IPhone 4 3G Connection Problems

Hey all,
Since July 1st I have been through 3 new Iphone 4's and 2 SIM cards. The problem I have is when I try to use the internet though 3G. It will work once or twice for a few seconds in the morning, then it will either time out or just display the following messages "Safari Couldnt Open Page" or "Network Lost" and "could not activate cellular data network". I have called Telus (my provider) with no luck at all on the problem. I have reset every setting, I have installed software from new again, I have done everything possible. Wifi works flawlessly, but for some reason, my phone just doesnt want to connect to the internet using 3G. I know it's not my area and not my specific handset since I have had 3 of them. All 3 phones have been brand new and are locked to Telus, never been jailbroken or anything to that effect. Incase anyone would suggest to double check my APN settings, Telus does not allow their customers to access that feature, so it is not "shown" or available on the Iphones locked to Telus (which I obviously have). My phone always shows 4 or 5 bars by the way, and always says "3G". One interesting point is when I am able to catch a break and get a conncection, if I load my local radio station app and start streaming, i can then go to safari and my internet works just as good and fast as long as I am streaming, but that is only on the rare occassion that I can get on the net at all. So with all that said, does anyone have any suggestions at all?

i am on 4.3.3 with iphone 4 and have had that problem for almost a month now. I tired resetting all settings, resoted the firmware version and it didnt help, however, once i removed my simcard and reinserted it back in and worked fine for a couple of days, but then it went back to normal. it randomely connects to internet and randomely disconnects using 3g. no problem with wi-fi.
I am with Three network by the way.
is this some kind of hardware fault or software?
at least i am not alone, lol.

IPhone WiFi Connection problem solved (ios v 6.1.2)

I recently spent time going through a verry irritating problem with my iphone... I installed a new router at home and initially all was well... my LAN connection worked... my wireless connection was strong and it took no time to get my AppleTV, iPad and my sons iPad running on the wireless network.... Then I tried to get my iPhone (4) to log on to the network.... it appeared to find the network... accepted the password.... and nothing.... I tried:
Turning Wi-Fi off then on again
Restarted the router
Reset network settings on the iphone
Forgetting the network & inputting the password again
Turned off the iphone and restarted it
Restored the iPhone
restarted the router, again...
Eventually I decided to look at how the router was setup... so, in a browser I entered the router address: eg. 192.168.#.###. Then I went and did a reset on the router... and Voila ! the iPhone as well as all of the other devices now find and work with the Wi-Fi network...

IPhone Wireless connection problem

Neighbor got hand me down iPhone 3. It connects to her home wireless network, then drops, then picks it back up, then drops.... My iPhone connects to the same network without a problem. Her phone connects to my wireless network without a problem. Any thoughts or ideas on why this is happening?

It could be that for whatever reason, your router is not passing the DNS information from the ISP to your phone. DNS servers are the internet servers that allow our computers to translate websites into IP numbers so they can communicate. Here's what I would try:
If you have another computer in the house using the same wifi network, go into it's network preferences and look for the DNS server names, and then try entering them manually into the iphone in the wifi configuration page. Google DNS and you should find instructions on how to locate that information whether or not your computer is running Windows or Mac OS.

Iphone 6 connection problem

Dear all,
I got my brand new iphone 6, 64g, 2 weeks ago with IOS 8.0. until now.
Everything works fine sofar, but it has a very anonying problem: In about every 2-3 days, the Wifi connetion , as well as the LTE connection to the phone will come to failure,however the display shows it connects properly as usual. Only the date does not load... my other ios devices work all fine and properly at the same time.
The only solution to this is to restart my phone! This becomes really a headache to me.
P.S in the last 3 years i ohly had to restart my iphone4s 2-3 times, but i already did this with my iphone 6 in 2 weeks.
Would be great if you guys can drop some helpful insights!

I have a 2010 Audi A6 and couldn't use my iPhone 6 Plus with iOS 8.0.2 in my cars Bluetooth. Here is what helped me:
Delete Bluetooth devices on iPhone and iOS 8:
Turn Bluetooth off
Sign out of iCloud
Turn iPhone off
Turn iPhone on
Sign in to iCloud
Turn Bluetooth on
Now all previous devices are no longer showing up.
Then I reset my network settings.
Under settings-general-reset-reset network settings.
You have to have your wifi password as this will delete all previous used wifi networks.
Just ust resetting the network settings did not help me so I had to delete the Freybe out devices on my iPhone also. No need to restore iPhone for me, lucky...
Delete previous Bluetooth devices from car.
Pair iPhone with Bluetooth in car.
This did the trick for me and I was able to make and receive several phone calls in my car today.

IPhone 6 connection problem with 2012 Acura TL

New IPhone 6 will drop a call on a regular basis and then pick up the call 4-5 seconds later while driving in my 2012 Acura TL. . I downloaded the latest OS 8.1.1 and it appears to have made it worse. Have tried deleting and reconnecting the phone to the car's Bluetooth but no improvement. Is this an IPhone issue or an Acura issue? If an IPhone issue any suggestions on how to fix this problem would be greatly appreciated.

