IPhone 4, 4s, 5, and 5c Continuously Powercycling after adding iOS 7.0

For the last two months since the release  of iOS 7.0, my iPhone has been in a continuous powercycling loop. I've  backup and restored so many times, you would think I could frequent  flyer miles from the person administrating the apple server. Even though  the iPhone 4 is not my main use device, it is a device that I first  purchased at full price. So it is truly my device, and it really upset  me that this crap was going on with it. So for the last several weeks me  and a few friends conducted several experiments with the device and a  few others that are having this problem to determine what is causing the  powercycling issue. What we've discovered that the issue is in the  power saving control of the iOS. On three devices, we attempted to  charge the devices. After several days, the devices charged to 100%. It  was extremely diffcult to do. When the device all reached 50% charged,  the powercycle issue presented itself. When we recharged the batteries  again on the devices, it took much longer do so. This time, we disabled  the items that were hgh battery user, like wifi, bluetooth, lower the  brightness, etc. It of course it took longer for the battery to drain,  but when it hit 50% charge. The issue reappeared. We did this with  several other devices. We used iPhone 4, 4s, 5, and a 5c. All had  the same issue, and had the same results. We conclude that it is a  software issue. It's occuring on number of devices, with the same iOS. I  can simply say to 4, and 4s owners to either upgrade to a new device or  hope the next update of 7.0 will have a fix. 5C oweners, hopefully the  next software update will correct the issue. I hope this helps, please  conduct your own experiments, and post your results.

If this was an iOS issue, then, in your words, all users would be experiencing this. We have 5 iPhones in the family. a 4, 4s, 5c and 2-5s. None are experiencing this issue, and all are on the latest iOS 7.0.4. If you continue to backup and restore to backup, you will probably continue to see this behavior. I would assume there is a corrupt file in the backup that is continually bringing the problem back. Try to restore the device as new, and before putting anything else on the device conduct your test. If it fails, then get the hardware checked.

iphone 4 not recognized and will not sync after latest itunes update.  I have done recommendedl trouble shooting and uninstalled and reinstalled itunes to no avail. Can I go back to earlier version of itunes or restore computer to fix?

'The installer has insufficient privileges to modify this file C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Apple\Apple Application Support\Web kit.resources\inspector\Images\Spinner Inactive Selected.gif.'
That one's consistent with disk/file damage. The first thing I'd try with that is running a disk check (chkdsk) over your C drive.
XP instructions in the following document: How to perform disk error checking in Windows XP
Vista instructions in the following document: Check your hard disk for errors
Windows 7 instructions in the following document: How to use CHKDSK (Check Disk)
Select both Automatically fix file system errors and Scan for and attempt recovery of bad sectors, or use chkdsk /r (depending on which way you decide to go about doing this). You'll almost certainly have to schedule the chkdsk to run on startup. The scan should take quite a while ... if it quits after a few minutes or seconds, something's interfering with the scan.
Does the chkdsk find/repair any damage? If so, can you get an install to go through properly afterwards?

If you try all these Steps and you still have issues... Then a Visit to an Apple Store or AASP (Authorized Apple Service Provider) is the Next Step... Be sure to make an appointment first...

  • Trasformations and DTP are decactivating after adding some NAV in cube

    Hello Experts
Trasformations and DTP are decactivating after adding some NAV in cube and activating it.
I knew that it is normal but activating all the DTP's and Transformations is painfull work, would like to just know whether there is any programme to activate the dependent objects!!!

yes, thats right. A stupid job.
in my last project I created 3 multicubes, 14 infocubes and 23 dso's.
-> 1 change in the data modell and you must reactivate 20 objects.
I wrote a ABAP program to activate
    - datasources
    - transformations
    - DTP's
    - update roules and
    - multicubes.
It's very nive. So simple now, to make a change.
    I select
    - a object or
    - or an infoarea
    - and the program search all objects in the dataflow.
    I have two modes
    - to display all objects
    - and activate the inactive objects.
They are many tasks, where I think a tool can help me to increase my development performance. But I don't have enough time.

  • TS1398 After I lock my iphone, WiFi Deactive? and my WiFi active after I unlock my phone.

After I lock my iphone, WiFi Deactive and my WiFi active after I unlock my phone again. After I updated iOS 6 to iOS 6.0.1 the problem happen. How Can I fix the problem?

There is nothing to fix. The iPhone does this by design. If not connected to power, a short period of time after the iPhone locks, wifi goes to sleep. It has been this way from the very beginning.

