IPhone 4: Access photos/texts on both devices.

I have two iPhones both of which are set up with the same Apple ID.  How do I get the photos from one phone to the other without the other knowing? Is this possible? We have Find my iPhone set up so there must be a way. Do I need physical access to the phone in order to set that up?  What about text messages? How can I access remotely?

If you want music purchased from the iTunes store on your other devices to appear on your iPhone, sign into the same Apple ID in Settings>iTunes & App Stores and check Music, etc. under Automatic Downloads.  After doing this it will automatically download future purchases made on your other devices, not past purchases.  Music added iTunes on your laptop from other sources (such as your CDs) are not synced with iCloud unless you have subscribed to iTunes Match.  If you have subscribed to iTunes Match, you can turn this on on your phone in Settings>iTunes & App Stores.  If you haven't subscribed to itunes Match, you will have to transfer these to your phone by syncing with iTunes.
When you turn on photo stream in Settings>iCloud>Photo Stream on your phone, you will receive photo stream photos from the last 30 days on your phone, and photo taken on your phone after turn on photo stream on you phone will stream to your other devices, not existing photos.
If your the other data you are syncing with iCloud (contacts, calendars, notes, reminders, etc.) all appears on your phone, and when you change any of this data on your phone, you see that it is changed on your other devices, then iCloud is working properly on your phone.

Just thought I'd add my solution, I decided to go with WebDAV and I think it actually works better than the iTunes way, the steps are pretty much the same but avoiding the iTunes interface just makes things easier and faster.
I followed this guide but it does have a small mistake in the httpd-dav.conf file, on line 2, where it's WebServer/WebDAV">, it should be <Directory "/Library/WebServer/WebDAV">.
The tricky part is setting permissions which if wrong will give you errors when connecting with the iPad, I opted to set all to Read&Write since my home network has a hardware firewall. Another convenience was to add an alias to the webdav share on the Desktop.
I'm still expecting the call from Apple but even if they fix the iTunes I'm sticking with WebDAV, atleast until I see what's new with iOS5 and iCloud this fall which should bring true sync for documents (I'm hoping that they will offer encryption with my own keys, if not, then I'll probably keep using WebDAV).

  • I cannot sync notes between iPhone 4S and iPad 2. Both devices are running iOS 5.0.1.

I am unable to sync notes between iPhone 4S and iPad 2. Both devices are running iOS 5.0.1. Any solution?

So, my DNS is comming from my ISP.  It's the same list of IP addresses for all our other devices that are working: 2 PC's 2 Laptops, a PS3 and a WII, an iPhone 3gs running IOS 5.0 and an iPhone 4 running IOS 5.0.
The ONLY two devices that are having issues are my iPhone 3gs running IOS 5.0.1 and my iPad 2 running IOS 5.0.1.
Soooooo,  there is something incompatible with my ISP's DNS and IOS 5.0.1?

You can create up to 3 alias addresses but you have to do this on icloud.com from your computer browser.  This article explains how: http://support.apple.com/kb/PH2622.  Also, incoming email to an alias address will go to your current iCloud inbox so it really isn't a separate account; just a different email address for the same account.
Each iCloud account only has a single iCloud email account.  If you really want to set up another, you would need to add a secondary iCloud account by going to Settings>Mail,Contacts,Calendars>Add Account>iCloud, then entering a different Apple ID to create the account.  You can then turn on Mail to create the new account.  Mail in secondary accounts, however, is fetch email, not push (which is only supported in the primary account).

  • Why when I send an iMessage on my iPhone/iPad, it shows up on both devices?

When I send an iMessage from either my iPhone or iPad, the conversation shows up on both devices.  When I recieve an iMessage, the message is sent to both my iPhone and iPad. How do I turn this off, and stop it form happening? It's quite annoying.

What kind of email account do you have. The behavior you describe is the way a POP account will behave,. Reading the mail on one device marks it Read on that device only.
But if you have an IMAP account, reading the mail on one should should transfer down so it shows as Read on all devices.

  • I have 2 iPads associated with my PC. When synced I am not getting same photos/videos on both devices

I have 2 iPads attached to my PC - iPad 2 and mini with retina. I sync all photos to ipad. When I moved over to iOS 7 a new folder was automatically set up called Videos into which went all my videos from the photo albums - fantastic I thought! However, when I connected new mini, although there was a folder for Videos, it only contained some of the videos, the older ones. This has continued each time iPads have been synced. Is there any way to ensure both iPads contain same videos/photos?

For the avoidance of doubt, you are looking in the find my phone app and not via the web browser.

  • IMessages question for texts on all devices

Is this correct? In order for iMessages to come through on your iPad, the iMessage has to be sent to your registered email address?  In other words, if someone sends a text from their iPhone it only comes through to another iPhone, but if you send a text from an iPad it comes through on both.  I have only once been able to receive texts on both devices and the text originated from an iPad.  I have my email already setup on both devices for receiving.