Define "sync with". Does it establish a bluetooth connection for handsfree use? Are you having a problem with contacts? The iPhone supports PBAP (Phone Book Access Protocol) for accessing contacts. PBAP will pull your contact list automatically at connection time. If your system wants you to transfer your contacts, it's probably using rSAP (Rrmote SIM Access Protocol). The iPhone does not support rSAP. Most modern smartphones don't base on my understanding, but I'm not an expert on Android so I won't swear to that.
You may be able to get your system updated by the dealer.

Personal HotSpot (iPhone) - iMac connection problems

Hi,
I'm connecting to the internet via Wifi with my iPhone hotspot (AT&T). It works fine with my MacBook - with my new iMac (Lion), it keeps losing the connection. Sometimes it's stable, sometimes it's disconnected every minute.
Network Diagnostics lets me pick my iPhone under Networks (mostly. Sometimes it doesn't show it as a choice, even though my MacBook is still connected fine), then says "Network change detected" (even though I haven't changed anything, and other connections still work), I have to put in my password, again "Network change detected", then it says "your connection appears to be working correctly", and it does. Until one minute later, same process.
Sometimes not even Network d. works, and I have to shut off the hotspot at my phone, turn back on, then go through the process. Other times it keeps saying the device is out of range or it's a connection time-out, when my phone is actually right next to my computer, and, once more, my macbook which is further away works fine.
I have these problems whether or not my MacBook is connected to the Hotspot, too, or not. Connecting the iPhone to the iMac for ethernet isn't an option for nowPers, because iTunes keeps deleting my playlists (whole other problem I'm working on:)
I don't think it's AT&T's fault since it works with all other devices for most of the time. Does anyone have an idea what the problem could be?

IPhone 3Gs Connection Problems IOS 5.1.1

I have an iPhone 3Gs on IOS 5.1.1 and when it loses connection to my carrier, also wifi is not connected. It worked before on ios 5.0. Is there a way to fix this?

I came across this post as my iPhone 3Gs had gone into recovery mode on its own accord.   I had hundreds of photos unsaved and was gutted when I saw this post, I felt even worse as it was not the information (gdgmacguy) I wanted to read.
Unfortunately, the above post is simply wrong! A system cannot destroy information in a blink of an eye.   If it were that easy, the forensic teams across the world would have a hard time. A criminal could simply force a phone into recovery to remove all the data. Please!
I managed not only to take the phone out of recovery mode but also, salvaged all the data held on it.
To be fair, I am a little annoyed at Apple for not offering a salvage option on the device for such a situation. And it may be that they will not like me sharing this information, in which case I believe this view to be morally wrong because photos are so important. We all make mistakes, in terms of forgetting to backup from time to time.
What I used was the Redsn0w software, running as an administrator in XP compatibility mode. In the ‘Extras’ section it as a Recovery Fix option. It simply runs some software that takes the device out of recovery mode. I had to run it twice for some reason but the second time (out of desperation) worked a treat. The phone is now exactly as it was before it went into recovery mode. More to the point, it allowed me to backup all the photos and videos that I had failed to do before hand. And let’s face it, photos and videos are usually the most valuable stuff we keep on our phones.
I hope this help anyone in the same situation. I really hope someone from apple reads it and is able to convince the bosses that a recovery option is very important. And to take note that YES it is possible to recover data on a phone stuck in recovery mode. And more than likely it would be easier for apple, compared to other non-apple professionals.

Iphone wifi connection problem

I just bought an Iphone and when it attempts a wifi connection It asks for a password to my network which I have totally forgotten. When I tried to access the setup site (192.168.1.1) a dialog box popped up with the following message "A username and password are being requested by http://192.168.1.1. The site says: "WRT54GS". I couldn't get to the setup screen because as I said I have forgotten the password. What must I do? My router is WRT54GS and I am running Vista Enterprise. Thanks, Wrogers814

If you forgot the password ....use admin as password without any username ... if that only not works .... you need to reset the router by holding the button for few seconds ....
Make sure that power light should be solid .....

TS1398 iPhone wifi connection problem

My iPhone 5s recognizes my wi-fi when I am in the house but it is still working off Verizon which has a weak signal. How do I get it to work off the wi-fi when I am in the house? I just re-set the wi-fi but no change--still connecting to Verizon.

Iphone 4 connection problem vodafone D2

Hallo zusammen,
ich habe seit ca 3 Wochen vermehrt Probleme mit meinem Iphone 4. Wenn ich jemand anrufe oder ich angerufen werde, dann bricht immer öfters die Verbindung ab. Gerade führte ich ein Gespräch von insgesamt 15 min und musste dabei 30!! Mal mein Gegenüber anrufen.
Ich telefoniere mit Vodafone D2, IOS ist die aktuellste (5.1.1)
So langsam nervt mich das... und es liegt nicht daran, dass ich keine Funkverbindung habe, zumindest zeigt es fast Vollausschlag an.
We weiß da etwas darüber oder soll ich das Gerät wegbringen (hat ja noch Garantie)?
Habe es auch schon mehrmals ganz ausgeschalten und wieder frisch gebootet - leider kein Erfolg.
Als Schützhülle habe ich nur eine Kunstoffummantelung.

habe zwischenzeitlich mit dem Business Team von Vodafone telefoniert. Anscheinend hat D2 zusätzl. gerade ein etwas größeres Problem, da ich nicht alleine bin (einige meiner Bekannten haben dies auch),
D2 meinte, dass das Iphone ein Problem hat mit 3G auto. Sobald nicht genügend Sendeleistung für 3G vorhanden ist, schält es um auf "Standard". und genau dann bricht das Gespräch ohne Vorwarnung ab. Dies wäre bekannt und D2 bzw. Apple würden daran arbeiten.....

