Iphone 4 acts unactivated

Hello fellow apple users,
I am in desperate need of help. Recently my friend gave me her iphone 4. She turned the service off, so i decided to use it as an ipod. This worked for some time, i was still able to download apps and use the features. this week, i decided to delete the "other" space on the phone but as a result the device began to randomly skip songs. As an attempt to fix this, I factory reset the phone and it all went downhill. The phone acts as if its completely unactivated. I cannot connect to the app store or anything. The sprint and 3g icon doesnt even show anymore. What can i do to still be able to use it, if anything at all. PLEASE HELP!!!!

Try it with the sim that is in there. The SIM in the Galaxy should also be a micro sim which is what the iphone 4 take you could also use that and go thru the activatin process

Yes, I understand that. But The screen issue is not a result of user damage. The phone was not dropped when the screen got cracked. My daughter was standing in a chair at the table and dropped one of her toys onto the bottom of the phone and cracked it right by the home button. (Nowhere near the LCD/digitizer flex cables, connections, or logic board components) then a few months later my phone had died, I plugged it in, it showed it was charging, then Apple logo disappeared and screen didn't work. AFTER contacting Apple about the issue and them telling me that it "is a result of the very minimal crack to the sheet of glass that has no relation to the LCD or Digitizer and that the warranty does not cover it I had taken it upon myself to change the LCD/digitizer to no avail, as well as backlight ic and backlight coil to no avail. But how do I go about letting Apple know that it is in fact NOT due to the cracked screen nor is it due to the flex cable connections? I can't. So the lady that works the call center phones trying to "convince" me that she knows what she is talking about and "convince" me that it is from the cracked screen I have to take her word because I can't show Apple that its not because of that without paying them $199 to fix the screen in which case they will just send me a new phone rather than fix the faulty hardware under warranty.

It sure sounds crazy but this is what someone is claiming, that the iPhone acts as a "base station" to repeat calls from other iPhones to the cell tower.

Accidentally overwrote iPhone with iPod on iTunes. How do I get my data back? Now iPhone acts like iPod.

The hard drive cannot be damaged any further by simply removing it and then putting it back in. If it was getting progressively worse, it may now be at a point where the data is not accessible in any normal way.
Since your iMac is still covered by warranty until December, you need to get it fixed. That is the first step. Whether you can recover your data or not, you need a working iMac. Ask the Apple Store to give back the broken hard drive so that you can send it to a data recovery shop, even if you do not intend to do so. If Apple says they need to retain the old drive (since it is being repair under warranty), take it to an Apple authorized repair shop (who can do the same work under warranty) that will let you keep the old drive.
After getting your iMac fixed and working normally, you can try to recover the data. You may be able to access it through a USB or FireWire external case. But if the drive is not at least visible in Disk Utility, I don't think other utilities such as Disk Warrior and TechTool Pro will help.

Iphone acting odd

My son's phone is acting odd now. When I tried to update all apps on it, it keeps saying there is no space in storage and I need to take care of the storage. I deleted a bunch of apps and the music from what I downloaded onto my iphone and it still says the same thing. I don't understand what is going on with it. He said he went on some **** sites but I don't know if that is what is the problem that is causing this. Is there something I can do to fix this? Or a reason why I have to update all one by one instead of all at once?

Lost new iPhone, enabled lost option online on icloud, old iphone acted as lost. Would the new iphone also act as lost?

My new iPhone has been stolen.
When I synced it to iTunes the first time, I decided to transfer all of the data from my old iPhone onto it, so they also have the same name.
I logged into iCloud and tried to locate my phone, then enabled the "lost" option.
I then turned on my old iPhone which acted as if it had been stolen.. (the message popped up on the screen, plus my mac notified me that the phone had been tracked, etc)
I was wondering therefore, if for my Mac they are the same phone? and if it is so, would the "lost" option be enabled on both phones?