I'm not using iSync:  The thread in the link discusses diving into it to deal with the problem.
It's a matter of all the hoops one needs to jump through - please see the link.
As far as "unsubscribing" to the calendar - I'm NOT "subscribed" to it - it comes up w/the iCloud calendar choices in System Preferences - there's no way to "unsubscribe" to it that I can see.  I've unchecked the box in the USHolidays calendar in the sidebar, but that doesn't stop the notifications.  I have just now checked "ignore notifications" in the Calendar preferences for this particular calendar - that should stop the alerts.
However, I ran the dupe deleter at home on my laptop this morning.  Now, sitting at my desktop, there are 4 events for Good Friday & Palm Sunday on my desktop in the iCloud calendars.  I'll run the deleter and see what happens.
The POINT is that APPLE should fix this "event propigation" or whatever you want to call it.  It's been a problem since 10.5 - try googling "calendar usholidays multiple alert annoy" - that's what lead me to this post.
So, iCal Dupe Deleter comes to the rescue - it's helped for now.  I'll just run it every so often I guess.

  • Integrating texts from two devices

I have a number of texts on my old 8220 that I want to keep; I recently got a new 8220 but startd using it before I had transferred the data from the old one so have a new set of texts to keep.
I made a back-up before transferring the data, but it doesn't seem to be possible to have the texts from both devices as the transfer substituted the old set for the new rather than adding them as I expected.
Does anyone know a way to combine the two sets of texts?
    Thanks,
    Mel.

    Hello mel_fox,
Welcome to the BlackBerry Support Community.
Currently there is no method to combine to sets of SMS backups into one group on your BlackBerry® Pearl™ 8220 smartphone. Any time a backup file is restored, it will overwrite the existing database.
    Thank you.

  • My iphone wont send all texts to droid user

Ok. You know how when 2 iphone/apple users are texting and both have the same software update with the Icloud that their conversation bubbles in the text message are grey and blue. Grey being what they sent you and Blue what you sent them. Furthermore, when you are texting a non-iphone/apple user the conversation bubbles are Grey*what they sent you* and Green*what you sent them*
Now my fiance switched from her iphone 3gs to a Droid just 2 days ago.
I have a 3gs as well and we have noticed if I or her friends using an Iphone send a text message to her and it shows up on our phones as a blue conversation bubble *as if she still has her iphone* she does not receive our texts. But if our phones send her a text and they come up as a green conversation bubble, she gets them..
any idea on how to fix this to where all of our texts we send to her come up as a normal Green conversation bubble since she is no longer an iphone user.
We are constantly busy and need to be in contact with each other.
    PLEASE HELP ASAP

My husband has a new Droid (used to use an Iphone) and I have a new Iphone (used to have a 4, now have a 4S).  All texts I sent to him came back to my phone.  How we finally solved the problem:
    1) Turned out I'd registered my phone under his ICloud account.  I went onto the Apple site and registered an account with ICloud.
    2) My husband unregistered his old Iphone per the above advice.
    3) I went into Settings - ICloud - and all the way at the bottom of that screen, selected "delete account" and deleted the account.
    4) Going back into ICloud, I re-registered under my new ID.
    5) We both rebooted our phones.
    Solved!
    Hope that helps.

  • HT4914 My wife and I both have iPhones and iPads. Can we both have access to the same iTunes Match library or do we have to have separate subscriptions?  Our devices are synced to the same computer and we currently download titles from the same library.

My wife and I both have iPhones and iPads. Can we both have access to the same iTunes Match library or do we have to have separate subscriptions?  Our devices are synced to the same computer and we currently download titles from the same library.  We both use separate apple id's on our devices.

You need to reconfigure your phone for use with your Apple ID. I suggest you restore yours as new then reconfigure it with your information and Apple ID. Be sure to disable Find My Phone, if it's enabled, before proceeding.

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
Photostream only syncs photos over Wi-Fi, make sure you are connected to Wi-Fi to begin with.
Photostream only syncs when the camera app is closed, ensure it is closed.
Photostream only syncs when the battery is above 20%, try recharging the device
Try disabling photo stream on your device (settings > iCloud), restarting your device and then re-enabling photo stream.
If this doesn't help you may need to reset photo stream. You can do this at icloud.com by clicking on your name in the top right corner and then the advanced settings in the pop-up dialogue box that appears.
Note: disabling photostream and re-enabling it will result in any photos that are currently in the photostream album on your device, that are older than 30 days old, not being added back.

When you enable Photo Stream on your devices, only new photos you take or import to those devices will be automatically added to your Photo Stream. Existing photos won't.