Has Apple come out with patch for iPhone-Bluetooth connection problem?

I have a Mini Cooper with Bluetooth compatibility and it was compatible with my iPhone for a couple of months, but I have found out that it only syncs up with iPhone software versions of 2.0 or 2.0.1. It seems that when I downloaded tunes on my iPhone from iTunes, it automatically "upgraded" my software on my iPhone to 2.0.2, which now makes it imcompatible with my Mini's bluetooth. Has Apple come out with the patch for this problem yet? I can't believe I'm the only one with this problem. If Apple doesn't advertise the patch for this pretty soon, I'll be blogging for help on this throughout the Internet. I have called Apple....they have put me on eternal hold and still have not given me a positive answer on this dilemma. Apparently the "senior" software guys haven't gotten the word on this coming problem for them. Needless to say my frustration is to the point of chucking this attractive nuisance into the river and going back to a less sophisticated form of communication. Anyone have any information on this? You can send feedback to Apple regarding your issue with the Mini - http://apple.com/feedback . You could also contact Mini and see if they are working on a patch for their bluetooth.
I haven't had the fuzzy picture issue except when my hand shakes while taking a picture. There will never be a perfect update where no one has a problem. If you wait for the perfect update, you'll never update any electronic device.

Help needed Iphone 4 connection problems in windows 7

Device Manager in Windows 7 does not recognize iPhone 4 iOS 4.3.3 whether in normal mode or in recovery mode and not in DFU mode, but my second iPhone 4S is recognized immediately. I do not understand.

I would try another computer to verify if the iphones connector is damaged and thats why it dont connect

IPhone Developer Connection Problem

please help i am desperate i just spent 100 dollars today on apple's developer license to distribute an app that i have been working on since last xmas
i finally got the license and when i got the activation code i clicked it then it said it was invalid enrollment code
so i got on my iphone sat on hold for an 1hr and 24 mins on the support line just to talk to a man with an extreme accent (who started questioning my age)
please please help i have put a little over a year on this app (it's free) and i want to get it out there

Someone plz help. iphone usb connection problems

hi guys. ive been trying to get pictures off my iphone but my computer isnt recognising my phone. its never happened before.
usually it comes up with autoplay asking whether or not i want to open folder to view files, import pictures etc. if not it shows my iphone in my computer but now none of that is happening. although it charges when i plug it in and shows up in itunes and all but i need to get pictures off it and thats the only way.
ive tried everything under the sun. all my usb ports, other computers, device manager, played around with autoplay,restoring my phone, everything! i went to the apple store and all they suggested was the restore. somebody please help me! dont know what else to do.

If you have a Push email account (such as Mobile ME, Exchange or Yahoo) go into Settings/mail,contacts,calendar, tap on the account, and switch it OFF. Then press home. Reboot (Hold HOME and SLEEP until an Apple logo appears). After it finishes booting go back to settings and turn that account back ON. Note that your are turning the ACCOUNT off, not turning PUSH off.

After upgrading my iPad Air with IOS 7.06, I could no longer connect to the internet.
I have 2 MacBooks Air, 1 ipad mini and one iPhone 4S running on the same network, and they are all connected to the net and function well.
So I cleaned up the ipad completely, installed the latest firmware and reinstalled my apps : no connection.
I tried all things of resets and forgets. No result.
I have been fondling with my Airport Extreme 5 , but that did not help much.
This morning I went to a neighbor , hooked my ipad air on his network, typed the password and the thing all worked fine.
I have tried to connect the ipad air as an ethernet client, but that did not work. „Not enough power“ was the statement
Ideas anyone ?

Yes I tried this manyfold. But did not work. Reading on, I took Tesserac's advice. Shut down router and computer.
Start router after 15 minutes and wait another 10 minutes before starting the computer.
Et voila.... everything is back in working order,

My iPhone 5 got problem when connect with lighting cable, this will keep pop up message "this accessory may not be supported", I can't charge or sync at all. I tried plug and unplug many time, still can't detect/charge my iPhone5, but sometime will 'lucky' that can connect to my iTunes and charge battery…
This message will auto pop up also when I don't have plug anything in my iPhone 5, It is very annoying…
The lighting cable is original and now i'm using OS 7.0.4 / iTunes is 11.1.3
What I can do to fix this problem? Thank you.

I would try using another cable you can likely borrow one to test from somebody
if it's the same then likely the connector in your iphone have been damaged