Iphone acts like im touching the screen when im not

my phone wont unlock and i can only get it to slide about 1/4 of the way across the unlock bar and if i do get it to unlock it types in a random pass code and locks me out and if i manage to get past both of these it sometimes will open up apps and messages and it always types in the bottom row of the keyboard and tries to copy and paste random stuff. i recently had my screen replaced and im wondering if that has anything to do it but im also wondering if it might bw an iOS problem because ive read on here that some other peoples phones are acting weird and a few of my friends are..

If the screen was replaced by a " Phoneshop " rather than Apple then take it back they have screwwed up your iPhone and now the warranty is void and Apple will not ever provide service or help with that device

IPhone acting wierd after 1.1.3 update.

After the new software update, my iPhone screen stops responding randomly. It only happens while I'm on safari and the iPod. It only happens rarely on the iPod, but when on safari, it happens enough to be a nuisance. Is this a problem other people are having or is it my iPhone itself?

Have you tried the troubleshooting steps in the order I provided with my first post in this thread with the last being calling AppleCare or making an appointment at an Apple Store?
This is not normal except for getting slow to think from time to time with powering the iPhone off and on - which should be done with a GSM phone every few days or so regardless or a Reset which should take care of this aspect.
I power my iPhone off and on each morning before beginning the day and I usually do a Reset once a week or so just to keep things running smooth.

IPhone Acting Weird

My iPhone has suddenly started giving me problems with its pop-up keyboard. For some reason it will not allow me to use the bottom row of buttons on the keyboard (the ".?123" button, the spacebar, and the "return" button). It simply will not let me click them. Additionally, I can't even send text messages because it won't let me click the text bar at the bottom of the screen to send reply texts. My use of my iPhone is greatly hindered now and I do not know what to do. I have tried restarting as well as resetting my iPhone several times and it still does not work. Does anyone have any idea what to do?

Iphone acting as if it has headphones when none are plugged in.

I have an iphone 3G. I am not hearing any ringing when people call. I also have to take calls on speaker. This is the second iphone I have had. The "geniuses" at the Mac store gave me "new" one two weeks ago and already it doesn't work.
I have reset the phone and turned it on and off. The mute button is NOT on. I can't run to the Mac store every two weeks. Please help.

Hey whereismyrobot,
The issue could be caused by debris getting in the iPhones headphone jack.
Try adjusting the volume on the iPhone without headphones connected, does it show (headphones) even though headphones are not connected?

Change all of your passwords & report the loss to the Police, your carrier & Insurance company. While there is no way to track your phone, if your carrier offers Blacklisting, they will do so at your request. Once Blacklisted, the phone will not be able to be activated for service where you live & in 19 other countries as well if your carrier participates.
If your carrier does not offer Blacklisting, there is nothing you can do.

IPhone acting wacky after 4.3.4 upload

Uploaded 4.3.4. Since then phone is acting strange. Try to open mail and goes into delete app mode (shaky icons with an "x" box) Tap an app and it opens a different one. Texting and hit the backspace and the entire text is erased as if backspace key stuck. These are just a few of the weird things that started happening after 4.3.4. Any solutions? Advice?

Not yet. I see it does not address specific issues. In general it suggests to reset phone and then download back up. Have to admit I'm a bit nervous about losing all my stored info.

now that went away.It first said I couldnt make or recieve phone calls.20 mins later I can make phone calls and everything seems fine . but when I plug it into my computer or the charger it flips out and the screen goes white and flashes.ANYONE HAD THIS PROBLEM?OR KNOWS HOW TO FIX IT?

If the iphone displays a message the message "Hardware repair needed" its going to need service.

i set my new iphone to limit adult content under restrictions.
yesterday it worked fine.
today however it is blocking everything?
why?
i also have a problem where apps sometimes shut me out and return me to the home screen. i just press the apps and go back in like nothing happened.
this is my first iphone and im frustrated...

Close All Open Apps... Sign Out of your Account... Perform a Reset... Try again...
Reset ( No Data will be Lost )
Press and Hold the Sleep/Wake Button and the Home Button at the Same Time...
Wait for the Apple logo to Appear...
Usually takes about 15 - 20 Seconds... ( But can take Longer...)
Release the Buttons...
