Did anyone catch or read anything about the new iPhone OS 4 supporting CardDAV or true PUSH for email, cals, and cards?

It amazes me how little love us Mac OS X Server Admins get from these iPhone/Mac events.
I saw on the Apple website a reference or two about iCal being push - but that's what they said about mail the first time around also.
Here's where I saw it. Not a mention about pushmail.. But Exchange is written in about every third word. Thanks Apple. Still making me spend $$$$$ on your competitor's production just to get the functions we should already have.

Japanese iPhone shows AU and no service

my friend got a japanese iPhone and he is in China,yesterday his iphone has no service and shows AU in state bar,
it doesnt work now,anybody tells me what should i do?

iPhones from Japan are carrier locked and can not be legitimately unlocked. If your friend is attempting to roam using his Japanese carrier in China, he'll have to address the issue with his carrier. China is a big place... The roaming partner(s) may not have coverage where he is.
If he is trying to use a Chinese carrier on his Japanese phone... he can't do that.

I broke my Iphone back case, and no service center in Indonesia

dropped it accidentally
just the back case, fortunately no other part broken
and no authorized service center in Indonesia
so I couldn't find any genuine spare parts
I'm looking for the genuine back case, I can open the iphone back case myself thou
but my question is, is it sold separately?
since I have relative either from Singapore or Australia
anyway to tell them to sold it separately for me?
I mean like a code or official email from Apple itself

What does 3 conversations on iphone mean? and "Wombat Service"? mean?

I downloaded facebook to my iphone and lost all my data. It then slowly came back except I lost all my phone/contacts. Then my phone got disconnected. My provider Optus re-connected my phone and don't know who or why it was disconnected. I still have lost my contacts. Now when I use another phone I get the msg that there are 3 on the conversation and also with my mobile number not displayed I get the number showing "Wombat Service" what does this mean? Is my phone being used by another person? and have they taken my contacts? Not sure what is happening but my phone is playing tricks on me. Sometimes it works, sometimes it does not send or receive msgs? Could you please explain. Thank you. Annie

I would just explain that this just started happening, that nothing has changed on the phone, that it is an original iPhone and I wondered if they are implementing a change in coverage with their Edge network in my area.
If you restore your phone, you will be given an option to back up your phone at the beginning of the process (see step 6 here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1414). Will now have to find out why imessage stopped working on iPad when it started on iPhone (new). I bought this iPhone while backpacking through Europe 2 years ago. It was the first thing i did after i got off the airplane to help me navigate, book hostels, trains, flights, and talk with family back home. it cost me around 700-800 US dollars, full price since they do pricing/contracts different over in the UK.
It's been a couple years, and I'm ready to ditch my 6 year old Samsung and move on to this iPhone. The problem is, since i wasn't using the UK service for a while, they dropped my number/user account completely and they can no longer unlock my iPhone. I talked to AT&T and the Apple store, and they said that the only way I can unlock my iPhone is by contacting the service company that i originally purchased this from--whom can't help since i no longer have an account with them.
How do i LEGALLY unlock this iPhone for use in the US?

Only the wireless provider to which an iPhone is locked can unlock it.
You may have to get a PayAsYouGo sim from that provider to activate
your account with them so you can get the iPhone unlocked.
There is not other legal way to unlock the iPhone for use with other than
the wireless carrier to which it is locked. Contact them to see what options
they offer for re-activating the iPhone on their network.

This is almost always a symptom of a phone that was jailbroken or hacked to unlock it.

Thanks for using Apple Support Communities. Based on what you stated, it sounds like you have no service on the iPhone. It looks like you have already done some troubleshooting. There is one step you did not mention trying that i think is worth trying.
If you see No Service in the status bar of your iPhone or iPad - Apple Support
Remove the SIM card. If the SIM card is damaged, worn, or bent, or if it's too big or small for the SIM tray, contact your carrier for a new one. Then reinsert the SIM card.

How, EXACTLY, did you get it "unlocked"? ONLY the carrier it's locked to can authorize unlocking it. Anything else is a hack.
You can not get help here for a hacked phone.

The 4G LTE SIM card in your device contains information about your plan, device and more. You can set a SIM PIN so others won’t be able to access that information if your SIM card is removed from your device.
If you remove your SIM card and insert it another device (e.g., when you upgrade to a new device), you’ll be asked for the SIM card PIN. You can find your SIM card PIN in My Verizon if you’ve forgotten it. Or, if you’ve entered your SIM card PIN unsuccessfully 3 times, you’ll need the PIN Unblocking Key (PUK) to unlock your SIM card again. After using the PUK, you’ll need to create a new PIN for your SIM card if you want to secure it again.
To locate the SIM PIN / PUK numbers for your 4G LTE SIM card:
Navigate to the Overview page in My Verizon.
Click My PIN and Unblocking Key (PUK) under About My Device.
Your default PIN and PUK will be displayed in a pop-up window.

You need to restore the phone in itunes in order to use it again, You will have to put the phone into recovery mode and restore to factory settings http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1808

I have no idea why this has happend ive been using the phone for 2years bought it on pay as you go and now all of a sudden its stating the above error i have never come across this problem before and currently im using 3GS and Iphone 4S

Sounds like it's been blacklisted.
Even if it hasn't, downgrading voids any warranty and forfeits all rights to support. You hacked your phone. You can't get help here.

IPhone 4s and Sim failure and No service issue

Few gentlemen told me, to replace sim card. Here is what I did,
1) I am from India. I was using Vodafone 3g micro sim. Everyday, 4-5 times in the ideal mode I got messages like Sim failure and invalid sim. I have to restart my iPhone everytime. Then only it was working.
2) I posted the question, people said its my card problem
3) I bought new BSNL 3G micro sim card for iPhone. I inserted the card and got 3G working.
4) After 3 hours, I saw No service message. I waited for some time, i went to outside to see if it was a network issue. Nothing changed.
5) I rebooted my iPhone, it immediaetly picked the network.
6) After few hours, again it lost and said no service.
7) I then didn't rebooted it.
8) In the morning, I saw Sim Failure and invalid sim message. Useless
9) I now rebooted and Sim is working with 3G network.
Now please ,
is this iPhone issue? It is for sure. I am tired now. Battery is dying and with this Sim Failure and No service, I am totally disappointed.

I read all your messages above , I am facing the same problem as u faced.
My Iphone 4S and it was working fine (5.0) until i upgrade to 5.0.1(9A406).
Now I am facing alot of network issues. I get messages liek NO Sim , SIM FAILURE.
I even restored the sowftware from ITUNES but i am still facing the same problem.
I was using Vodafone first but I heard that due to problem in micro sim reader of Iphone 4s i shd use a 128 K or 64 K sim.. Since only Airtel provided 64K sim ...I installed that in my phone. But still i am facing the same issue.
I would appreciate if you can tell me whats Tweaked version of 5.0.1.
the current software installed on my phone is 5.0.1 (9A406).