  • Iphone 5 GSM frequently search for provider, this after update ios 8.1

I update my Iphone 5 via backup and complete new install. Now the Iphone frequently is searching for a provider. Plz help?

hi Franxis . . . below is what I had to do . . . I believe that my  crashing, perpetual rebooting and reset loops was due to some combination of my iPhone 5's hardware, iOS 8.1.1, and some applications.
I upgraded to iOS 8.1.1 upon release.   approx. 10 hours after this upgrade, the iPhone 5 displayed a bright white screen.  tried hard reset & phone would not turn on.  iPhone eventually turned on, to display lines & colors, but iPhone was inoperable - would not reset using sleep / home key combination or connection to  iTunes
I brought my iPhone to the Retail Store -  RS was able to reset phone, and then began the process of restoring from my last backup there & said it would continue throughout the day.  After the restore from backup completed, the crashing, perpetual rebooting and reset loops started again.
    1. I was eventually able to perform a DFU &  installed the phone as new (factory reset, I believe).
    2.  I did NOT perform a restore from backup.
    3. The phone seems to run fine now
The long story is that days 1-3, after the DFU / factory reset, the phone ran fine.  And, on day 4, I began installing Apps again.  When I installed the fourth App, and the phone crashed, changing colors, perpetually rebooting, and unable to start / get into a functional mode.   On day 4, I had to leave the phone alone for a while - was eventually able to perform another DFU - factory reset -  and again no restore from backup.  Today - day 5 - my iPhone is running fine again and I installed 11 Apps now (not the one that crashed my iPhone), accessed them all, and phone seems fine.
For me, it seems like an App, or some Apps that I was running caused the issues for me - it could be a combination of everything (certain Apps + iOS 8.1.1 + hardware not getting along).

Your right but it's way better with emojis!
Personally, I stop texting people who send them to me until they start typing actual words.
They cause problems because not all phones/carriers seem to interpret them the same way. If your friend has an iPhone 3G, they don't have iOS 5.1.1 and don't have, if I recall correctly, the builit in keyboard. They're probably using some third party emoji app. If you install the exact same app, you might stop having problems. But if not, you have choice: be cute or have your SMS readable.

  • Iphone 3GS keeps crashing and wont hang up after out & incoming calls after repairs

I have had my iphone 3GS back to vodafone after I could not make calls, kept saying call failed!. I did all the troubleshooting tips, was okay for a short time, then shortly started doing same thing.I took it back to the store and on that occasion the assistant took the phone out of the protective cover i always had it in  to replace the simcard in case it was this that was causing the problem ,then he dropped it onto the shops wooden floor and it bounced, he picked it up & went bright red & kept apologising , I then said if I have any more problems with it then I will come back & see him & he said yes. Shortly after I noticed the sim cover on top of phone was missing but i could see the simcard inside, so I returned to the store & informed them of this, i was advised by the earlier assistant 'Craig' that he thought that the sim tray was underneath the simcard which he then removed the simcard, then advised me he didn't want to go poking about in it in case it was inside and he would send the phone to be repaired & gave me a replacement phone until mine was back. I waited approx 2 weeks before receiving a call from Vodafone saying they would repair it if I payed over £100! as it was not covered under my insurance,  I informed them the assistant dropped the phone in store and then i noticed the problem & was then told they would investigate this and call back, 10 minutes later they called back to say it would be a free repair. Since the repair I have had nothing but trouble with the phone crashing when I access apps , sticking on the hangup screen with in & out going calls for approx 10 minutes or more, when I turn phone on the Apple logo stays on the screen for long periods off time. When I access my music the track will change part way through to another track & also sometimes refusing to charge. I am fed up with going back & forth to the store which is quite a distance from my home & the phone has more problems since it was ''dropped'' & then ''repaired'' & I am at a loss of what to do. I feel I have been treated unfairly and gone along with all Vodafone asked of me. Please could someone from Apple help me!!!

The steps you already took were the correct ones - reset, restore from backup, restore as new phone. You could always try them again, but a Restore with set up as new is the 'ulitmate' troubleshooter - if that doesn't correct the issue, it's usually time for a replacement phone. Unfortunately, you've learned a hard lesson there, although I don't see how Apple screwed you - it's no secret that the iPhone warranty is valid only in the country of original purchase (as a little research on your part would have shown).
See how much money you saved with your eBay purchase? Next time buy the phone from Apple or an authorized UK carrier.

  • IPhone 4s heats up and drains battery quickly after upgrading to iOS 8.1.2

Last Sunday i.e. on 14-Dec-2014 i upgraded my iPhone 4S (WiFI + 3G, 64GB) to iOS 8.1.2. Since then my iPhone's battery has started to drain out abnormally fast (it doesn't even last an hour after charging it fully to 100%) and the phone even heats up simultaneously. When checked under Settings> Usage> Battery Usage, i found the app-wise usage of battery like this: Phone (Audio) 36%, WhatsApp-24%, Home & Lock Scree-17%, Settings-7%, Messages-5%, Mail-4%, TOI-2%, Conatact-2%, and rest few apps 1% each. Prior to upgrading the iOS to 8.1.2, the battery life of my iPhone was normal: i just had to recharge once in 24 hours with normal usage of the phone. Could anybody help me to fix the problem? Thanks in advance. -BBS Ijam, GTK/SKM/171214

I think iPhone 4s is oLd now we need to update our as I will have to change my battery from repair center maybe this will solve the problem the new iOS are heavy for our phones.
*** I also have extra internal battery cover for my iPhone. I can't go out without that cover because my iPhone battery drain so fast from 100% it will be maybe 60 % so fast that is so annoying.
Long story short my iPhone is screwed up I think I don't trust my iPhone battery anymore.

    Perform a Reset... Try again...
Reset  ( No Data will be Lost )
Press and Hold the Sleep/Wake Button and the Home Button at the Same Time...
Wait for the Apple logo to Appear...
Usually takes about 15 - 20 Seconds... ( But can take Longer...)
    Release the Buttons...
