using the latest backup? If you can, your other backup might be damaged and not usable anymore.

  • IPhone 3GS won't sync or be seen by iTunes

    Hi All,
I recently moved my iTunes library from my PC to Network drive.
During the move due to my stupidity I lost my playlists.
    I have 2 x iPhone 3Gs and a 160GB iPod classic.
The iPod classic can sync with iTunes no problem.
When I try to sync either of my iPhones nothing happens.
I am using the same cable as my iPod and it starts charging the phone.
My PC recognises the phone as it asks me if I want to few photo's.
However iTunes does not recognise the phone.
I am not sure what to do as nothing has changed with the exception of where the music is located.
    Does anytone have any suggestions?
I have been trying to get this sorted for the last 5 days with no luck

    Hello taylasaurus,
I would be concerned too if my iPhone was not recognized by iTunes on my Mac.  I found an article with steps you can take when you encounter an issue like this.

  • IPhone 3gs won't sync my exchange server email

I just got the 16gb 3gs. I synced it with my outlook contacts and calendar, which went flawlessly. My email, on the other hand, didn't sync. My exchange email account doesn't even show up as an option to sync. Obviously the phone is talking to the server, because it got my contacts and calendars.
Is there a setting on Outlook to allow my account to show up in iTunes?
    We're using Exhange 2003 (SP2) and Outlook 2003

  • IPhone 3GS won't sync with HP Pavilion dv6-1259dx with Windows 7

I have had an iPhone for 2 months now and still haven't been able to sync it to my computer. I went to the Apple store and the worker there told me to just keep updating iTunes and eventually there will be an update that fixes it. That has yet to happen. When I attempt to sync my iPhone a window appears. "iTunes has stopped working, Windows is checking for a solution to the problem..." and then "A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available." Everytime, it is very frustrating, can someone please try to help me.

When I attempt to sync my iPhone a window appears. "iTunes has stopped working, Windows is checking for a solution to the problem..."
Let's have a look at your Problem reports to see if they show up any more information about the errors.
Head into your Problem Reports and Solutions Control Panel (Or the Windows 7 equivalent ... the "Action Center"?) and open your problem history. Look for iTunes problem reports that occurred at about the same time as the iTunes errors, open them up and have a look through them.
Do they all seem to be saying pretty much the same thing? If so, paste the contents of a typical report into a reply here so we can have a look.

  • IPhone 3GS cannot be synced.  An unknown error occurred (-39).

My iPhone 3GS won't sync.  I get an error message in Step 5 of 5 when it's trying to delete photos.  The message says "The iPhone "iPhone 3GS" cannot be synced.  An unknown error occurred (-39)."
How do I fix this?  Is there anyone out there who can please help?

Try restarting your phone and computer, use a different USB cord, use a different usb port on your computer.  Try these to see if any of them help.  Good luck!

To begin troubleshooting this issue on your iOS device, first follow the steps in the appropriate troubleshooting assistant below:

  • My iPhone 5 won't appear in my iPhoto

My iPhone 5 won't appear in my iPhoto library so that I can import my pictures from my phone.

Connect your iPhone to your Mac.
In iTunes, under devices select your iPhone.
On the main window it shows a summary of your iPhone. Along the top of the main window are tabs. Select Photos.
The main window changes. Make sure Sync Photos with iPhoto is checked.
In the bottom right there is an 'Apply' button. click that and your photos should now sync with iPhoto.

  • My iPhone 5 won't sync with the Nike Plus sensor

My iPhone 5 won't sync with Ike Plus sensor, new or old.

    Hello bfelix,
You may need to switch 'Nike + iPod' off in your Settings, then re-enabling it. Make sure that the sensor is not in sleep mode (which can be corrected by pressing the small button on the side opposite the Nike and Apple logos). Depending on the age of the sensor, however, the battery may be depleted.
Make sure you have the latest version of... iPhone... software and iTunes installed.
Make sure the sensor is not in sleep mode by using a pen or stylus to press the Sleep/Wake button on your sensor once to wake it up.
On your home screen, tap Settings.
Scroll down and tap the Nike + iPod option.
Disable the Nike + iPod feature and then re-enable it by tapping the On/Off button at the top of the page.
Place the sensor back in the shoe and walk around to activate the sensor as you attempt to relink it to your iPod touch or iPhone 3GS.
If the issue persists and you have access to another sensor, link the new sensor to your iPod touch or iPhone 3GS. If you can link the new sensor to your iPod touch or iPhone, take in your first sensor for service.

Nike + iPod: About the sensor battery

The Nike + iPod Sensor's battery is not replaceable or rechargeable and has a life of over a thousand active hours. The sensor has a sophisticated built-in power-management system, allowing the sensor to consume power only when active (that is, when it senses motion).

  • I have various devices with different capacities, but my iphone 5 won't sync as it says i'm overcapacity? it there any way to store onto the icloud and not the device?

I have an ipad and iphone 3gs 32gb, an iphone 5 and nano 16gb and also purchased 15gb on icloud. My iphone 5 won't sync as it says it is over capacity. Is there any way to store on icloud and not my device? Is having the various capacities on each device is pointless?

Just select less to sync with the iphone 5.
Each device will only sync what you select.
